The drivers side front seat belt stopped retracting. It was fixed when the warranty was good. I also reported the passenger side, later wasn't retracting. It retracted fine when the dealer had it so they didn't do anything with it. Now the warranty is up and it's hardly ever retracting but they want me to pay for it even thought I reported it when the warranty was good. Also, the driver's side seat belt doesn't always latch. You have to shove it in several times sometimes before it clicks. Sometimes you think it's in and it will unhook later while you're driving down the road.

I have had numerous safety warning messages display upon startup and also while driving. The messages are usually combined with a cold ambient temperature and do not display during warm temperatures. The FCA dealership has attempted to fix this issue on at least six different occasions so far without any change. To date, FCA has replaced the original battery, they have updated, flashed the ECU module, performed NHTSA Recall B4C for flashing the cluster, and most recently they replaced the ORC module. FCA indicated that NHTSA-25V882 was not applicable to my VIN despite my VIN production date in April '25; within your suspect period. Original issue remains, FCA STAR case generated however cannot replicate error condition for FCA engineers. The next scheduled visit to FCA is to replace a telematics module for possible link to issue with the Uconnect5 system. This safety issue was first noted before 800 miles and continues through 2768 miles thus far. As this issue pertains directly to a vital Air Bag sensor issue and the inability to call for a SOS assistance, I expect the NHTSA to raise this concern with FCA USA and to determine the cause of this safety defect and issue a new Recall Notification for repair and/or replacement of affected parts.

I purchased this new ram in 2023. About 18 months just over 36k miles on vehicle drivers side seat belt quit retracting leaving it loose on my chest. I reported this to dealership and apparently Ram would not warranty as it was over 36k miles. I got a quote to repair, and it was over 500.00 dollars to replace the retractor. Now obviously this is a safety concern because my seat belt is loose fitting. I didn't repair as i was upset and felt taken advantage of. Then about a year later my passenger rear seat belt quit working where my [XXX] son rides as it is the safest place in the vehicle. I called my dealer again and same response now the quote is over a thousand dollars. I paid 73K for this vehicle and how is it the most basic safety equipment required by law to wear isn't covered by the Manufactures. I called Ram made a complaint and was given a claim number for cost assistance to replace seat belts only to later get a call back by case supervisor saying there would be no assitance as it was against strict guidelines that RAM was not responible and would not help. Im super frustrated and am looking for any avenue to get help bringing justice to the consumer. THIS IS NEGLIGENT FROM RAM and i will not stop until this is dealt with in a fair and professional matter. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The seatbelt retraction system on my truck has been replaced twice on the drivers side and once on the passenger side. The truck only has 40,000miles. The seatbelt retractors don't keep the shoulder strap tight when you move or get the belt first buckled. This can cause an issue if you are to get in an accident when the belt is not tight against your shoulder.

The ABS, traction control, and 4x4 lights all came on at the same time. None are operable. During my research I was able to find recall 75b that aligns with the exactly with my current set of issues. 24v-653 is the NHTSA recall number associated. I need that recall added to my vehicle so I can get the very unsafe issue fixed

The rear right seat belt became stuck and would not release, trapping my [XXX] son. Although the buckle was unlatched, he was entangled in the seat belt, and the retraction system would not loosen. The vehicle was stationary at the time of the incident. Due to the inability to safely release the seat belt, emergency services were contacted. Police and fire department personnel responded to the scene and conducted an assessment. Based on their evaluation, they determined that the safest and most appropriate course of action was to cut the seat belt in order to free my son. This type of malfunction has never occurred previously with this vehicle. At no point before or during the incident were any warning lights, alerts, or messages displayed indicating a restraint system fault. 2024 RAM 2500 Bozeman, MT

SEAT BELTS

Twice, the seatbelt recoil mechanism has failed. Not only will the seatbelt not self retract, potentially leaving a considerable amount of slack in the seatbelt, but also the seatbelt does not stop when it is pulled quickly, meaning that it doesn't actually do anything in the case of an accident. The original seatbelt on this vehicle did the same thing, and after I had it replaced, the replacement does the same thing, indicating that it is clearly a faulty component at a scale larger than an individual faulty piece.

2022 RAM 2500 Weaverville, NC

SEAT BELTS

The rear passenger side seatbelt is locked. Our son was exiting the car ( and told us he couldn’t get his belt to retract. We also tried to get the belt to retract but were unable to do so. The truck has not been in any accidents, no visible wear on the seatbelt. We typically use the rear seatbelts for our children but now we cannot ride with 5 passengers safely in the vehicle. We took the truck to a RAM dealership in Hendersonville, NC who told us we would need to pay nearly $600 to repair the belt. With the truck only being a few years old and no collisions or incidents, it seems like a manufacturer defect.

