The engine/dash wiring harness connector XY230A suffered severe thermal degradation, resulting in a melted pin and causing a complete loss of communication with the Transmission Control Module (TCM, Code U0101-00) and continuous dashboard warning lights (Service Connection Error). This vehicle has a chronic history of unresolved electrical failures, having been brought to Stellantis Puerto Rico dealerships three times for the exact same issue, most recently in June 2026. This condition is directly related to the thermal and fire hazard characteristics described under Safety Recall Campaign 26V363 (Mopar Recall 21D) for 2022 Wranglers. However, the Stellantis regional warranty manager formally denied recall and powertrain warranty coverage based on routine oil change loyalty metrics and second-owner status. The dealership forced an upfront payment of $2,311.38 under a partial diagnosis to replace the harness. The vehicle was rendered inoperable and held for 30 days and actually held in service. in addition, they don't bring loaner. The manufacturer's regional warranty manager from Stellantis initially confirmed that I would incur zero costs for this repair but later retracted the decision formally denying recall and powertrain warranty coverage due the reason mentioned above. Regional management flatly denies any relationship between this melted harness failure, the active safety recall or the vehicle's electrical repair history I formally demand a full reimbursement of all repairs and rental expenses, and that my powertrain warranty and safety recall rights be fully honored as originally promised

Change the ending so it is completely accurate: The electric power-steering assistance and electrical/instrument-panel systems have repeatedly malfunctioned. Power-steering assistance failed while I was driving on August 3, 2026, and again on August 8, 2026. Each time, the steering suddenly became extremely difficult. I struggled to maintain control and pull over safely without being struck or causing a collision. This placed me, my passengers, and other motorists at serious risk. The Jeep also displays numerous warning lamps and messages, the instrument cluster and odometer malfunction, the radio loses sound, and reverse sometimes will not engage. Multiple electrical systems can malfunction simultaneously. Five people have witnessed these problems. Electrical symptoms existed when I purchased the Jeep in May 2024. Federico Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram inspected it in July 2024 at 44,780 miles. The dealer documented a disappearing odometer, multiple warning lights, failure to start, required jump-starts, and inability to turn the vehicle off. Federico diagnosed an internal instrument-cluster failure and replaced the cluster. Similar problems continued intermittently afterward and became substantially worse beginning July 11, 2026. Federico recently reviewed my video. A technician considered a possible wiring problem, but the dealership requires a paid diagnostic before confirming the cause. The current failure has not been physically diagnosed. Mopar received my report and video but has not inspected the Jeep or provided a technical determination. Police, insurance representatives, and independent shops have not inspected it. The Jeep has fewer than 65,000 miles and is available for inspection upon request. I limit driving as much as possible because I believe it is unsafe, but I have no other vehicle and must occasionally drive it for essential transportation.
NHTSA complaint #11757777 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
The steering column mechanically disconnected, causing a complete loss of steering control while traveling approximately 70 mph on a highway. I was in the right lane when steering control was lost without any warning signs, including noises, vibrations, warning lights, or increased steering resistance. I immediately activated the hazard lights, informed my passenger, checked surrounding traffic, and applied the brakes. The vehicle pulled to the left under braking, crossed into the left lane, and entered the grassy median. The vehicle continued through a steep V-shaped median and came to a stop before entering opposing traffic. A collision was narrowly avoided.

Our Jeep has a death wobble that has almost caused me to have three wrecks where it is taking me out of my lane of travel and put me in Lanes where other people are had to get to the side of the road and try to get it to stop wobbling it. Every time I hit a pothole or a bump it throws me into a death wobble. I'm worried that this might cause me to get into an accident or cause me to die this happens every time I drive it. I cannot go above 40 mph without causing a death wobble so now I have no use of my Jeep. It just sits
NHTSA complaint #11756070 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
Unresolved Death Wobble after four attempts, the vehicle has experienced the recurring death wobble, steering control issue that has been presented to the dealership 4 times for repair, despite the repair attempts the problem remains. Because the issue involves steering stability and control i no longer feel safe operating the vehicle. I am requesting this be documented as a safety issue

