Absolutely terrible gasoline vapor filling the inside cabin of the vehicle causing burning eyes, nausea and feeing ill. Checked for fuel, leak, leakage recall, while there was one it wasn’t including our VIN, however, after inspection and repair, it is the exact same damage as what was indicated in the recall. Looking for a full refund for repair and compensation for danger, discomfort, safety and inconvenience of vehicle not being included in the original recall. I am appalled and insulted that JEEP dealerships aren’t more more proactive in having to appeal these dangerous situations.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Corbett, OR

The 2.0L Turbo engine suffers from premature failures. Jeep issued a TSB over leaking around the water pump, but did not notify owners. My engine overheated due to low coolant (there's no low coolant warning), and the temperature gauge proves to be unreliable. My engine suffered a head gasket failure due to overheating, while within the factory warranty period, and Jeep would not honor their warranty. My Jeep only has 33,700 miles on it, and the failure initially happened in 2024. I spent over a year going back and forth with Jeep, and in the end, they simply stopped responding. BTW, tried to upload 2 small .JPG files, but repeatedly said "upload failed".

2022 Jeep Wrangler Dallas, TX

I am reporting repeated premature failures of the factory charge air cooler (turbo intercooler) hoses on my 2022 Jeep Wrangler EcoDiesel (3.0L V6). Within 73,000 miles, both the primary and secondary turbo charge hoses have hardened, cracked, and failed under standard boost pressure. Safety Risk: When these turbo charge hoses split, the engine experiences an immediate and complete loss of boost pressure (limp mode / Code P0299), severely restricting acceleration and vehicle speed. This sudden, unannounced loss of engine power occurs while driving at highway speeds, creating a severe rear-end collision hazard in heavy traffic. Failure History & Repair Documentation: First Hose Failure: Replaced by an authorized Jeep dealership at under 60,000 miles (November 2025). Second Hose Failure: Replaced by an authorized Jeep dealership at 73,000 miles (August 2026). Stellantis/Jeep treats these recurring structural hose splits as non-warranty "wear and tear," forcing out-of-pocket repairs despite the severe highway safety hazard caused by sudden power loss. I am requesting NHTSA open a safety defect investigation into the material failure rate of 3.0L EcoDiesel charge air hoses.

2021 Jeep Wrangler at 56,700 miles Auburn, WA

The contact owns a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the engine overheated, and the vehicle was driving sluggishly with the temperature gauge indicating that the engine was overheating. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined that the coolant reservoir was cracked and was leaking coolant. The coolant reservoir was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to immediately start due to battery failure. No further information was available. 2021 Jeep Wrangler Denver, CO

When using electric mode, repeatedly and consistently, when I try to accelerate (for example to get onto a highway) despite having the acceleration fully depressed, the car does not accelerate. After some time, the gas powered engine will rev, the RPM will shoot up and then the car will start to accelerate. If I slow down the electric engine will take back over, but then if I try to accelerate again the same thing will occur. I have videos of the dashboard confirming electric mode, delay to accelerate and eventual activation of the gas motor and RPMs. This same issue was noted by Jeep technicians after the fix for a previous recall on the battery. This is dangerous, If I am not able to accelerate I can not safely drive change lanes, go onto highways, or avoid danger. it has been occurring, but my first video is from Feb 2026, and most recently July 2026.

While traveling at highway speed on the freeway, the vehicle experienced a sudden and complete loss of motive power/engine shutdown without prior warning. The instrument cluster immediately displayed a vehicle graphic outlined with red lines alongside an alert message instructing to shift the vehicle into Park and turn the engine off. > The sudden loss of propulsion in live freeway traffic created an immediate safety hazard and collision risk while attempting to navigate across active lanes to the shoulder. > The vehicle previously had its high-voltage traction battery replaced approximately one year ago under warranty. This vehicle is subject to two open NHTSA fire-risk recalls. The remedies provided so far have not corrected the underlying defects. Recall 25V-741 (Safety Recall 95B/68C), high-voltage battery fire risk: On 1/9-20/2025, dealer reprogrammed BPCM and TCM software only (Invoice #52682); no parts replaced; mileage 18,680. On 1/6-7/2026 - one year later - the dealer performed a SECOND remedy for the SAME recall: reprogrammed BPCM, AHCP/HCP, and PCM software only (Invoice #61639); no parts replaced; mileage 31,553-31,561. Reprogramming the same modules twice within 12 months for the same fire-risk recall, with no battery hardware ever replaced, indicates the first remedy failed to correct the defect. The recall notice describes battery pack replacement as a possible remedy "if needed," but this has never been performed. Recall 26V363000 (issued 6/4/2026), EPS pump wiring fire risk: On 7/10/2026, dealer inspected the power steering pump harness connector only (Invoice #66268, "Safety Recall 21D"); no parts replaced; mileage 36,871-36,874. Across 3 remedy visits spanning both recalls, only software reprogramming or connector inspection was performed - zero hardware parts replaced. This pattern indicates the fire-risk defects remain uncorrected. Requesting NHTSA review the adequacy of these recall remedies.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Spring Branch, TX

When driving in fully electric mode on the highway, my 4xe lit up an error message of “electric mode temporarily unavailable” and lost all power and momentum. I went from 70mph to 50 mph in heavy traffic before the hybrid motor came back to provide power after approximately 4-5 seconds. This is a repeating occurrence when attempting to drive in fully electric mode, even at low speeds. I have nearly been hit in rear end collisions when I have lost power as there is no warning, the acceleration just fails and I lose all power and momentum.

