My abs control module is not functioning. The car does not stop properly in wet weather..the traction is effected. The abs control module was inspected by a dealership. The control module is non communicative to the abs module. The brake light, ABS light and the traction light are all on, all the time. I cannot get the vehicle inspected..If rain is dangerous, the upcoming winter is going to be treacherous.. I am extremely concerned for my safety. I’m having a difficult time finding the part for the year of my vehicle and I can’t fix this problem with out mfr intervention. I wrote to the Jeep manufacturer in Michigan for assistance in locating this part and have not heard back. My vehicle is not the only vehicle to have this problem and there should be a recall because the breaking system not functioning is a huge safety issue.

My 2016 Jeep Wrangler is experiencing an ongoing problem with the ABS/braking system and wheel-speed sensor. The ABS/brake warning light comes on intermittently, particularly when turning right and during hot weather. The vehicle has NOT been repaired for this problem. I am reporting it because I am concerned that there may be a defect involving the wheel-speed sensor, sensor wiring/connection, wheel hub, or ABS system. Because these components are connected to the vehicle’s anti-lock braking and stability/traction-control systems, I am concerned about the safety of continuing to drive the vehicle. I would like this problem investigated as a potential safety defect. I am also requesting that NHTSA review whether other 2016 Jeep Wrangler owners have reported similar ABS, brake warning light, or wheel-speed sensor failures and determine whether a safety recall is warranted. There was no accident it just started happening on its own.

The abs module on many of these vehicles has a known fault. You can’t find replacement parts, even the Jeep dealership can’t get them. Many ppl are driving around with faulty modules, on a waiting list for parts. I’m one of those people. All has been fine until I was driving toward 228 business in Angleton to turn towards Walmart. I was going about 45-48 and went to brake to slow down for the stop sign. My brakes were soft instead of firm and it locked up and skid on me. I didn’t hit anything but had someone been behind me it could have been different. It scared me. Now I’m scared to drive it and have no fix for it.

On Monday, XXX, my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JKU had several errors displayed on the dashboard: ABS, Brake, and Traction Control failures. I took my vehicle to an auto repair shop and they diagnosed it as a faulty ABS Module. This part is on back-order as per discussion with local Jeep dealers in [XXX]. Stellantis confirms that this part is not available as it has been deemed a systematic failure. There is currently no solution from Stellantis which is causing safety concerns and increased risk of operating my Jeep Wrangler. The error code is C2200: ANTI-LOCK BRAKE MODULE INTERNAL - STORED. In October 2025, the Anti-lock Breaking System (ABS) Brake, traction control, downhill control indicators all illuminated. This also impacts cruise control and acceleration from a stopped position. My repair technician placed an order for the necessary ABS control module with MOPAR. The expected delivery date was August 2026. In August 2026, MOPAR informed them the part was on a nationwide back order with no ETR for resolution. I placed an order for the ABS Module in August 2026, with a suggested date of delivery in two weeks. MOPAR has advised us today 18 August 26, there is no ETR for this critical component to be available. Anti-lock brakes are federally mandated in all vehicles 2012 and beyond. Not having this module disables multiple required safety components in the vehicle not just ABS and puts the consumer, other drivers at risk.

I took it in for the Maine state inspection and it won't pass because the rotors have delaminated, the caliper is starting to shift up, and the brake hoses are going bad already. The service tech says this is a known issue with these vehicles. Unacceptable for a vehicle with 42k miles.

The ABS control module (part 68032358AC, ATE 25.0212-1155.4) on my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited failed at approximately 109,600 miles with stored diagnostic code C2200 (Anti-lock Brake Module Internal). The ABS, BRAKE, ESP/BAS, and traction control warning lights illuminate intermittently and the fault is permanently stored. When active, the vehicle loses anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, and traction control; base hydraulic braking remains. This internal module failure is widely reported among 2007–2018 Wrangler JK owners. The replacement part has also been discontinued — my mechanic and a Jeep dealership confirmed it is unavailable nationwide through the Mopar network, leaving no new manufacturer replacement available for this safety component. No crash or injury has occurred.

My vehicle has experienced a complete failure of the ABS Control Module. A dealer diagnosis confirmed internal module failure. The symptoms are: - All ABS system warning lights illuminated (ABS, traction control, brake, sway bar) - Odometer and speedometer stop working while driving - All brake lights remain on continuously - Vehicle exhibits erratic shifting / rough braking This is a documented safety defect affecting many Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep owners where the dealer confirms the ABS module is defective but cannot repair due to the part being on national backorder with no ETA. I am being told the part is backordered indefinitely. I am left driving an unsafe vehicle with no functioning ABS, stability control, or accurate speed/odometer reading, or parking a vehicle I am still paying for and insuring. I am formally requesting: 1. Immediate provision of a replacement ABS module, or a loaner/rental vehicle at FCA's expense until repair

2018 Jeep Wangler JK experienced a brake failure due to a rusted collapsed right front brake line. Vehicle is one owner with 29,855 miles at time of repair on 08/05/26. Repaired by independent service center. Garage kept for the first 6 of 8 years of ownership, never operated off road, and no accidents. Parked in a covered car port for last two years when not in use. This is a well maintained, daily driver vehicle driven by a 79 year old male.

