NHTSA complaint #11751252 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
SEAT BELTS
The driver and passenger front seat seat belts do not retract. They hang loose when on and if the windows are open will even loosen up more when wind catches them. This is an extreme safety concern if an accident were to happen the seat belt would not hold us in place.
NHTSA complaint #11751047 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
SEAT BELTS
The passenger side seatbelt retractor broke, will not release seat belt at all. I am aware that NHTSA did testing in this particular year and model, and some are covered and some are not included in the recall, to be determined by the last 8 digits of the vin #. I wish to dispute that my particular vehicle SHOULD be included in the recall. I can prove it is broken, a manufacturing defect. This is a MAJOR safety concern. I wish for an exception to the validity on the testing that was done on your end, which was found to only be an issue on certain “batches”. Apparently, this is a defect and should be repaired as soon as possible and I should not be charged. I can no longer drive this vehicle as long as I have a person in the passenger side. In case of an accident, because I was aware of this defective part in my Dodge Durango, I could personally be held responsible for anything that happens to my passenger and also for any repairs that happened as a result of the decision made by HHTSA, to pick and choose only particular “vin numbers”on the same make and year of the the 2014 Dodge Durrango. I ask for a reversal on this previously made decision. And to make dodge take care of the replacement of the part necessary and labor. It clearly IS a manufacturing defect, no matter what “batch” was decided as defective

I cannot buckle in my driver side seatbelt. I contacted the dealership I bought my car from and they said 361 parts have been ordered nationwide and no one is receiving the seat belt buckle part.
NHTSA complaint #11660589 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
SEAT BELTS
Extended warranty was issued on driver and passenger front seat belt assembly due to crack in upper seat belt plastic guide, preventing proper retraction. I would like the report the same issue on 3rd row rear passenger seat belts as well.
NHTSA complaint #11652533 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
SEAT BELTS
Head rest deployed outside of “extended warranty “ its a safety hazard. This part should be total recalled. The rear passenger door latch gets stuck or pops open randomly. It will not close when this happens and it has come open upon locking and driving! Again dangerous where children sit. This is with child lock on or off the problem continues. The third complaint is the seat belts will not retract in the front seat but the dealership requires me to pay a fee to have it assessed. This is a “recalled”issue but it isn't for my vin These three things seem to all fall shortly after buying the vehicle within the last four yrs. Exact dates unknown.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? 3rd for left and right seatbelts do not retract or lock. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I have children and they ride in that row if the seatbelts do not retract or lock they will fail in a crash. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Dealership confirmed problem Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Dodge dealership has inspected vehicle on 1/3/2025 Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warnings. Recently purchased vehicle and noticed 2nd time driving it. Front seat belts jave the same issue but are covered under an extended part warranty. This issue puts children's safety at risk and should also be covered however all we got from the dealer was an offer of a discount. This is a known issue with this year make and model that dodge is profiting off of because it is a safety issue. They should recall the vehicle for this since children could be at risk of ejection during a crash. As a nurse this really irritates me that they know about this and could add it to the extended part warranty and have refused to do so.

SEAT BELTS
I have a 2014 Dodge Durango. The driver side seat belt will no longer retract. I took vehicle to the nearest dealership, and they said a repair would not be covered under warranty and quoted me at $375.00 for a $50 part and the rest being labor for about 1.5 hours of work. I asked about any warranty since it was a safety issue but they said it was not covered. I am really disappointed to hear that the seat belt retraction not working and therefore causing the seatbelt to no function properly is not a safety concern for dodge. I got home and started doing research and can see that there have been numerous complaints about this same issue: [XXX] and a related recall: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Driver side and third row passenger side seat belts have stopped retracting, will not retract. Exterior tail light is going out due to faulty manufacturer seal, water gets in and destroys tail light from inside which also lets water get into license plate bulb and makes the license plate bulbs burn out constantly. I feel unsafe driving my vehicle due to the seatbelt not retracting, if I have to slam on my brakes, the seal belt does not lock up like it should. I cannot have a passenger in the third row passenger side due to the seatbelt being loose and not retracting at all. Vehicle has not been reproduced, confirmed or inspected yet by anyone other than myself and passengers. No warnings before any of the issues.

SEAT BELTS
The 3rd row seat belt restraints failed. The left side was able to be fished back in but the right side was NOT able to be fished back in to get it to reset. I don’t want to use either until they are replaced. I did see there was a recall with this same issue with other models but not my VIN.
NHTSA complaint #11604232 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
SEAT BELTS
The driver's side seatbelt no longer retracts. The seatbelt lays loose across the driver's chest. There appears to be a break in a clip causing some pinching on the seatbelt keeping it from retracting. Searching the internet this appears to be a common issue with 2014/2015 Durangos.
NHTSA complaint #11602306 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
SEAT BELTS
Drivers seatbelt buckle does not register, resulting in active chiming of the unbuckled seat belt alarm and disengaging of the airbag system. Driver must hold the seatbelt with downward pressure continuously in order to register the seat belt and return the vehicle to normal operating condition, and turn off the airbag system warning signs and chiming. Dealership refuses any assistance without payment despite being a vehicle safety system.
NHTSA complaint #11595329 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
SEAT BELTS
Driver side seatbelt will not retract. This vehicle has not been in any accidents. Took to local shop and they stated that it would cost $750 to fix. If it is a law that I have to wear the seatbelt and if I do not wear it I get a ticket it should be manditory that if tthe vehicle has not been any accidents like mine has not then Dodge should be responsible for the maufunction of this part.

My driver side seat belt doesn't roll back up after it is taken off. I have to manually force the belt to go up. This happened to my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee and there was a recall on hers. This seems to be the same issue. I am afraid that the seat belt will eventually malfunction.
