While driving my 2019 Jeep Wrangler, the vehicle suffered a major electronic/CAN-network failure. Service Shifter, ABS and ESC warnings appeared, the wipers activated on their own, controls malfunctioned, and power-steering assistance failed while the vehicle was moving, making it extremely difficult to steer. My two young children were in the vehicle. Jeep dealer diagnostics showed widespread communication faults involving steering, ABS/brake, transmission and other control modules. The dealer replaced the power-steering assembly and RF Hub, but the problem remains. On the first drive after repair, the ABS and ESC warnings repeatedly flashed on and off at highway speed. Interior lights are also flickering. I am concerned another network failure could again disable steering assistance or compromise ABS/braking-related safety systems and cause loss of vehicle control or a crash.

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle unexpectedly went into LIMP Mode. The ABS, BRAKE, and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local independent mechanic to be diagnosed and DTC: C2200; was retrieved. 2018 Jeep Wrangler rubber brake lines collapsing internally, trapping hydraulic fluid pressure, and causing front brakes to overheat/lock up. Happened last year on my driver's side. It completely locked up my caliper. Ended up replacing Front Driver Hose & Caliper. And both Front Rotors and Brake Pads. Now its currently happening to my passenger side. This time its actually causing a burning smell. Last year it did not it was just grinding. Been for a few months. At first I though it was my aux battery that was dead and was causing the smell. But got that looked at and didnt even have a ln aux battery. Didnt notice the smell for a few months. But now in extreme heat and worsen driving conditions it has came back. Was told my hose is collapsing. So now I have to replace rotors and brake pads again. And new hose and caliper on my passenger side

The ABS control module on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler JK failed approximately four years ago. Since that time, I have been unable to obtain a replacement module through Jeep/Mopar, leaving the vehicle without properly functioning ABS and related electronic stability/traction-control safety systems. I was initially told the replacement part was on backorder and waited for an extended period (August 2022). In January 2026, I contacted my Jeep dealer checking on the status of my quote q96683 from 12/3/25. I was required to prepay $1,342.54 for the replacement module, which I did. It is now September 2026, approximately eight months after I prepaid, and the part still has not been supplied. I have not been given a reliable delivery date and there is no ETA. My concern goes beyond an ordinary parts shortage. This is a failure of a safety-critical braking component, and Jeep owners appear to be experiencing extremely long waits because the manufacturer cannot provide replacement ABS modules. My vehicle has needed this repair for approximately four years. A manufacturer should have a reasonable means of repairing a failed ABS/stability-control system in a vehicle of this age. Owners should not have to operate vehicles indefinitely without these safety functions—or stop using otherwise serviceable vehicles—because the manufacturer cannot supply the necessary component. I am asking NHTSA to investigate failures of the ABS control module in 2014 Jeep Wranglers, the availability of replacement modules, and whether the number of failures and inability to obtain replacement parts represent an unreasonable safety risk. I also ask NHTSA to determine whether a recall or other manufacturer action is warranted. I have documentation of the dealer order and my approximately $1,342.54 prepayment for the replacement module and can provide it if requested.

I am filing this complaint regarding my 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited Sahara and a failure of the vehicle’s ABS module. The ABS module has failed, leaving the vehicle with a malfunctioning anti-lock braking system and related safety features. My greater concern is that the replacement ABS module is reportedly no longer being manufactured or made readily available. This leaves owners with very limited options to repair a critical safety system, including relying on used or refurbished components of uncertain reliability. The ABS system is an important safety component of the vehicle, and the inability to obtain a new replacement module creates a significant safety and consumer issue for owners of these vehicles. A vehicle that is otherwise mechanically serviceable should not effectively become unrepairable because a manufacturer-discontinued electronic component for a critical braking system is no longer available. I am asking NHTSA to investigate whether the lack of availability of replacement ABS modules for the Jeep Wrangler JK presents a safety concern and whether the manufacturer should be required to provide an appropriate remedy or continued access to replacement parts.