ABS pump and module combination is making brake calipers to not released. It’s been two times in 6 months my brakes are used up and calipers locked. I am contacting you to report a serious safety and parts availability issue involving my 2015 Jeep Rubicon. Jeep is no longer making the ABS module for my vehicle available and I have been unable to obtain a replacement module anywhere else. This has been an ongoing issue for several years now. The ABS system is an important safety component, and without a functioning ABS module, the vehicle can not be driven safely. What is particularly concerning is that Jeep has effectively left owners with no reasonable way to repair this critical safety system. This is not a consmetic or convenience related part. The ABS system directly affects the vehicle's ability to brake safely, particularly during emergency braking or when traction is compromised. I would like NHTSA to investigate whether Jeep's failure to make replacement ABS modules available for these vehicles creates an unreasonable safety risk for owners. I also believe NHTSA should determine whether Jeep should be required to provide a remedy, replacement parts or other means of restoring the ABS system to safe operating conditions. Please let me know what additional information is needed to formally document this saftety complaint. Have had this issue since I believe 2020 or 2021. Either way a long time. This issue concerns the ABS control module failure. The warning lights (Brake, ABS and traction control) are lit showing unavailable / issue. The computer is throwing code C2200. The parts to repair are not available. Online forums show this is a big issue within the Jeep Wrangler community. It has been reported that Internally, Jeep has acknowledged the issue by placing new inventory on an "engineering review" hold after admitting that a massive batch of newly manufactured replacement parts had fatal software flaws.

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle experienced an ABS module failure. The ABS and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The dealer was contacted and diagnosed the vehicle with ABS control module failure; however, the part to repair the vehicle was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time to provide the parts for the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but was unable to determine when parts for the repair would be available. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

The vehicle experienced repeated braking system failures that caused the front brakes to lock up while driving, overheat, and begin smoking. The front brake calipers, rotors, and pads were replaced multiple times,not lasting more than 3weeks before failing again. the problem continued to occur. The brake booster brake line and brake fluid were also replaced while attempting to diagnose the problem. Warning lights/messages appeared, including the ABS/traction control warning and “Service Electronic Stability Control.” The vehicle would also randomly turn off at stop lights and refuse to turn back on. An independent mechanic ultimately diagnosed a failure of the ABS control module. Showing a code “c2200” The vehicle is currently at the repair facility and is available for inspection. This failure created a serious safety risk because the brakes could engage/lock unexpectedly while the vehicle was being driven and the braking system became severely overheated and damaged multiple times. The vehicle is currently considered unsafe to drive unless I redo the whole braking system again and unplug the ABS module. I was informed that the required replacement ABS module is on national backorder with no reliable availability date and reliable refurbishes are also unable to do the repairs now. . I was also informed that obtaining a new replacement module may take an extended period of time. Because this is a safety-critical braking component, I am concerned that other vehicles with the same failure could experience unexpected brake malfunction or loss of safe braking control

I was driving our 2015 Jeep Wrangler on the highway probably going around 60MPH and had a deer run in front of her and had to brake suddenly. The jeep skidded and fish taled slightly before coming to a complete stop and I avoided hitting the deer. The ABS system did not work. Ironically, the ABS and Traction Control lights had come on occasionally but would then go off. It's hit or miss whether these lights come on when you start the vehicle. We took the jeep to Barnes Automotive in Westminster Maryland and they diagnosed that the ABS module (Part 68259556AE) was bad and needed to be replaced. They said they tested it by clearing the error, but then after driving it around town, the error would appear again. They informed me that there is a national shortage of the part and they estimated there is a 90 day backorder. I can't wait 3 months to not drive the vehicle so they let me know just to be aware the vehicle will be ok to drive but to know that it doesn't have ABS if I need to make any sudden stops. Sounds like a very common issue with Jeep Wranglers.

I have a C2200 diagnostic code for an internal fault on my ABS module. This is on a national backorder, and the Jeep dealership told me there in no current ETA. Therefore, I have been driving around with no ABS. Sometimes the transmission will surge or bog down causing erratic behaviors on the road which nearly led to me rear ending someone. I worry what will happen if I am ever forced to slam on the brakes in an emergency, but unfortunately, I have no choice but to continue driving it.
