2022 Chevrolet Suburban Lutz, FL

SEATS

3rd row seat headrest will not stay up. This is a problem with 2021 and some 2022 suburbans Dealer is charging me to replace it. This is a safety issue that should be apart of the original recall # N2022316750

NHTSA complaint #11661393 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2021 Chevrolet Suburban Dallas, PA

SEATS

Seat, mirror, steering column pre-set driver adjustments do not come into proper driving configuration on a regular basis when starting vehicle. This is a dangerous situation when a malfunction does occur. Seat has tendency to squeeze driver torso into steering column and knees into dash. LH mirror inadvertently and unexpectedly tilts down toward the ground and ofter unnoticed. This makes for a dangerous condition where the driver assumes that there is no oncoming rear traffic and it's safe to pull away from a curb from a stopped position. This condition has occurred for over a year and while the vehicle was covered under factory warranty. Numerous trips to Bonner Chevrolet in Kingston service department for remedy have yielded nothing. Bonner Chevrolet walked away from this serious issue and told us there's nothing more they can do and said, sorry. In contact with Chevrolet through Chat messaging, the recommend other surrounding dealers. None are interested at this point. the chat messaging is as useless as Bonner Chevrolet. Meanwhile I'm driving and paying for a useless and dangerous vehicle which no one knows how to repair. This has been an ongoing event since June, 2023.

2021 Chevrolet Suburban Mentor, OH

Second row drivers side seat headrest latching mechanism failed. The head rest will not stay in the upright position and is a safety hazard if someone is sitting in the seat as it hits the passenger in the back of the neck.

2022 Chevrolet Suburban Dallas, TX Crash

SEATS

This is the second Chevrolet Suburban we have owned. In both cars, the middle seat of the 2nd and 3rd row bench seats are missing a head rest. This could result in a severe neck injury to the passenger in a car accident. How is Chevrolet allowed to roll out these cars from the factory with this obvious safety defect?

NHTSA complaint #11520667 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2021 Chevrolet Suburban Novato, CA

NHTSA complaint #11496024 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2006 Chevrolet Suburban Auburn, WA

SEATS

We were driving down Auburn way and the power seat control module failed and keeps the heated seats running out of control. ( fire is likely and could burn your house down If you park in the garage.) I was lucky to be near a dealership I had to pull over quick it was burning my butt and back The problem is complicated by the fact that the seat safety airbag control wiring goes through the same plug, which should be a big no no. There are no replacement control modules available ( not being made). I had the chevy dealership disconnect the plug so the fire hazard is gone but now none of the air bags work now putting my family at further risk. Air bag wiring needs to be separate from all the other wires and plugs for safety. Now the next problem is the dealerships can't fix the problem because no parts are available. You are welcome to come check out my suburban.

NHTSA complaint #11478146 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2005 Chevrolet Suburban Cedar Springs, MI

SEATS

Started with driver side heated seat randomly turning on and off. Going from high, medium, low. No way to turn it off just comes back on. Can hear clicking coming from under dash. Lift gate wiring that goes into body, ground wire burnt. (Replaced) but ground wire has power. (Wiring issue) so rear wiper doesn’t work. “Reading” Lamps only work when door is open. After replacing life gate connector, says lift gate open. Started the repair, which leads to more wiring issues! Needs a recall! Unsafe

NHTSA complaint #11469495 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2015 Chevrolet Suburban Porter, TX

SEATS

The drivers seat back is extremely lose. Moves forward and back with every brake and acceleration. The seat base also moves slightly, rocking left to right in turns. The suspension completely failed and had to be replaced. An unknown oily substance has been coating the inside of the windshield since the purchase of vehicle in 2015. Requires constant deep cleaning in order to see through windshield.

PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THIS WAY, AND MECHANICS SAID GM MADE THE LOW TEMP MANDATORY, TRIED TO EXPLAIN, NOT WORKING AT ALL. THE INSISTED IT WAS A GM MANUFACTURING ISSUE.

