We purchased a New 2026 Hyundai Palisade Limited. We drove two other palisades (XRT and SEL). We did not have any issues with the windshield. We purchased a Limited trim that was not on the lot, but in a different city with the same company. We did not drive a Limited or Calligraphy since we drove two other palisades. When I drove off the lot with our new Palisade I noticed the vision through the windshield didn't seem right (like a fishbowl when looking right and cars in front at a certain distants). We thought, let's give it a week or two, since we many not be use to the new SUV. After less than two weeks we both said something isn't right with the windshield, still was distorted (fishbowl) type of look when driving. The dealship looked at it and said, this is how Heads Up Displays (HUD) are. They called Hyundai, Hyundai said the same thing. We do not have a HUD in our limited. The dealership said, yes you have a HUD on your Limited. After the dealership did more research they found out we do not have the Heads Up Display. Since the windshield contains the HUD and Acoustic for Limited and Calligraphy we do not have an option do replace the windshield with a lower line e.g. SEL. We are stuck with driving a car that could cause an acident due to not having a clear picture of vehicles in front or when turning right. We don't have no options but to drive a hazad SUV.

On XXX at approximately 5:20 PM, I was driving my 2025 Hyundai Palisade in [XXX] near [XXX] and [XXX] when the front sunroof glass suddenly shattered with a loud explosive sound. The outside temperature was approximately 102°F and conditions were sunny. I did not see or hear any object strike the sunroof before the glass failed. There was no collision or other event immediately preceding the failure. The interior sunshade was closed and contained much of the shattered glass. The front sunroof glass was extensively fractured while the surrounding roof and rear roof glass showed no apparent impact damage. I purchased this 2024 Hyundai Palisade new, delivered XXX. Beginning XXX, at only 3,954 miles, I began experiencing a recurring defect in which the front windshield wipers freeze, stick, or stop moving mid-stroke while the vehicle is being actively driven. This is most dangerous during heavy/pouring rain, when losing wiper function eliminates my ability to see the road ahead. I have brought the vehicle to Freehold Hyundai ([XXX] [XXX]) eight separate times for this same defect: - XXX (3,954 mi): reported, dealer could not verify, no action - XXX (8,620 mi): reported, dealer could not verify, no action - XXX (9,335 mi): reported, dealer could not verify, no action - XXX (15,748 mi): reported, dealer checked wipers, reported "operating normal" - XXX (48,329 mi): both front wipers not operating normally, windshield linkage flagged as cause - XXX (48,901 mi): wiper arm found bent; arm and linkage replaced - XXX (53,512 mi): noise from wipers, factory wipers recommended - XXX (55,843 mi): wiper arm moving slow and stopping mid-stroke; technician found high electrical resistance in the wiper motor cond internal/electrical failure, but the defect continues to occur. I have video documentation of the wipers freezing while driving in the rain. This is an ongoing, unresolved safety hazard. While the vehicle was being driven, the sunroof became inoperable, stuck in the tilt position. The motor could be heard running but the glass panel would not move in either direction. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms before the failure. The dealership disassembled the sunroof and found that a spring on the passenger-side sunroof rail had broken, and that the broken spring damaged the rail itself. The dealer confirmed the failure matches Hyundai TSB 23-BD-003H-1, Sunroof Wind Deflector and Mechanism Replacement, issued April 2023. That bulletin applies to certain 2020-2022 model year Palisade vehicles equipped with a sunroof and produced before 5/4/2022, and describes the wind deflector malfunctioning and damaging the sunroof mechanism, leaving the sunroof inoperable. My vehicle falls within that range and experienced that failure. The dealership was able to move the glass panel into a fully closed, flat position, where it appears normal. However, because the rail is broken, the panel is not harnessed in the rail. It can be pushed upward by hand from the passenger side. The dealership stated the panel could move at highway speed and that the vehicle is not secure against entry in this condition. For that reason the dealership has kept the vehicle since 8/24/2026 and provided a loaner rather than returning it to me to drive. The technician documented no signs of misuse or outside damage and noted that the sunroof is rarely used. The vehicle and the broken component are available for inspection. The manufacturer was notified and declined goodwill assistance, citing the vehicle's time in service and mileage. The repair was quoted at approximately $3,500 and has not been performed. Mileage at diagnosis was 83,069.

The contact owns a 2020 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. Several unknown warning lights illuminated, and the engine seized. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with spark plug and ignition coil failures. The contact was informed that the spark plugs and ignition coils needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact was informed that the oil was a quart and a half low. The contact was advised to add a quart of oil to the engine every 1,000 miles. The failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed solenoid. The contact was informed that the solenoid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact stated that since the vehicle was purchased, the vehicle had displayed nineteen fault codes. The contact stated that months later, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger's side sunroof arm deflector detached. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed that the passenger's side sunroof arm deflector had detached. In addition, the contact was informed that the driver's side sunroof arm deflector was fractured. The dealer attempted a temporary repair using tape, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the dealer reapplied tape, but the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the temporary application of tape and debris had detached. The force of the wind caused the driver's side sunroof arm deflector to detach. In addition, the contact stated that the loud sound and the debris from the sunroof were over the contact's head. Windshield accumulated a lot of pitting in a certain area while driving within the first 27,000 miles. Noticed this after washing wind shield of bugs. One pit expanded to a 1/2 inch crack when turning into the driveway, just off the drivers side lower edge. It later expanded to the edge and and half way across the windshield.

