I am experiencing an issue with the power liftgate struts on my 2020 Hyundai Palisade SEL that appears to be a common problem among other Palisade owners. The liftgate support struts are beginning to fail, causing the liftgate to no longer stay fully open. When the liftgate is opened, it slowly falls back down instead of remaining securely in the fully open position. The struts appear to have lost their ability to properly support the weight of the liftgate and are essentially failing. This is particularly concerning because the liftgate can unexpectedly fall while someone is loading or unloading the vehicle, creating a potential safety hazard. Given the number of similar complaints from other Palisade owners, this appears to be a recurring issue with the liftgate struts. I would like Hyundai to recognize this as a potential common defect and provide a proper repair or replacement of the failing liftgate struts.

I was driving the 2022 Palisade at 65 miles an hour on busy interstate when it suddenly shifted down to 5 miles per hour. I was almost back ended and sideswiped as I tried to get from middle lane to side of interstate. I had 3 grandchildren in car at the time. I had this vehicle in for repair at Hyundai dealership twice before this incident and was told just bad gas and keep driving it. Another incident before was at 4 way stop in GA where I started after stop and car completely stopped and a gentleman also broadsided me. Again told bad gas. After taking car in for repair again, I was told total transmission failure at 108000 miles.

Sunroof was opened and a slim metal piece fell down into the car landing in the console. I wasn’t sure where it came from so I tried to close the sunroof. It would slide to close but would not go down the last inch or so on the back. I tried to open and close it a couple times to see if it was just sticking and another slim metal piece fell down. I am afraid to drive much and over 25-30 mph because I am afraid the roof may fly out. A long silver piece was flopping around (I assume a wind deflector) so I laid it in the backseat. It’s a shame that I have a vehicle that’s basically unusable on rainy or windy days and can’t drive over 30 mph because roof may fly out and hit someone. I also cannot lock and set alarm because roof shows open and horn blows. I care for my elderly parent with dementia so this is not helpful when nearest doctor visits or Hyundai dealer is minimum 45 minutes away drive.

We purchased this used 2022 Hyundai Palisade SLE vehicle on XXX at a Nissan dealership with 95,492 miles. While my spouse was driving the vehicle on the highway on XXX the failed child safety lock alarm notification displayed on the screen and the 2nd row actuators began flicking on and off, like it was exorcist. My [XXX] toddler with special needs rides in the back so we were concerned the doors might pop open if they were not locking properly. We took picture of the alarm display. The next day XXX, before we signed the sales contract , we informed the dealership of the safety hazard. They proceeded to take vehicle back and we hav a loaner vehicle in the meantime. After a week, we were informed that the Hyundai dealership did not find anything wrong with the door locks. When we proceeded to pick up the Palisade on XXX, we were able to recreate the problem right away before even driving the vehicle. All we did was unlock the suv, and when we attempted to open the back doors, the actuators kept clicking on and off on both doors on the 2nd row of the suv. We again told the dealership that it was re-occurring. I emailed and texted pictures and video to the sales representative Carlos Cortez, the finance rep Ruben Mendoza and the service manager Mike Moore. Mike contacted me next day early morning via telephone, they could not recreate the problem and would consult with a Mastertech. I explained that all we did was unlock the suv with the fab and tried opening the 2nd row door manually and the exorcist possession of the actuators reocurred. I also emailed him the Palisade Forum weblink: [XXX] that shows that shows that this is occurring to many other Palisade and Santa Fe owners and they have been some repairs done such as replacing wiring harness , actuators and windows to fix the problem. What happened: A franchised Hyundai dealership installed aftermarket window tint on a new 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition prior to sale without disclosing it as a dealer add-on. When the vehicle was brought in for an active manufacturer safety recall concerning the rear quarter-window glass, the dealership informed us that the official factory recall remedy (applying a protective safety film) cannot adhere to window tint. Because the dealer-installed tint prevents the recall protective film from adhering, the dealership was unable to perform the safety recall unless the window tint was permanently removed or omitted. Component involved: Rear quarter-window glass and safety recall protective film. The vehicle and windows are available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The official Hyundai safety recall addresses an issue where the rear quarter-window glass poses a potential safety risk. Because the dealer-installed modification physically prevents the application of the recall safety film, the vehicle remains without the manufacturer's required safety recall remedy. Furthermore, dealership service personnel initially advised us to simply waive or decline the safety-related recall rather than resolving the modification conflict, leaving a potential safety hazard unaddressed. Dealer Confirmation & Inspection: The issue was confirmed by the authorized Hyundai dealership's service department and Service Director in writing. They verified that the recall film and the pre-installed tint are physically incompatible and that the recall remedy was omitted as a result.