2015 Jeep Wrangler Charlotte, NC

In October 2025, the Anti-lock Breaking System (ABS) Brake, traction control, downhill control indicators all illuminated. This also impacts cruise control and acceleration from a stopped position. My repair technician placed an order for the necessary ABS control module with MOPAR. The expected delivery date was August 2026. In August 2026, MOPAR informed them the part was on a nationwide back order with no ETR for resolution. I placed an order for the ABS Module in August 2026, with a suggested date of delivery in two weeks. MOPAR has advised us today 18 August 26, there is no ETR for this critical component to be available. Anti-lock brakes are federally mandated in all vehicles 2012 and beyond. Not having this module disables multiple required safety components in the vehicle not just ABS and puts the consumer, other drivers at risk.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving 15 MPH the vehicle experienced a complete loss of automotive power, the steering wheel locked up, and all of the warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle came to a complete stop and was restarted. The contact continued to drive the vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed and the contact was advised that no failure was found. The contact continued to drive the vehicle, and the failure reoccurred while driving at 75 MPH, the vehicle experienced a complete loss of automotive power, the steering wheel locked up, all of the warning lights were illuminated, and the following the message appeared on the instrument panel "Until you reach a desired location you may not be able to shift until serviced, do not take the vehicle out of gear until you are in a safe location". 2024 Jeep Wrangler Lompoc, CA

I am requesting NHTSA investigate the handling of Safety Recall 78C on my Jeep Wrangler 4xe. My vehicle has entered a dangerous highway limp mode multiple times, including at approximately 75 mph, with sudden loss of power and an ACC! warning. This is especially dangerous on California highways and steep grades where losing propulsion can make it impossible to maintain traffic speed or safely reach a shoulder. The ACC! warning has appeared three times. On one occurrence, while the warning was active, O’Reilly Auto Parts scanned the Jeep and documented pending code P2338, Cylinder 3 Knock Control Threshold. I have the printout showing my VIN and mileage.The problem is that the warning/code clears after the ignition is shut off. When the condition happened on a Saturday, the Jeep service department was closed. Dealership sales staff refused to scan it and said only a technician could use a scanner. Even during business hours, the dealer says only a technician can scan it, but technicians may not be available for days. It is impossible to leave the vehicle running indefinitely waiting for someone to scan it. The Santa Maria Jeep dealer has now driven the vehicle twice and says that because the warning did not reappear during those short drives, they cannot confirm the condition. These events have occurred days apart, so two short test drives do not rule out an intermittent engine defect. I had the Jeep towed through Jeep Roadside Assistance because I consider it unsafe to drive. Jeep Cares has assigned me three different case managers in three days. They state they cannot require the dealer to examine deeper stored diagnostic data because they are third-party contractors. I have photos of the ACC! warning, the P2338 diagnostic report, VIN, mileage, tow documentation, and repeated loss-of-propulsion history. Jeep Cares and the dealership won't look deeper or longer even with the proof it was there.

2024 Jeep Wrangler Bemidji, MN

Following the completion of the 68C recall update on 4/17/26 my 2024 Jeep 4xE experiences a severe loss of acceleration and throttle lag at highway speeds (over 50 mph) when in electric mode. When attempting to pass vehicles (and sometimes when in the oncoming traffic lane), or when just trying to maintain speed in traffic, the drivetrain abruptly throttles power; causing the vehicle to bog down and hesitate. There is no ability to accelerate and care slows. The gas pedal is essentially useless. The gas engine then performs a panic start, causing the vehicle to lurch forward at highway speeds. It has created and dangerous driving condition when passing, merging or just trying to keep pace the traffic around me. There is no way to know exactly when it will happen, so the unpredictability makes it even more dangerous. I understand this is an issue with many Jeep 4xE since the 68C recall update. It has happened to me 4 times now, the most recent was today. This is unacceptable.