I am writing to express my concern regarding the handling of the urgent safety recall affecting my Jeep Wrangler. This recall has been classified as an urgent fire and safety risk, yet no remedy is currently available. The recall notice stated that owners would receive notification regarding the remedy by July 9. As of today, August 4, I have not received any follow-up communication, and the NHTSA website continues to list the recall as unresolved with no available repair. I find it deeply concerning that a recall deemed urgent due to the potential risk of fire has remained without a remedy for approximately two months. Owners are expected to continue operating vehicles that have been identified as posing a serious safety hazard while having no meaningful way to mitigate that risk. This places consumers in an unreasonable position, especially those who rely on their vehicles for work and daily transportation. I respectfully request that NHTSA review whether the manufacturer is complying with its obligations under federal motor vehicle safety recall requirements. Given the severity of the identified risk, I also ask that NHTSA determine whether additional oversight or enforcement is warranted to ensure affected owners receive a timely remedy. Additionally, I ask NHTSA to consider whether the manufacturer should provide interim accommodations, such as loaner vehicles or rental reimbursement, while a permanent remedy remains unavailable. I respectfully request that this matter be escalated and that I receive an explanation for the continued delay, an estimated timeline for when a remedy will be available, and guidance for owners who are left with no practical way to address this known safety hazard. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your response.

NHTSA complaint #11754741 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
The contact owned a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH, black smoke was coming from the exhaust, and the husband smelled an abnormal burning odor entering the cabin of the vehicle. The contact pulled over to the shoulder of the road, and a fire started coming from under the hood. The contact stated that while her husband was attempting to unlatch the hood, after unlatching the front driver’s and passenger’s side hood latches and attempting to unlatch the 3rd hood latch, the fire rose and burned both hands. The local Fire Department arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire. The source of the fire was not yet determined. A Police report was not filed. No medical attention was sought; however, the contact's husband had fallen attempting to create distance between the fire and sustained a pulled shoulder, bruises on the right elbow, and right knee, while being pre-diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. The vehicle was towed by a local independent mechanic. The contact and her husband were on vacation when the vehicle caught on fire and the luggage with personal items were burned in the fire. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed. Upon further investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V363000 (Steering); however, parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.

while vehicle is driving multiple dash alarms will start cycling through including stop/start, service electronic stability control, speed control messaging unavailable, service airbag system, service 4WD, engine light and ABS light, anti skid lights all come on, the speedometer goes to zero, and the power steering goes out. Driving highway speeds and suddenly having no power steering is a safety issue as well as being unsure if airbags etc are even functioning any longer. The problem has happened multiple times. The vehicle was inspected by a Jeep dealership as well as another shop in town and the codes were reproduced. They were unable to fix the issue and despite testing a "star connector" and finding it in good condition and unable to reproduce the issues were advised to replace that part anyway and see if they could reproduce the problem again at my expense. During this time the recall for 2022 Jeep Wranglers with NHTSA campaign number 26V363 came out and i requested to wait for further repair work to be done until the recall was repaired as it also relates to the power steering. I saw a fix had been published and return to the dealership to have the recall repair performed and was told that upon further inspection of the recalled part, mine passed the test, which was apparently a wiggle the wire and inspect the harness for ware only and my vehicle is no longer listed on the recall. I feel these things may still be related and I am extremely frustrated that I have a 4 year old vehicle that I am making payments on and paying insurance on that has been parked (not in my garage as it was a fire risk in the recall) and I don't feel its safe to drive and don't feel that Jeep or the local dealership are being honorable with their product.
NHTSA complaint #11753575 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
These new Jeep Wrangles came from the factory with an aluminum steering box and Jeep has made 8 new steering boxes to try to fix the "wondering" steering issue but has not made any recalls. This is a safety issue because while driving down the road if you hit the smallest of bumps the Jeep will be sent into oncoming traffic in cases. They are impossible to drive on little 2 lane roads that has a lot of semi traffic as the semis naturally put low spots on the edge of the road and cause the Jeep to jolt to the right if you don't have death grip on the steering wheel. Something needs to be done to keep Jeep accountable for yet again putting these Wrangles on the road with steering issues.