My abs control module is not functioning. The car does not stop properly in wet weather..the traction is effected. The abs control module was inspected by a dealership. The control module is non communicative to the abs module. The brake light, ABS light and the traction light are all on, all the time. I cannot get the vehicle inspected..If rain is dangerous, the upcoming winter is going to be treacherous.. I am extremely concerned for my safety. I’m having a difficult time finding the part for the year of my vehicle and I can’t fix this problem with out mfr intervention. I wrote to the Jeep manufacturer in Michigan for assistance in locating this part and have not heard back. My vehicle is not the only vehicle to have this problem and there should be a recall because the breaking system not functioning is a huge safety issue.

My 2016 Jeep Wrangler is experiencing an ongoing problem with the ABS/braking system and wheel-speed sensor. The ABS/brake warning light comes on intermittently, particularly when turning right and during hot weather. The vehicle has NOT been repaired for this problem. I am reporting it because I am concerned that there may be a defect involving the wheel-speed sensor, sensor wiring/connection, wheel hub, or ABS system. Because these components are connected to the vehicle’s anti-lock braking and stability/traction-control systems, I am concerned about the safety of continuing to drive the vehicle. I would like this problem investigated as a potential safety defect. I am also requesting that NHTSA review whether other 2016 Jeep Wrangler owners have reported similar ABS, brake warning light, or wheel-speed sensor failures and determine whether a safety recall is warranted. The abs module on many of these vehicles has a known fault. You can’t find replacement parts, even the Jeep dealership can’t get them. Many ppl are driving around with faulty modules, on a waiting list for parts. I’m one of those people. All has been fine until I was driving toward 228 business in Angleton to turn towards Walmart. I was going about 45-48 and went to brake to slow down for the stop sign. My brakes were soft instead of firm and it locked up and skid on me. I didn’t hit anything but had someone been behind me it could have been different. It scared me. Now I’m scared to drive it and have no fix for it.

On Monday, XXX, my 2018 Jeep Wrangler JKU had several errors displayed on the dashboard: ABS, Brake, and Traction Control failures. I took my vehicle to an auto repair shop and they diagnosed it as a faulty ABS Module. This part is on back-order as per discussion with local Jeep dealers in [XXX]. Stellantis confirms that this part is not available as it has been deemed a systematic failure. In October 2025, the Anti-lock Breaking System (ABS) Brake, traction control, downhill control indicators all illuminated. This also impacts cruise control and acceleration from a stopped position. My repair technician placed an order for the necessary ABS control module with MOPAR. The expected delivery date was August 2026. In August 2026, MOPAR informed them the part was on a nationwide back order with no ETR for resolution. I placed an order for the ABS Module in August 2026, with a suggested date of delivery in two weeks. MOPAR has advised us today 18 August 26, there is no ETR for this critical component to be available. Anti-lock brakes are federally mandated in all vehicles 2012 and beyond. Not having this module disables multiple required safety components in the vehicle not just ABS and puts the consumer, other drivers at risk.

I took it in for the Maine state inspection and it won't pass because the rotors have delaminated, the caliper is starting to shift up, and the brake hoses are going bad already. The service tech says this is a known issue with these vehicles. Unacceptable for a vehicle with 42k miles.

The ABS control module (part 68032358AC, ATE 25.0212-1155.4) on my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited failed at approximately 109,600 miles with stored diagnostic code C2200 (Anti-lock Brake Module Internal). The ABS, BRAKE, ESP/BAS, and traction control warning lights illuminate intermittently and the fault is permanently stored. When active, the vehicle loses anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, and traction control; base hydraulic braking remains. This internal module failure is widely reported among 2007–2018 Wrangler JK owners. The replacement part has also been discontinued — my mechanic and a Jeep dealership confirmed it is unavailable nationwide through the Mopar network, leaving no new manufacturer replacement available for this safety component. No crash or injury has occurred.
