Component: Suspension: Front: Control Arm: Left Lower Arm Description: While operating the vehicle at approximately 5 mph, the left (drivers' side) front lower control arm suffered a catastrophic structural material failure, snapping completely into two parts by the ball joint without warning. The structural failure caused the front wheel assembly to collapse outward, ripping the axle out of the transmission and immediately severing steering control and braking. The vehicle immediately pulled to the left and came to a complete stop. The sudden loss of vehicular control created an immediate, severe safety hazard on a public roadway. Considering that 10 minutes prior, the vehicle was traveling at interstate highway speeds; lives were possibly saved by the failure at the point in time it did fail. The left fender was also damaged and blocked, exiting from the driver's side door. There was also damage to the struts as well as damage to the stabilizer bars on the struts. The axle was also disengaged from the transmission as well. Inspection of the failed component reveals a complete cross-sectional fracture of the metal housing, which represents a severe structural manufacturing or metallurgical defect. The failed component and photographic evidence have been preserved for engineering analysis. The AAA Service Center confirmed the issue in the repair invoice and a secondary email from the service center elaborated on the issue. No other representatives have inspected the component since the incident. There were no issues prior to the failure, but the vehicle had to be previously towed on 06/02/2026 due to a battery fuse assembly that was preventing the vehicle immobilizer from disengaging. The tow required skids since the front wheels were locked in place and there was no way to disable them. The tow was provided by AAA on 6/1/26 to my local Nissan Dealership. On 6/2/26 a diagnostic and a multipoint inspection was completed and the fuse assembly was replaced.

The right front quick strut coil spring on our 2014 Nissan Rogue is broken. I called Nissan to ask if they would cover the repair because Rogues from 2014-2016 suffered this defect because the anti-corrosion coating was not done correctly. Nissan said our model was not covered by the recall. The broken spring was discovered during the yearly inspection, and the shop that did the inspection quoted us $840 plus tax to replace both front coil springs. I have part of the broken spring and will keep the other half once the repair is done if you need it.

2023 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle fishtailed. The vehicle was taken to two dealers where one, the issue could not be duplicated and the other the vehicle was diagnosed with knocking noise, bolt that was loose inside of the cradle at the bottom of the suspension that holds everything up. a common concern and characteristic of the vehicle one dealer diagnose as The vehicle was not repaired. On 4/14/26 my local Nissan dealership technician discovered that my rear lower control arm is severely corroded, with a hole rusted completely through the structural metal (see attached dealer photo). The technician flagged this as a critical safety risk. While Nissan previously issued a service campaign (P9324) and a 10-year warranty extension for identical failures in Altima and Maxima models in 'Salt Belt' states, my Rogue is currently excluded. I have been quoted $1,700 by an independent mechanic to replace these parts, and the dealership estimated the cost would be even higher. I am reporting this to document that this safety defect is present in the Rogue fleet and to urge an investigation. This corrosion creates an immediate risk of the control arm snapping, which could lead to a sudden loss of vehicle control.

My 2020 Nissan Rogue has 28,000 miles. It was purchased new in June 2021. I began hearing a knocking noise that seem to migrate around most areas of the car almost a year ago (early 2025). The Nissan dealership now tells me that all the bushings in the suspension/steering system are failing. When I looked online, and there are apparently thousands of this failure reported for the Nissan Rogue dating back to before 2018 models. This is widely reported a systemic problem with the Nisan Rogue. It involves serious safety issues. How can it not be subject to recall?

This complaint concerns a 2016 Nissan Rogue purchased from a used-vehicle dealership and involves safety-related defects present at or shortly after sale, raising concerns regarding inspection adequacy, disclosure accuracy, and systemic sales practices. Within days of purchase, the vehicle exhibited active water intrusion through the moonroof, interior ceiling stains, mold spotting, and moisture exposure to electronic components. These conditions indicate prolonged or pre-existing water intrusion rather than post-sale wear. Service personnel later advised that the vehicle showed indicators consistent with prior water or flood-related damage. The vehicle also demonstrated multiple mechanical and electrical malfunctions affecting safety and drivability. Subsequent inspection determined that handling and pulling issues were not caused by wheel alignment, but by worn sway bar frame bushings and cracked CV axle boots on both sides, indicating suspension and drivetrain deterioration. Noise initially attributed to rear brake issues was later identified as wheel bearing failure after prior evaluations misdiagnosed the source. Wheel bearing degradation is a progressive condition consistent with pre-existing mechanical wear. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, the airbag warning light illuminated. I took the vehicle to a Nissan dealership in Texas for diagnosis. The technician confirmed that the airbag fault was present before the vehicle was sold to me. According to the diagnostic records, the selling dealer (Kelly Nissan in Oak Lawn, Illinois) had previously scanned the airbag system, identified an airbag fault code, cleared the code without performing the repair, and then proceeded to sell the vehicle. This means the airbag defect existed at the time of sale and was intentionally or negligently undisclosed. The system continues to show a malfunction indicator, and the Clay Cooley Nissan dealership in Richardson, Texas identified the issue as an electrical airbag system failure requiring a repair estimated at $2,304.15. This defect affects the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), which may result in: Airbags failing to deploy during a crash Improper deployment Increased risk of injury or death The vehicle is unsafe to drive in its current condition. The selling dealer refuses to authorize repair outside Illinois, leaving me with an unsafe vehicle that cannot be feasibly transported. Nissan Corporate states this is the dealer's responsibility and will not intervene. Given that this defect relates directly to the federally regulated airbag safety system, I am requesting NHTSA’s investigation into whether this represents a broader issue of airbag system defects or improper clearing of airbag fault codes prior to sale by the dealer.

When recently driving my 2024 Nissan Rogue on(7/4), I noticed and felt knocking and it seemed as something was loose in the wheel suspension on the front passenger side. I also experienced vibration in the steering wheel. It felt as if the suspension was coming apart. I pulled over to see if something was under the car, but there was nothing. After driving a couple of miles, it decreased but it still happens every now and then. I took it to the Nissan dealership for an evaluation. They checked it out but could only reproduce the knocking noise once, and it wasn't that severe so there wasn't anything that they could do. They checked the suspension and everything checked out okay. So I'm still driving my vehicle, but I don't feel 100% safe, because I don't want to be on the highway and this happens again. I feel that there is something wrong,but I guess it won't get fixed until it actually breaks. I wanted to report this issue in case any other Rogue owners experienced the same problem.

I noticed my back wheel making a rubbing sound. When I stopped vehicle I noticed the back tire was leaning. Thought it was wheel bearing. Had it replaced and tire still was leaning. After closer inspection the suspension trailing control arms had rusted into causing tire to lean. It was on rear driver side. After inspection the rear passenger was also rusted and the metal was split. My concern is that this has happened to more vehicles like this and tire has broken off causing or could cause injury. I would have not thought a major part of an automobile would rust this quickly.

I took it to Hgreg twice. Because I was loosing air in my passenger tire. They told me there was a nail in it. Hut never plug it. They zip tie the bottom where everything was hanging. My 5 days was up. For me to return my vehicle