My 2024 Hyundai Palisade windshield cracked without any impact. It didnt break but we noticed the crack by chance and were alarmed to see a 10'' crack while there was no audible sound of any impact from any flying debris. Vehicle was purchased new in June 2026. Within approximately six weeks of ownership, I am on my third windshield. Two windshields have fractured after minor impacts from small pebbles or road debris. Incident 1 occurred on or about June 11, 2026. The impact was not audible and was not noticed at the time it occurred. The damage was discovered later as a spider crack approximately the size of a coin, originating from a single point of impact. The crack subsequently propagated well beyond the initial impact point. The windshield was replaced with OEM glass. Incident 2 occurred on July 21, 2026. Light road debris struck the windshield during normal driving, again producing an initial spider crack roughly the size of a coin at the point of impact. This crack likewise spread beyond the initial damage. The windshield again requires replacement. In both cases the initiating impact was minor - in the first instance, not forceful enough to be heard from inside the vehicle - yet each produced a spider fracture that propagated rather than remaining localized. Two windshield failures from low-energy debris strikes in six weeks is not consistent with normal glass performance. The windshield is a structural component of the vehicle and serves as the mounting point for the forward-facing ADAS camera. Glass that fractures and propagates this readily from routine road debris presents an unreasonable safety risk: it obstructs the driver's forward view, compromises occupant retention in a rollover or frontal collision, and requires repeated ADAS recalibration. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred. This failure pattern appears consistent with numerous existing NHTSA complaints regarding Hyundai Palisade windshields across multiple model years.

Pressed button to open glass sunroof and glass panel crookedly began opening with one side opening farther than the other until it stopped midway with a loud grinding noise. It stopped crooked in the tracks. It would not open. It would not completely close and the rear was left protruding above the roof line. There was nothing holding the back of the glass panel to the tracks. I could lift the back freely. A strong gust of wind or a passing truck could lift the panel. If the glass panel were to separate from the vehicle, a displaced panel could increase the potential of a crash or injury to other road users. I did not feel it was safe to drive it on the highway and took it to the Hyundai dealer where it sat until repaired on 4/7/2026 with redesigned deflector attachments, carriage bars and driving wedges. Hyundai TSB 23-BD-003H-1 describes this cascading failure of the defective air deflector breaking apart and damaging the sunroof tracks and specifies redesigned parts but fails to take in consideration that the glass panel is not held firmly in place once the connection between panel and tracks have failed. Prior to the sunroof’s failure I was unaware that a TBS had been issued. I had only opened the sunroof about a dozen times and received no warning of the failure. Subaru has issued a vehicle recall 26V346 which also results in a loose glass roof as a recognized safety risk including crash, fire, health, injury. Please encourage Hyundai to recognize the safety risk of a potential crash or injury to other road users of a loose glass sunroof as Subaru has and not as a warranty issue.

The wipers stopped working midway and they wouldn’t come back on until 15 minutes afterwards. It was pouring down rain and the visibility was terrible and couldn’t see anything in front of me. Our safety was at risk because of the wipers and windshield. We just got our vehicle on 5/12 - and on 5/20 it first happened then took it in - got a loner car - picked up the vehicle 5/21 and on 5/23 the wipers stopped working again and our safety was at risk and visibility was awful. On our vehicle has been at the dealership since 5/25 and haven’t heard from them yet.

There is an ejection mitigation recall and no remedy from Hyundai in the near future. This sets us up for future injury to my children in the event we are in an accident. This also will result in a lawsuit by us to Hyundai should I or my children are injured or maimed in the event thus vehicle does not properly protect us in an accident. The seat belts are recalled as well and parts are on back order. The solution from Hyundai is to continue to use the defective belts with minor children and hope for the best. This is simply unacceptable.

The rear seat belts also failed to buckle securely and were frequently unlatched while children were inside the vehicle. Vehicle has approximately 41,000 miles on it; rear view mirror broke loose from the windshield; had to have the windshield replaced as it pulled some of the glass from the windshield when it broke loose; went to Safe-lite glass shop and the owner told me they see lots of Hyundai Palisades with the same issue; $2,000 at the dealership and $1,200 at Safe-lite. The OEM windshield glass in this vehicle is a safety hazard. Who knows how it would react in a collision?

Small rock chip in windshield and the next day it was already a long crack formed that is taking up the entire driver view. How this cracked after sitting in my garage overnight is beyond me. I have now been told by the dealership (Northwest Hyundai in Houston) that my dealer windshield coverage only covers up to $1,000 and the replacement is almost $1.900. he said there is no aftermarket options to get it for less. When I bought the car, they said the overage would cover the cost to replace the entire windshield if needed. (I know never buy the dealer add on, but it was a crunch situation to get the car I needed, and I got it for MSRP with the dealer add ons anyways so figured hey if something happens at least I dont have to pay for a new windshield.... welp-- didnt expect to deal with a chip during into a long crack over night.

The windshield is very flimsy and driving with a cracked windshield is a safety issue.