"My vehicle [XXX] is subject to open Safety Recall for a high-voltage battery fire risk. The manufacturer has issued a 'Do Not Drive' / 'Park Outside' advisory, deeming the vehicle unsafe for operation. The Safety Defect: The vehicle poses an immediate fire hazard while charging or driving due to battery failure. Manufacturer Failure: Despite acknowledging the safety defect, Stellantis (Jeep) and the authorized dealer (Jerry V's Windward Hawaii Kaneohe Jeep) have refused to provide a loaner vehicle or direct-bill rental coverage. They insist on out-of-pocket reimbursement only, which I cannot afford. Impact: I am left without safe transportation for a known life-safety defect. 2020 Jeep Wrangler Brooklyn, NY

While driving on the highway, the check engine light illuminated. Approximately 5 to 10 minutes later, the battery warning light came on. Upon exiting the highway and coming to a stop at an intersection, the automatic engine Start/Stop system engaged and shut down the engine. When attempting to safely proceed, the vehicle suffered a complete electrical failure due to the 48V mild-hybrid eTorque system failing to restart the engine. The vehicle refused to crank, would not shift, and became entirely disabled and stranded in the middle of a live intersection, creating an extreme safety and collision hazard. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealership, where technicians officially confirmed the failure. The dealer diagnosed the root cause as an internal electrical failure of the Motor Generator Unit (MGU / Belt-Driven Hybrid Starter Generator Assembly), which completely disabled the vehicle's charging and hybrid restart capabilities. 2019 Jeep Wrangler Chandler, AZ Fire

VEHICLE & INCIDENT: 2019 Jeep Wrangler JL 2.0L Turbo. While climbing an extended grade on Hwy 87, vehicle experienced a sudden sluggish throttle anomaly and rapid coolant temperature spike from ~215F to 255F under load. Vehicle was pulled off and shut down within ~20 seconds. SUSPECTED FAILURE MODE & UNDERHOOD FIRE: Upon opening the hood, pressurized coolant had sprayed across the engine bay from a split in the smaller rubber hose branch of the engine coolant outlet assembly (Mopar PN 68280797AC). The hose split longitudinally ~13mm with the center ~32mm from the hose end. The vehicle is equipped with a Baja Designs T-Fitting to replace 68280784A The hot, pressurized coolant sprayed directly onto the exposed, center section of the turbocharger between the compressor and turbine sections and on the turbine section itself. The coolant is suspected to have flash-ignited on contact with the turbo, creating an active under hood fire that began spreading to the hood insulation liner. The fire was successfully doused roadside with water, preventing a total vehicle burn-down. No other fuel sources were noted and the lines to the turbocharger were intact and did not show evidence of a leak. SAFETY CONCERN / HAZARD FOR NHTSA: 1. FIRE HAZARD: Pressurized factory coolant hoses and plastic junctions on the 2.0T GMET4 are routed in close proximity to the unshielded turbine housing. A hose rupture under normal grade-climbing thermal loads results in high-pressure atomized coolant hitting an ignition source well above its auto-ignition point. 2. COMPONENT DEGRADATION: Rubber lines near the engine outlet appear susceptible to heat-fatigue failure under high ambient/high load conditions, posing a sudden fire hazard at highway speeds. REPAIR: Roadside trim/re-clamp of the split hose allowed temporary transit. Replacing full hose assembly (68280797AC), upgrading radiator lines, and performing a full OAT coolant flush/vacuum refill. No oil contamination was noted after the incident.

Purchased vehicle in question on 9/11/25 as a lease through the local Jeep dealership near my residence. Sometime around 4/26 to 5/26 my vehicle started to display odd operational patterns which were brought to my local dealerships attention. The first event where I was able to record any type of documentation was around 5/25/26. While driving, the vehicle would suddenly go into "limp mode" and rapidly decrease speed. Several check engine lights would appear to include: Service Electronic Throttle Control, Service Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control and the standard CEL. When this does happen, the vehicle will decrease speed suddenly without warning and becomes difficult to operate until it is pulled over and parked. Vehicle has been to my local dealership several times (4) and out of service for over 70 days with the latest stay 30+ days. According to documentation from the dealership, the listed error/issue has been recreated on their end at least one time but no data was captured with that fail. My local Jeep dealership Service Manager (CF) replied to an email of mine (7/16/26 at 1703) with the following statement: Verified customer concern of check engine light on connect to wytec and found p2173 stored in powertrain control module. Also found c121c stored in ABS module. Believe ABS code is related to PCM code, cleared codes test drove multiple times. Finally able to get customer concern to duplicate but no data was captured on this failure. We are continuing to drive the vehicle while monitoring data to catch freeze frame data while concern occurs but have not been able to do so far at this time. The condition, when it occurs presents a serious safety concern for the driver and other drivers as it will cause a sever throttle limitation and can cause the vehicle to slow down rapidly. As of 8/9/26, no fix confirmed for my vehicle and the dealership and manufacture are pushing to return my vehicle with confirmed fix. Jeep case number 97378351

While driving my vehicle, I have noticed a significant decrease in power and a corresponding slowdown, particularly in traffic conditions. This has resulted in a near-miss collision with another vehicle in the rear. Furthermore, attempting to accelerate the vehicle has proven futile. ps. The dealer where I brought the vehicle is kinda giving me a hard time & I fear for my family safety. honestly I dont feel like the dealer was being completly honest.