Contacted FCA Recall Assistant Center on 10/23/2024 and filed a complaint against Corwin Chrysler Dodge, 3306 E. Kearney St., Springfield, MO., 65803 regarding Safety Recalls that Corwin Chrysler Dodge fraudulently checked off in the system as fixed, but they were not fixed. Case# [XXX] was assigned to the complaint. Keith is the assigned CS Manager and can be reached at 844-378-0575, ext: 3124. Keith informed us today that his hands are tied at this time and he doesn't have the authority to uncheck the safety recalls in the system that would be up to the dealership Corwin Chrysler Dodge in Springfield, MO. As of today, January 15, 2025, we still do not have resolution to this issue. We were informed to reach out to James River Dodge RAM, Ozark, Missouri. List of recalls below that we are aware that were completed by Corwin Chrysler Dodge of Springfield, Missouri. 1. Water Pump Recall T51 (Corwin Chrysler Dodge completed) 2. New Tailgate Latch U74 (Corwin Chrysler Dodge completed) We spoke to David, Service Manager, on 10/25/2024 and was informed since the system shows everything regarding the safety recalls for this vehicle are checked off in the system as fixed by Corwin Chrysler as completed. David told us that the safety recalls in the system that are showing fixed would need to be unchecked in the system in order for his team to recheck all the recalls on this vehicle and get paid for the service, because Corwin was paid for fixing the safety recalls when they checked them off in the system. 1. Steering - Drag Linkage Welded V06 (James River Chrysler could visibly see this was completed (10/25/2024) 2. Truck Engine Recalibration 67A (James River Chrysler completed on 10/25/2024) No other recalls to the best of our knowledge have been fixed on our 2016 RAM, Dodge Laramie 2500, 6.7L, Diesel Motor, vehicle. Passenger side seatbelt locked in place and would not release. It continued to retract but would not release. We had to use the emergency release mechanism at the base to get the passenger free from the seatbelt. This was super scary. The seatbelt is in perfect condition, the truck has never been in an accident or had any other issues. It has been perfectly maintained. We took the vehicle into the closest dealer and they stated that it was a known issue and charged us $200 to replace a solenoid part. We googled the issue and found thousands of people that had the same issue. We called Chrysler Ram at 800-853-1403 and they said there wasn't a recall for this truck specifically, but it was very similar to several other recalls for seatbelts for the same year and model of truck; however there was nothing that they could do to help.

The passenger side seat belt retractor failed on this truck a couple of months ago. We had the parts replaced by the local dealer and did not think anything about it until our second truck also had the same issue and seriously hurt my mother. Report number 11597310. As the same part failed on two different trucks in a short period of time, we googled the issue and found lots of other RAM truck owners complaining of the same issue. We called RAM and they said there is no recall for the issue and there was nothing they would do. If this part fails, causing the retractor to lock and continue to "rachet" down on the passenger is could cause serious harm to people. My mother was hurt and we had to force the emergency release at the base of the seatbelt to get her out. If a person is alone in the vehicle when this part fails there is no way they could escape and it could cause a fatality.

Air bag is showing not working and seat belt shows not secure along with warning light on dash. Not feeling secure in driving vehicle with kids or myself, dealer was advised and would not replace it unless i paid for it $1000.00 and they charged $200.00 to diagnose the issue that is considered a safety problem. Warning lights all over the dash, not safe driving. They are telling me its the occupant restraint module thats faulty

My 2500 RAM longbed crewcab is a "Tradesman", i am a contractor, so i put a lumber rack on my truck because i also am a TRADESMAN! Problem is this bed rail is 80% hollow and covered with cheap Chinese plastic. I have stress fractures on the outside sheetmetal body panels. And this is with an empty rack 99% of the time. If a work truck cannot be used for work then what the hell is it good for? What the hell do i do about a steadily growing fracture in the structural steel bed? Seatbelt springs are pathetic and barely retract, half the time they remain loose. Drivers side has been replaced and still does not properly retract

Front driver side seat belt does not retract/lock as it should. I'm worried for our safety if an accident occurs and the seatbelt does not hold driver in place. Has not been seen by dealer due to dealership wanting me to pay out of pocket. First started a few months back and has not resolved its self.

Safety belt does not automatically wind back up when released. You have to manually guide it back into place. Also the safety belt does not get tight while driving it lays loosely across my chest.
