From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015-2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have received an incorrect replacement tensioner cable assembly as part of a previous recall remedy or a subsequent repair. The flexible steel cable connecting the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may be repeatedly bent over the seat side shield as the driver enters and exits the vehicle causing the cable to fatigue and separate.
Risk: A broken pretensioner cable reduces the effectiveness of the driver's seat belt, increasing the risk of injury.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon, and 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the Electronic-Brake Control Module (EBCM) software may activate the driveline-protection system.
Risk: Unintended activation of the driveline-protection system will cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor, causing the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

Risk: As the vacuum level drops, the brake assist decreases, increasing braking effort, extending the distance required to stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles. The vehicles may have a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist, especially during low-speed turning maneuvers.
Risk: If EPS assist is lost and then returns, the driver might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.

12/10/25 took wife’s vehicle to church, came home, at 11:22pm a loud noise from outside brought us out of bed, ran to door, wife asked if I smelled something, went outside and seen the glow from in front of garage, I ran to the garage and saw truck burning from engine bay, hooked up water hose, didn’t faze it, took fire department 20 minutes to show, truck has not been driven since 12/6/25, I live 2.5 miles back in the hills, police asked for surveillance video and showed the truck just started burning under the hood, now I’m getting the run around by AS insurance company

The bus is always parked on the road, my phone slid off the console, when I reached for it, I accidentally moved the truck to the right, and before I hit the bus, I did not have enough time to correct my mistake. I have forgotten everything that occurred from Saturday the 18th up until Friday the 24th. I kept massive migraines the entire week. Now I just have some headaches. The part that scared me the most, is when I realized, not one single air bag deployed. I personally, am so thankful I was able walk away from it. I will never buy another Chevy Silverado.

Driving in Tucumcari New Mexico coming up on a green light that turned from green to yellow to red. I pressed the brake pedal instead of the brakes doing their job in slowing down to come to a stop. The pedal pushed against my pressure a did not allow me to stop or slow down in anyway. Upon this brake failure it made me run the red light an t bone another car in the intersection. This brake failure has cost me my only transportation to work, which is in Reno, Nevada. Now GM has never reached out to speak with me about getting the issue resolved before this accident. Dealership never reached out to me or informed me of any recalls prior to the accident or when I made the purchase in 2024. No warning lights no indicators or on my dash to inform of any problems

We were on the side of the interstate and it was very scary. There were no warning message be fore any of this occurred. There also wasn't any problems before then. ENGINE
While driving, the vehicle suddenly developed a severe, loud mechanical ticking noise from the engine compartment, immediately followed by a drastic loss of engine power and violent vehicle shaking. The vehicle experienced an active cylinder misfire caused by a failure within the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system, where a cylinder deactivation lifter collapsed and became stuck.This mechanical failure creates an extreme safety hazard. The sudden drop in throttle response, engine stuttering, and loss of power impair my ability to maintain highway speeds, merge safely, or accelerate away from oncoming traffic. The engine stumbles significantly under load, risking a rear-end collision on public roads. The vehicle remains unrepaired at this time due to the catastrophic nature of the valvetrain defect and the severe risk of complete engine seizure while in motion. General Motors has failed to issue a safety recall for this known structural valvetrain defect, which poses an immediate hazard to drivers on the road.

I own a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado equipped with a GM V8 engine that experienced significant engine failure symptoms consistent with known GM engine defect issues and related recall/service campaign concerns. Prior to failure, the vehicle began exhibiting abnormal engine noises, warning lights, performance issues, and symptoms indicating internal engine damage. The condition worsened and resulted in major engine failure requiring extensive repair or engine replacement. The failure created safety concerns due to the potential for sudden loss of power and loss of propulsion while driving. Based on the symptoms, model year, and engine configuration, I believe the failure may be related to known GM engine issues involving internal engine components, lifter failures, AFM/DOD system failures, bearing damage, or related defects that have been the subject of recalls, special coverage adjustments, technical service bulletins, or investigations affecting GM trucks and SUVs. I believe the vehicle should qualify for coverage, repair assistance, recall-related repairs, or special policy consideration from General Motors due to the nature of the engine failure and the known history of similar failures affecting comparable GM vehicles. I am requesting that GM review the vehicle history, diagnostics, and failure condition to determine eligibility for recall coverage, special coverage adjustment, warranty assistance, or reimbursement related to the engine failure.

The safety of my family was put at risk because the chevy dealer it was always serviced at never told me about the rust problem even though they did multi point inspections everytime it was serviced at the dealer. Only time I was ever notified about this was when it was to late to fix. Vehicle has been looked at by a frame an Collison center and said a whole new frame is needed that it is not repairable. The Collison center also told me this is a common problem with these trucks due to the layered steel the manufacturer used to make the frame.

I have put 2 cat converters in 2 yrs in this truck there was a recall for an engine control module that when it gets heated could start a fire but it gets too hot and the converter gets clogged and oil starts going through engine. The power steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed electronic power steering module. The contact was informed that the electronic power steering module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed of an unknown recall that had a similar failure description. In addition, the contact was informed that an unknown recall repair was performed on the vehicle in 2017. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
