THE VECHILE ABS BRAKE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. MY NEW CAR HAS BEEN INCREASING SPEED ON ITS OWN. THE AGENCY HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE A RESOLUTION AND WARNING SENSOR GOES OFF THAT THE BRAKE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. THIS HAPPENED FROM ONE DAY TO THE NEXT, THE TRUCK IS LEFT IN CLEAN GARAGE AND MINIMALLY DRIVEN. THIS MAKES THE TRUCK UNSAFE. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THEY END Y CALL WITHOUT A RESOLUTION.
NHTSA complaint #11363193 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
WHILE DRIVING THE TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS LIGHTS COME ON. SYSTEM HAS STABILITY CONTROL WARNING. WHILE DRIVING THIS CAUSES BRAKES TO LOCK UP. MY WIFE ALMOST CRASHED DUE TO THE BRAKES LOCKING. ONCE YOU TURN OFF THE CAR IT WILL RESET AND EVERYTHING APPEARS NORMAL UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN. UNFORTUNATELY THIS INCIDENT DOES NOT STORE ANY CODES IN THE SYSTEM. WE HAVE HAD THE 2016 EXPOLORER IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE DONE NOTHING TO FIX THE ISSUE. BECAUSE THERE ARE NO CODES THEY ARE DOING NOTHING. THEY DO NOT RESEARCH THE ISSUE NOR HAVE THEY TRIED TO FIX ANYTHING. THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND A PROCEDURE NEEDS TO BE ESTABLISHED TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. MY WIFE WILL NO LONGER DRIVE THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE SHE FEEL UNSAFE.
NHTSA complaint #11362525 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
DRIVING THE CAR AND WARNINGS APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD SHOWING POWER STEERING AND STABILITY CONTROL FAILED. I COULD BARELY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THANK GOD I WAS ON A SIDE STREET NEAR HOME. IF THIS HAPPENED ON A HIGHWAY OR EXPRESSWAY I WOULD LIKELY HAVE LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IT WAS DUE TO FAILURE OF THE STEERING RACK.

GOT IN MY 2015 FORD EXPLORER THIS MORNING STARTED THE CAR BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND IT WOULD NOT STEER NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. APPARENTLY THERE IS A STEERING MODULE WITHIN THE STEERING COLUMN THAT GETS LOCKED BECAUSE OF TRACTION CONTROL? APPARENTLY IF THIS MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THERE ARE SEVERAL INCIDENTS ON SOCIAL MEDIA THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY.

MY POWER STEERING ASSIST WENT OUT MULTIPLE DAYS AS I WENT TO START MY VEHICLE. I TURNED IT OFF AND IT TURNED BACK ON. ON THE FOURTH DAY WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME IT TURNED OFF ON ME AND I LOST POWER STEERING. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND TURNED OFF MY VEHICLE AND TURNED IT BACK ON BUT THE POWER STEERING REMAINED OFF AND MY OTHER SENSORS TURNED OFF AS WELL-STABILITY CONTROL ETC.. I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I NEEDED A NEW POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY AND NEW BATTERY. IT COST ME $2770 TO FIX. THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY TO MY VIN FOR MY 2013 FORD EXPLORER EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FOR THE SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALL.
