I am reporting multiple safety-related defects on my 2025 Toyota Tundra (approx. 18.5k miles, purchased 07/25). Toyota has been made aware and has not resolved these issues. The most serious defect is deterioration of the driver-side air intake housing. While replacing the air filters, I observed the airbox shedding internal material directly onto the engine air filter. This is not external debris and there are no signs of rodent intrusion, indicating internal component breakdown. This vehicle shares the V35A engine platform, which is subject to recall for debris contamination leading to main bearing failure, engine stall, and loss of drive power. The presence of internally generated debris upstream of the engine creates a credible risk of engine damage or sudden failure while driving. Toyota’s recall documentation confirms debris contamination can cause engine stall and loss of drive power. The windshield cracked during extreme cold weather. The crack originated near the lower edge at the wiper/cowl interface and propagated upward in a pattern consistent with stress or thermal failure, not impact, affecting visibility and structural integrity. Additionally, the lower front bumper trim cracked without meaningful impact, and the rear bumper failed under minimal load in cold conditions. These failures indicate material brittleness and raise concern for reduced crash protection and increased risk of injury in a collision. Other issues include driver-side seat trim cracking and premature paint and trim degradation. Similar failures, including windshield cracking, trim failure, and cold-weather brittleness, are widely reported by other 2022+ Tundra owners, indicating a potential systemic defect. Given the known engine recall and active internal material degradation in the intake system, there is a credible safety risk of engine stall, sudden loss of power at speed, reduced visibility, and increased injury risk due to compromised bumper integrity.

While offloading my truck after getting back from vacation and with all the windows rolled down I noticed smoke coming out of the cab of my truck. Not know what it was or why smoke was coning from the inside of my truck I went to investigate and notice the top of the rear seat was melting and smoking. Absolutely no reason why that material should have started to melt and smoke. Outside temperature at the time was 64 degrees Fahrenheit. Only thing that I could think of was the light / reflection of the sun from our upstairs bedroom window. It is just a standard glass window so don't see how that would cause the material to melt, smoke and it absolutely looked like it was about to light up. I have an actual video of it smoking but website will not let me upload it.

The contact owns a 2020 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact discovered that there was smoke inside the vehicle. The contact opened the front passenger side door and discovered that the front passenger seat was burned and had melted. The contact stated that the front passenger seat had caught on fire and extinguished itself prior to the contact discovering the smoke. The origin of the fire was from the front passenger’s heated seat function. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was unoccupied during the fire. Neither a Fire nor a Police Report was filed. The vehicle remained at the residence. The dealer was contacted, and the contact was informed that the front passenger’s seat heater needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also mentioned that the insurance company declined coverage since they deemed it to be a manufacturer's defect. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Both passenger seats by controls plastic cracking. Infotainment center blacks out and marker bars and back up lines for both back up and front parking have disappeared. GPS even when linked to my phone screen will black out but phone gps will still work. I have complained about this multiple times. Toyota did a factory reset on it and didn’t fix the issue took it back and a tech had to re-install program said the Infotainment center has a known issue where it forgets the program. I also informed Toyota about the engine seems to be really sluggish when at a complete stop and then start again taking a few seconds to go along with shifting hard from stop and go. Toyota did say they saw what I saw and this usually happens when people double foot pedals. I told them I don’t do that. I am frustrated and don’t know what to do I have a 72k truck that just turned 17k miles on it with a lot of issues what will I have to deal with down the road once the warranty is up? I love Toyota but this time seems like I got a lemon from Toyota with all the issues and continued rising issues.

The seat protective plastic cover is broke with less than 30k miles and light use. It is a known issue but Toyota informed me when I took it in that they are on universal unavailability. They can’t tell me when the part will be back in stock and there are non in the USA. The airbag is also near this and there is concern that it could damage the airbag. Additionally the damaged plastic cuts the seat and is sharp

Since around 35,000 miles, the 10-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat makes a terrible squeaky sound when going over any bumps in the road. If the Driver were to move while in the seat, the squeak is present. We have already paid out of pocket (not considered a warranty issue because nothing is "broken"), but the squeak has returned. This is no fault of the dealership, but because of the design that Toyota implemented for just the 10-way Power Adjustable Driver's Seat. If we reduce the Lumbar Support down to its lowest setting, the squeak gets better but it makes the seat that much more uncomfortable. These are the worst seats we've ever had in any vehicle, let alone a Toyota/Lexus product. I do believe the seat structure to have cracked at this point in time. Vehicle is currently in for service.

- A dealership in DFW replaced the drive seat frame in truck due to metal creaking while driving. After the replacement everything was fine until my friend hit her toe against driver side seat frame covered by felt tape. From the factory the truck comes with plastic frame guards to prevent injury to rear passengers but Toyota has failed to fix the issue several times. I recently found out that all Tundra's with powered seats have this safety issue as I was talking to dealer employee who recently purchased a 2024 Tundra then we walked the lot and every single higher trim Tundra with powered seats all have this felt tape over the metal substructure. The felt tape provides no shock absorbing properties resulting in bruising when a rear passenger tries to exit the truck wearing open toe shoes.

Driver's Seat appears to have some play in it where when accelerating or coming to a stop, the seat bottom will move forward and/or backwards. This has continued to happen and after repeated attempts to have the dealer resolve it, they have basically told me it was designed that way. We've never had another Toyota product do this. We do understand there are certain specifications needed to meet safety requirements, but we've sat and driven in other models of the same specifications and their seats do not do this.
