2025 Honda Civic Waynetown, IN Crash 1 injured

SEATS

Accident happened while driving on a two-way county road without center lane markings. The driver was leaning to the right of the road. The lane keep assisting overcorrected to the left hitting a culvert. Upon the crash the seat unlocked from its position and slid towards the steering wheel. The seat belt did not lock in time to prevent the seat from considerable forward movement. The airbag located inside steering wheel seemed only partially inflated. No other airbags deployed. The combined malfunctions resulted in the driver's left foot being crushed (various fractures and joints dislodged), and right ankle fracture and dislocation. The driver was the only one involved in the cash. However, other drivers could have been affected by the sudden change of lanes - especially if driving the opposite direction. The issue has not been reproduced as far as known (unable to find any reports, images or videos online). There was no inspection following the accident. The car had previously shown unexplainable lane keeping assistance overcorrections before, but there were no system failure warning lights. The seat sometimes needed readjustment (the locking system would click, but the seat would not remain in place). Summary of issues: -Lane keep assisting - overcorrected leading to hitting a culvert on the opposite side of the road. -Driver's seat unlocked forward toward the steering wheel when car hit the culvert. -Seatbelt did not lock appropriately to prevent seat moving forward toward the steering wheel. I am unsure if the car is still available for inspection. It was totaled by the insurance company. Passenger seat dings and interior light comes on when making a left turn. It sounds like the seat belt alert even when the passengers and driver have their seat belts on. It also happens when rhe passenger shifts their weight. This is a distraction while driving.

2022 Honda Civic San Antonio, TX

SEATS

Since purchasing my vehicle in 2022, I’ve experienced my seat “click and unclick” after adjusting it as well as at random times when driving. As I’ve been reviewing recalls for my own year/make/model, I recently found that 2023-24 Hondas & Acuras were experiencing a similar issue and have had a recall for their seat frame bolt. However, I’m unsure if it’s due to the same reason, as I’ve not seen other related complaints for my own year/make/model.

When using the backseat armrest and cup holders, if you have a hot coffee, to go, from let’s say Starbucks, no matter the size, it will come out of the cup holder in certain turns, when the car is moving. It’s spilled multiple times on my kids and a friend, who had scalding on their hands. This is very unsafe and the cup holders need to be deeper, they are very shallow, to hold to go cups, even sodas from McDonald’s will come out of the cup holders when the car is turning at medium speeds around corners, 30 MPH or so.

My boyfriend has a Honda Civic 2018 EXL and on 11/07/2025 around noonish, I briefly turned on the passenger side seat warmer for approximately 15 minutes and received second degree burns/blisters on the back of my thighs from the seat. I knew something was wrong because I had to peel my thighs off the seat and my skin felt really flushed and hot. Over 24 hours, the blisters formed and then popped.

2021 Honda Civic Los Angeles, CA

SEATS

I was informed of a recall notice for my vehicle in the summer months of 2024 (approximately). I took my vehicle to the Culver City Honda dealership in Los Angeles to address this, however they informed me that the issue was not critical and that they did not have the parts. Hence, the recall notice has still not been addressed. I recently (June 2025) imported this vehicle to Canada and I am unable to proceed with the import procedure because of this outstanding recall notice.

There’s been a safety recall and I took my car like more than a year ago to repairs and then the check the car but told me the piece it’s not ready yet. I have to wait almost a whole year for it and I receive the notification that the piece was ready. When I call to make the appointment the lady told me that I receive the notification but the piece it’s not on the Honda yet and I have to wait. Wait more ? I’m seriously concerned about my car and even though I receive the notification that it’s ready she says they haven’t receive the piece yet ? This is a serious matter and my car and even my family we are driving the car and this is absolutely not ok. I don’t know how much more do I have to wait.

I financed this car 3 months ago, and I received a safety recall notice from Honda. Unfortunately, they don't have the necessary part until 2025. As a result, I've been unable to rent out the car on Toro for the past 2 months to make finance payments. Additionally, due to a previous car accident, I don't feel safe driving the car, which causes me anxiety. Now, I'm unsure what steps to take. I want to return the car without negatively impacting my credit score, as this situation is not my fault. I'm losing both money and payments because of the recall, and the car can't be fixed until 2025.

2022 Honda Civic Harrisonburg, VA

Brakes are relatively hard to press and bring the car to stop, the pedal is also located high, and as an Uber driver it makes it difficult to brake constantly. I am getting knee pain and foot pain. Driver seat is very uncomfortable specially when driving for too long. It doesn't have lumbar support and is giving me lower back pain, my back compresses down and collapses into the section where there's no lumbar support. I feel like my disk is getting hurt. The seat is built in an angel. if I bring the seat low, my last bone of spine goes into the seat and hurts. if I bring the seat high, I get hip pain. The steering is somehow stiff to rotate even with lane departure being turned off. I am getting finger joint pain and elbow pain.