2015 Chevrolet Suburban Cornelia, GA

SEATS

I HAVE JUST OVER 84000 MILES ON MY SUBURBAN. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE A/C CONDENSER DUE TO FAILURE IN A WELD AND NOW HAVE TO REPLACE ALL FOUR STRUTS AS THEY HAVE NOW FAILED. I ALSO HAVE PART OF THE HEATED SEATS NOT WORKING AS WELL AS SENSORS THAT NEED TO BE "UPDATED" ALL THE TIME. I FIND IT RIDICULOUS THAT CHEVROLET WILL NOT STAND BEHIND ITS PRODUCT, ESPECIALLY WHEN SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE SAME PARTS OF THE VEHICLE.

NHTSA complaint #11171783 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2005 Chevrolet Suburban Florissant, MO

SEATS

DRIVER SIDE SEAT HEATER RANDOMLY COMES ON AND GOES OFF. MAJORITY OF THE TIME THE HEATER STAYS ON CONSTANTLY AND BECOMES UNCOMFORTABLE. THIS HAPPENS MORE ESPECIALLY IN WET CONDITIONS AND WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO TURN THE HEATED SEAT OFF, THE CONTROLS WON'T WORK. THIS ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE SUV IS STARTED, CONTINUES WHILE IDLING AND WHILE DRIVING. SOME DAYS IT IS HOURS BEFORE IT WILL GO OFF. OTHER DAYS IT WILL NOT GO OFF. THE SCARY THING IS YOU CAN HEAR THE DASHBOARD CLICKING WHEN THE HEATER TURNS ON AND OFF, CONSTANTLY CYCLING THOUGH HIGH TO LOW, BACK OF SEAT TO BOTTOM OF THE SEAT. ADJUSTING THE SEAT IN ANY WAY DOES NOT HELP. I THINK THIS IS A CONCERN DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT TURNS OFF AND ON AND YOU CAN HEAR IT CYCLE THROUGH. IT'S ALSO A MAJOR CONCERN BECAUSE THE HEAT STAYS ON WITHOUT ANY WAY TO TURN IT OFF. THIS STARTED A WEEK AFTER I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND HAS CONTINUED SINCE OCTOBER 2016.

NHTSA complaint #11084513 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.

2014 Chevrolet Suburban at 43,988 miles Reno, NV

WOULD GET INTERMITTENT AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT. TOOK IT TO ONE DEALERSHIP AND FOUND NO CODES. LATER I FIGURED OUT IT WOULD ONLY BE ON WITH A PASSENGER IN THE SEAT AND TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS FOUND TO BE THE PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE. WITH THE LIGHT ON THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. FILED THE COMPLAINT WITH GM WARRANTY DEPARTMENT AS THE TRUCK IS A 2014 MODEL AND ONLY 54,000 MILES, GM WILL NOT WARRANTY OR PAY FOR THE FIX. HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY FEATURE

2005 Chevrolet Suburban Mound City, KS

SEATS

WHILE DRIVING THE DRIVER SIDE HEATED SEATS INGAUGE BY THEMSELVES AND COME ON EVERY TIME WE USE THE VEHICLE. WE HAVE TRIED TURNING THEM BACK OFF, BUT THEY COME RIGHT BACK ON AND WILL CYCLE UP AND DOWN A FEW TIMES THEN STAY IN THE HIGH POSITION. I THOUGHT AT FIRST THAT MY HUSBAND WAS ACCIDENTALLY TURNING THEM ON BUT HE WASN'T. IT DOES IT ALL THE TIME. THERE IS NO RYHME OR REASON TO IT. ITS VERY DISTRACTING TRYING TO TURN THEM OFF OVER & OVER AGAIN. I COULD SEE WHERE IT COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE. I RESEARCH END ON THE INTERNET AND HAVE SEEN HUNDREDS OF POST ON THE SAME ISSUE. NONE OF THEM HELPED WITH A SOULOUTIN TO THE PROBLEM. I PUT MY VIN # IN TO SEE IF THEIR WERE ANY RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE. AND COULDN'T FIND ONE. MY QUESTION IS WHY? WITH AS MANY COMPLAINTS AS THERE ARE ONLINE. NOT SURE IF THEY WERE NOT COMPLAINING HERE ABOUT IT BUT NOW AT LEAST I HAVE. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHOSE DRIVING IT, WHEATER ISN'T A FACTOR EITHER. IN TOWN OR HIGHWAY MAKES NO DIFFERENCE HELP PLEASE
