The contact owned a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated while his wife was driving at approximately 30 MPH she crashed into another vehicle striking the driver's side door of the other vehicle, which then crashed into another vehicle in the rear having been redirected from the force of the impact. The vehicle had been moved in the same direction that the wife's vehicle was traveling. The vehicle that the wife had crashed into had run a stop sign. The contact stated that all the front air bags deployed, however, the wife told him that the passenger side air bag had begun to emit smoke after deploying and then a fire started. The contact stated that the vehicle had stopped after the impact and that his wife was having difficulty unbuckling her seat belt. The wife had stated that OnStar had contacted her the moment following the crash, she told OnStar that she was having trouble unbuckling and that the vehicle was on fire. OnStar released her seat belt. The police, ambulance, and fire department were on the scene. There were no injuries, however, the contact's vehicle was fully engulfed in flames and exploded. The contact stated that the fire department extinguished the fire with water. The police wrote a report. The other two vehicles drove away from the scene, and the contact's vehicle was towed to a police impound lot. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The telematics control module in this vehicle failed. A dealer diagnostic scan on 03/09/2026 at 67,839 miles documented the following active and history codes: U0198 Lost Communication with Telematics Module, reported independently by the Radio, Body Control Module, and Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module; U0499 Invalid Data Received from Telematics Module, reported by the Engine Control Module; U1962 Unable to Authenticate Serial Data Message; B1A1F Ethernet Bus 4 (+) Circuit Open with a Low Voltage/High Temperature symptom; and P00FF Body Control Module Requested MIL Illumination, listed as Current. As a result, the check engine light is commanded on. All OnStar functions are inoperative, including Automatic Crash Response and Emergency SOS, which are safety systems. The OnStar button has no illumination at all. Remote functions and vehicle connectivity are dead. No warning message or notification of a module fault was ever displayed in the vehicle. The infotainment system reports “Your Software is Up-to-Date” and the Device Registration screen reports “Registered.” The last over-the-air software update this vehicle received was in August 2023

I own a 2022 Chevrolet Suburban with approximately 115,000 miles. While driving, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle suddenly entered limp mode. The transmission lost normal operation, including reverse gear, significantly limiting the vehicle’s ability to operate. The failure occurred without warning and created a potential safety concern because the vehicle could no longer respond normally to driving conditions. The vehicle was inspected by a Chevrolet dealership, where technicians diagnosed a failed transmission control valve body and confirmed the valve body required replacement. I paid to have the repair completed. After the repair, I learned that GM issued Special Coverage N242454441 for certain 2021-2022 Chevrolet Suburban vehicles equipped with the same transmission. The bulletin describes premature transmission control valve wear that can cause a service engine light, reduced engine performance, harsh shifting, and requires replacement of the transmission control valve body. My vehicle experienced the same failure and required the same repair, but my VIN was not included in the covered population. I contacted GM before authorizing the repair and requested assistance, but my request was denied because my VIN was not included in the special coverage. I am submitting this complaint because my vehicle experienced the same transmission valve body failure identified by GM despite not being included. I request that NHTSA document this failure and determine whether additional vehicles equipped with the same transmission should be included in any current or future safety investigation.

Having reviewed online your safety recall number N252536750, I am experiencing the same issue (right rear wheel occasionally locks when starting from a standstill and turning right). It only lasts about 1 or 2 seconds while accelerating. However, when I discussed this with my Chevrolet Dealer, I was told that according to the VIN for my 2022 Suburban 3.0L Diesel, I am not part of that recall. I plan to take it to the Chevrolet Dealer very soon for more analysis. However, I wanted to bring this to your attention, as it could be hazardous. I have not gotten any dash warning messages. Having reviewed online your safety recall number N252536750, I am experiencing the same issue (right rear wheel occasionally locks when starting from a standstill and turning right). It only lasts about 1 or 2 seconds while accelerating. However, when I discussed this with my Chevrolet Dealer, I was told that according to the VIN for my 2022 Suburban 3.0L Diesel, I am not part of that recall. I plan to take it to the Chevrolet Dealer very soon for more analysis. However, I wanted to bring this to your attention, as it could be hazardous. I have not gotten any dash warning messages. My 6.2L engine failed on 1/6/26 due to a OEM bearing issue. The vehicle was inspected and engine had to be replaced after the recall and service were done. The vehicle stalled while doing 30 mph on a local road. No warning lights or problems were observed or detected prior to the incident.

6.2l engine was losing power in Oct 2025. Took to dealership to address L87 recall. Oil change was completed and recall was closed. In March 2026, vehicle lost full power while driving on highway with other traffic. Vehicle was towed to dealership. Battery replaced. April 2026, vehicle lost power again on highway with traffic. Vehicle towed back to dealership. Both incidents inbolved children in the car and the vehicle was unresponsive and two crashed were narrowly avoided. GM notified. The instrument cluster displayed a screen with lines. In addition, the contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the instrument panel displayed a blank screen. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed instrument cluster. The contact was informed that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that on March 03, 2026, the vehicle was serviced at the dealer. The contact stated that four unknown recall repairs were performed, and the failure occurred a week after the recall repairs were performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