I purchased a new 2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL from Bud Clary Hyundai Auburn on July 2, 2026. Prior to purchase, the dealership acknowledged that the vehicle had open safety recalls and stated that customers could not take delivery until the recalls were addressed. I later relied on dealership representations that the recalls were being fixed and completed the purchase. After delivery, Hyundai Customer Care and the dealership's service department both confirmed that the recalls remain open on the vehicle. Hyundai has since confirmed in writing that the recalls have been open for an extended period of time. The open recalls include NHTSA recalls 25V607000 and 26V034000. I am submitting this complaint because I believe NHTSA should be aware that a new vehicle may have been delivered to a customer while these safety recalls remained open.

The front sunroof on our 2023 Hyundai Palisade shattered without any impact and caused a huge explosive sound. When we went outside the car to see if there was any rock or debris, there was no sign of any rocks or debris which caused the front sunroof of our car to shatter. The glass from the shattered sunroof could have possibly hurt us seated in the front seat or could have injured our one year old and six year old kids seated in the middle row.

I just purchased a 2026 Hyundai Palisade Limited Edition Sunday, June 28,2026 from Tomball Hyundai. Today, July 3, 2026 I was PARKED in a parking lot not near anyone, sitting in my running vehicle & heard a crackling noise. I looked back to see my rear window shattering but still in tact, but just crackling all the way across the entire window. Then while still parked, I started seeing parts of the rear window fall out and on the ground and into the car. I called my sales manager at the dealership and he told me to take a photo and drive straight to the dealership. Glass was falling out and into vehicle as I drove. I arrived and was told the service manager would have to call someone to see if they are going to pay for it or not. I haven’t even had the car for a week. I was parked, and it just shattered. Not moving, nothing hit it or was even nearby. I feel this is a defect and have seen numerous reports online of the same thing happening to others. I researched online to see this was a very common issue/defect in 21-25 models, along with 2026 models.

November 2025 I was on the freeway when I heard a loud bang. With my two young children in the car, I pulled off and inspected my car to find the rear moon roof glass had exploded. Luckily at the time, I had the shade closed or the glass would have been on my children and their car seats. I took it to the dealership and after a few weeks, my car was finished being repaired and returned to me. Last week, June 18 2026 I again was driving on the highway and heard again another loud bang. Only a few minutes away, I drove straight to the dealership, I knew it was the sounds of my moonroof again. They repaired and returned my car for a second time.

Randomly but frequently, my car would turn off when coming to a stop and with the auto shut off - but the full car would turn off and to move, I would need to press the ignition to turn back on and drive. This even occurred while accelerating onto a highway. I took this to the shop and after 6 months of back and forth and paying for fuel injectors they 'repaired' it. Now, my car felt heavy with the auto turn off but the vehicle stayed on. The next day, while trying to accelerate up a hill on a highway, the RPM would rev but the car would not shift and accelerate. Additionally, I am getting 'parking sensor error or blockage' but they lines and sensors are all working.

