VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

On August 15, the car with 55611 miles the car gave the error Power Steering malfunction. Steering power low. Also lights indicating cruise control, lane departure and collision warnings have been disabled. On August 17, I drove the vehicle to the Toyota dealership where I purchased it and they gave me a quote for $5492.72 to fix the issue because it was out of warranty and I did not buy an extended warranty. I took the vehicle home and parked it. Steering the vehicle is extremely hard and all safety features ADAS are disabled.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

While driving my 2026 Toyota Camry LE Hybrid at approximately 10 mph in a parking lot, the vehicle accelerated on its own without any input from me. I applied hard braking to bring the vehicle under control. No collision occurred. The specific component or system that failed is UNKNOWN — I suspect the speed control, powertrain, or electrical throttle system, but this has not yet been diagnosed. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because the vehicle accelerated unexpectedly at low speed in a parking lot, an environment with pedestrians, parked vehicles, and other close-proximity hazards. I had to brake hard to stop it, which could have resulted in a collision with another vehicle, a pedestrian, or a fixed object had I not been able to react in time. The problem has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer. I reported the incident to Toyota the day after it occurred; Toyota opened case number 260811002989 and scheduled a diagnostic inspection appointment. As of this filing, that inspection has not yet taken place. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms before or during the incident. The dashboard showed no malfunction indicators at any point.

2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid Northridge, CA Crash

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

I encountered an accident on 6/6/2026 due to a sudden acceleration of this car. I stepped on the gas pedal slightly to move the car approximately one foot to the curve to park, when all of a sudden the car suddenly accelerated full force that it jumped over the curve and hit the wall of the restaurant. I asked Toyota to investigate the content of the black box. Toyota told me that the result and resolution should be out in 30 to 45 days. It’s been more than 45 days and I have been calling them and Toyota still cannot provide with the formalized result of their investigation. The data from the vehicle’s black box was obtained on 6/19/2026. My car is still on the repair shop. I want to know how the government can help me . I am convinced that this vehicle is defective, it has only 1,600 miles.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL:ACCELERATOR PEDAL

The brushed aluminum sport PEDALS remains slippery when it rains and during snow conditions in 2025, worst snow seasons. It doesn’t have enough slip rubber studs covering and its anti slip functionality remains unsafe for drivers. How can you help us fix this problem?

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Toyota is putting people who purchased their new vehicles at risk. They have my car sitting here with an extraordinarily dangerous recall which they promised to fix by march but they haven't & it is already nearly June. It literally says the car can blow up. The recall says there's a belt problem & it can blow up at certain speeds & it can be fatal. That is crazy. if they cant fix it then they should recall the entire car & give us our money back so we can buy something safe. This is insane already

2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid san Antonio, TX Crash 1 injured

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

The driver of a 2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid experienced a serious safety event involving both the seatbelt restraint system and vehicle speed control systems. While operating the vehicle, the driver-side seatbelt allegedly disengaged/unlatched unexpectedly. The driver was properly restrained prior to the incident and did not intentionally release the seatbelt. The disengagement occurred immediately before or during a single-vehicle crash. During the crash sequence, airbags deployed. However, it appeared that the vehicle continued to move forward under cruise control or sustained throttle input even after airbag deployment.

2025 Toyota Camry Hybrid Simi Valley, CA

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Several times when I have honked my horn on my 2025 Camry SE cruise control has engaged. That is a dangerous situation if I'm trying to avoid a slow vehicle or accident and the vehicle goes into cruise control mode. Not sure what Toyota can do about this as the cruise control buttons are on the right side of the steering wheel behind the horn. Maybe it is overlapping or too close. There are auto braking cruise control options with the Camry but there is also a disengage non control mode that could lead to that accident.

VEHICLE IN MOTION GETTING ONTO FREEWAY. PRESSING GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE CAR NOT ACCELERATING BEYOND 40MPH AND FELT LIKE IT WAS BEING FORCED TO ACCELERATE LIKE THERE WAS DRAG AND PULL. CAR JERKED FORWARD A FEW TIMES AS IF IT WAS BEING CHOKED ON GAS. THE HYBRID DIAL WAS BOUNCING ERRATICALLY AS IF IT WAS CONFUSED AND CAR WAS NOT ACCELERATING BEYOND 40 MPH. TOOK IT TO DEALER 1X THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE ISSUE, CALLED TOYOTA CARE AND WAS TOLD ERROR NEEDED DUPLICATING TO BE ADDRESSED. BOTH INCIDENCES HAVE OCCURED WHILE GETTING ONTO A FREEWAY AND PRESSING GAS PEDAL TO MERGE ONTO THE FREEWAY. THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE BOTH TIMES WAS ABOVE 90 DEGREES AND THE CAR HAD BEEN AT REST FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR. I TURNED OFF THE A/C TO REDUCE AMOUNT OF POWER CAR WAS USING UP IN ORDER TO HELP WITH ACCELERATION. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2019. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO 50 MPH AFTER ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES AND WAS DRIVING WITH HAZARDS ALL THE WAY TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SECOND TIME WHEN GETTING ON THE FREEWAY IT WAS NOT BUSY AND WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO 65 MPH, GOT IT UP TO 40 MPH FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES THEN HIT TRAFFIC AND WAS GOING ABOUT 17 MPH THEN EXITED THE FREEWAY AND TOOK THE STREETS.