I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2024 Jeep Wrangler due to serious and unresolved safety defects that render the vehicle unsafe for operation and present an immediate risk to public safety. One of the active safety recalls involves a condition in which the vehicle may suddenly lose power while driving. I have personally experienced this dangerous failure on three separate occasions while operating the vehicle. Each incident required me to return the Jeep to the dealership for repair. Despite three separate service visits and extended periods during which the dealership retained the vehicle, the recall has not been resolved and the underlying safety defect continues to persist. The risk of sudden power loss while driving creates an imminent and severe hazard, significantly increasing the likelihood of a crash that could result in serious injury or death to myself, my passengers, and other motorists. Despite repeated repair attempts, no permanent remedy has been provided. I have further been informed that no effective or final repair is currently available for this recall, leaving the vehicle in an unsafe and unresolved condition. Given the repeated failures and the ongoing inability to correct this defect, I consider this vehicle unsafe for operation on public roads. Immediate regulatory intervention is necessary to prevent potential harm. I respectfully urge the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to initiate a prompt investigation into this matter and to take all appropriate enforcement actions to ensure that a timely, effective, and permanent remedy is provided to all affected vehicle owners without further delay. Thank you for your urgent attention to this critical safety issue.

Component: I was driving my jeep on XXX and the power steering went out. Because this is electric over hydraulic, I couldn't even muscle the steering wheel. No lights illuminated on the dash and I don't believe the computer stored any codes. The power steering was out for less than 20 seconds. Safety risk: I almost crashed my car due to this issue and that's a safety risk to myself and others. I looked up active recalls and found NHTSA recall 26V-363. I called the dealership Casey's CDJR of [XXX]. They told me over the phone that yes, the power steering issue I experienced could be due to the active recall. The dealership visually inspected the recalled part and said it was fine and my vehicle doesn't qualify to get new parts. They then stated that if I wanted them to look into a power steering issue, it would cost me $149.95 per hour. On numerous instances now, while travelling at highway speeds a small bump or uneven surface will cause the vehicle to experience the "Jeep Death Wobble" and will violently shake the entire vehicle out of control unless a rapid deceleration and / or stoppage occurs. I have brought it to a dealer who indicates that they were not able to reproduce the "Shimmy" (they also were unable to perform my safety recalls spite have the vehicle for several days in a row). There is a clear shake, wobble, shimmy, or whatever that is easily reproducible at highway speeds of 50 mph or greater.

The contact's father owns a 2024 Jeep Wrangler. The owner received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V363000 (Steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was contacted and informed that the earliest availability to inspect the vehicle was July 24, 2026, and the vehicle would be repaired later if necessary. The contact stated that the vehicle served as the daily mode of transportation for the owner, who was handicapped and required regular medical appointments. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not yet notified of the issue. The owner had not experienced a failure.

how this vehicle has not been recalled is hard to comprehend how can no one care about safety ? I purchased (8/24)this vehicle used from Carvana. Since then I have had issues first the jeep death wobble (google it we’ll know to keep general public and i am certain you) When the vehicle reaches speeds over 55mph it shakes uncontrollably feels like vehicle is going to fall into pieces on the road hard to control immediately must slow down. The vehicle then has had countless battery recalls and still no fix. I am a mailman I work very hard for my money. I was hoping to save money with gas by plugging in vehicle but because of warnings from jeep I am unable to do that. The vehicle has so many known issues the price has plummeted. The vehicle because of this no one will take on trade or cannot be sold. How a company can get away with this is hard to understand please restore my confidence for consumers please

On July 1,2026 , My 2020 Jeep wrangler jl sport died in the middle of traffic causing a safety issue. I was not able to start my jeep and move out of traffic. I was able to disable the transmission and roll out of the road. But it was very dangerous while cars were passing me and coming towards me. Also before I was able to disable to roll my steering column was locked. The cause of this safety issue is the set up of the batteries. A jeep has 2 batteries a main and underneath an auxillary battery. Without any kind of warning your battery can die caused by the drain of the auxillary battery on the main battery causing the main battery to just stop working without notice. This is the 2nd time this happened.I had to call a tow truck both times. 1st time 4/14/24, then on 07/02/2026 I had it towed to the same dealership as the time before. This is an on going issue with jeeps that have the 2 batteries. Not only is it unsafe but a costly issue.