XXX - approx 9:00pm - departed Copper and Sage restaurant enroute to the WigWam. After about 1/2 mile at 30-35mph, I slowed down to make a right turn. After completing the turn I pressed the accelerator to continue and the Palisade had absolutely no power. I pressed the pedal to the floor with no success. I was finally forced to pull over and stop the vehicle and place it in park. After doing so, the Palisade was able to return to operation with the pedal and for fear of another incident we drove home. 2nd Incident - 2 Mar 2026 - approx 1200pm. We were traveling west on XXX from [XXX] to [XXX] and began the ascent through the mountains going west towards XXX. After experiencing a steady grade upward approximately 6-7% at speed of 55-60mph, I used the hand shift paddle to downshift one gear to assist in the upward climb. Upon doing so, the Palisade once again died with no power at all. I pushed the accelerator pedal to the floor with no success of power. This incident could have been devastating as we were in the far left lane with many other vehicles behind us. I had no place to pull over to the left so I began to make my way to the right shoulder over 3 lanes very slowly under only previous velocity motion. We narrowly avoided being hit from behind numerous times and finally made it over to the right shoulder. After finally stopping the Palisade, I put the vehicle in park and it returned to operation with the pedal once again. We then carefully pulled out off the shoulder and the Palisade operated normally until we arrived at our destination. I am writing to report a serious safety defect regarding my 2024 Hyundai Palisade. While driving at approximately 6 mph, the vehicle went over a bump in the road. Immediately after hitting this bump, the vehicle began violently shaking and steering out of control. This shaking did not stop or diminish on its own. I immediately attempted to apply the brakes, but the brake pedal became extremely hard to press, requiring significant physical effort to slow down. The violent shaking only ceased once I managed to bring the vehicle to a complete stop.This condition represents a severe, immediate safety hazard. I frequently have my children in the car and use this vehicle for work travel, which requires utilizing highways with speeds greater than 60 mph multiple days of the week. This failure caused a sudden loss of vehicle control and a compromised braking system. I am terrified of the catastrophic consequences if this violent shaking and brake failure happen again at highway speeds with my children inside.Component / System Failure:UNKNOWN. The exact mechanical or electronic system that malfunctioned is currently unknown. The vehicle is parked and is available for inspection upon request.Warning Lamps / Prior Symptoms:There were no warning lamps, error messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. It occurred suddenly and without warning.Testing / Inspection Status:The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by an independent service center, nor has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. The incident occurred over the weekend, and I am taking the vehicle directly to the Hyundai dealership for a full safety check on Monday morning as soon as they open.

I was a making a left hand turn at a stoplight. The light turned yellow, and as I was in the intersection, I pressed the gas pedal to complete the turn. The pedal went to the floor, but the car did not accelerate. It barely rolled forward. I had to slam on the brake so I would not roll into the intersection, and turn. I reeased the pedal, and tried again, and the vehicle did accelerate. This failure has happened 4 times to me. I have also had the experience with making a right-hand turn from a stop. Again, when depressing the accelerator, the engine did not go. In one case it was delayed, then sped up very quickly. I has been to the dealer twice, once for 2 days, and once for 9 days. They have been unable to find anything wrong. I was able to demonstrate the problem with a technician in the vehicle, but he really could not see me depressing the gas, so was really unable to experience that I had a problem, even though I verbally mentioned the incident. The car at the time had less than 500 miles on it. To summarize. I have experienced left-hand turn problems 4 times, and right hand problems twice., or a total of 6 times.

2025 Palisade Night edition black grill and associated trim will peel and flake paint off from normal wear and tear including hand washing. I am on my third grill and trim which was installed damaged. This is like no vehicle I have ever owned in terms of the sensitive nature of the front grill components. They have not corrected the parts and they continue to fail.

I am writing to formally request reconsideration of Hyundai’s denial of assistance for the transmission failure in my 2021 Hyundai Palisade. I purchased this vehicle with the expectation that Hyundai vehicles are built to provide dependable transportation and that major components such as the transmission would last well beyond the current mileage and age of the vehicle. Unfortunately, I have experienced a significant transmission failure that has resulted in substantial repair costs. I have made every effort to properly maintain this vehicle and have acted responsibly as an owner. Given the relatively recent model year of the vehicle, I believe a transmission failure of this magnitude is unreasonable and may indicate a defect in materials or workmanship. I respectfully request that Hyundai review my case again and consider providing goodwill assistance, cost-sharing, or full coverage of the transmission repair. As a long-time consumer, I am extremely disappointed with the current outcome and hope Hyundai will stand behind its product. I would appreciate a written response explaining the reason for the denial and any options available for further review.

Five days after I bought my vehicle, I was driving down the freeway that was very empty. A small rock hit my windshield, I think… I never saw anything. It caused an explosion on the right side of my windshield and glass shattered inside the vehicle. I made a claim with my insurance and pay the $500 deductible and got the windshield replaced. Two days after I replaced the windshield, a small something hit my windshield and made a tiny rock chip. A few days later, I went to get the rock chip repaired, and as soon as the technician put the device and started to fill the rock chip, the wind shield cracked halfway across. I have been driving for almost 40 years and I have replaced one windshield and repaired maybe three rock chips. To have had a car for five weeks (two of which I couldn't drive because the windshield "exploded" crack was too deep), and already have paid TWO $500 deductibles and made two windshield claims is absolutely unbelievable. There has to be a flaw in the glass. The auto glass professionals said that they have replaced three windshields on Palisades in the past week.
