My 2022 Honda Civic has developed an intermittent sticky steering condition. The steering wheel becomes difficult to turn around the center position and requires additional force before it moves normally again. This occurs during normal driving and makes it difficult to maintain smooth and predictable control of the vehicle. I am concerned that this could increase the risk of losing control, especially if an emergency steering correction is needed. In addition, I hear a knocking/tapping noise coming from the front of the vehicle whenever I turn the steering wheel at low speeds. The vehicle has never been involved in any accident, collision, or steering-related damage. There are no warning lights displayed. The problem developed during normal use and has become repeatable. The vehicle has not yet been diagnosed by a Honda dealership, but based on the symptoms and numerous similar owner reports involving 2022 Honda Civics, I believe this may be related to a defect in the steering system. I am submitting this complaint because I believe this is a potential safety issue and request that NHTSA investigate.

Following a drivetrain repair at Gary Yeomans Honda, the vehicle was returned to me in an unsafe driving condition. Specifically, the technician left unsecured heavy metal tools (a pry bar and screwdriver) loose in the engine bay, failed to torque a structural fastener, and rendered the rear brake light completely non-functional while incorrectly marking it as operational on the inspection sheet. Additionally, the inspection sheet indicated a red-flag warning to 'inspect transmission for leaks' that was categorized as a mistake upon return.

The one I put down are affected items the water pump could be bad the alternator the computer I’m not a mechanic so of the thing in the car on display don’t always work the cruise control is effected the front left tire wheel and axle feel bad and a times I think the steering wheel could fail and leave me going in that direction..!! I bought a 2023 Honda Civic Sport from Carvana four months ago. Ever since I bought the car I have been experiencing sticky steering and rattling in the front of my car. It is constant, and even worse at high speeds. I had it diagnosed at Honda, and the Power Steering Rack needs replaced. As far as I can tell from all of my research online this is a KNOWN issue with my vehicle, but there is no recall on the issue yet. My vehicle is out of warranty, and the dealer wants to charge me $4000 for the new part. That’s an astronomical amount of money for someone to pay, when 1.6 Million vehicles are experiencing the same issue. I don’t have $4k laying around to just drop to replace my steering rack. There is also an ongoing lawsuit against Honda, for the issues with their steering racks. Every mechanic I have spoken to, says the steering rack should not need replaced on a 2023, with only 66,000 miles.

A complaint is being filed regarding a **2025 Honda Civic** involving failure to diagnose and repair a safety-related suspension defect during the warranty period. While under warranty (~20,000 miles), a **clunking noise from the rear suspension** was repeatedly reported to Tamaroff Honda [XXX] ). Despite multiple service visits and complaints to both the dealership and American Honda (Case #XXX and #XXX), no proper diagnosis or repair was performed. After continued inaction, another Honda dealership identified a **broken rear shock absorber with an active fluid leak**, a safety-critical defect affecting vehicle stability and control. This condition existed and was reported during the warranty period but was dismissed. There is also a pattern of complaint mishandling, including lack of follow-up and unresolved case activity. Requests for service records and complaint documentation have not been fulfilled. I am reporting a severe steering safety defect on my 2022 Honda Civic that matches the symptoms of NHTSA Campaign Number 24V-744 and Honda TSB 23-037.At highway speeds (40–70 mph), the steering wheel "sticks" or "notches" in the center position. To make small lane adjustments, I must apply significant force to "break" the wheel loose. This causes the car to jerk or overcorrect, creating a high risk of a collision. Additionally, there is a metallic clicking/knocking noise coming from the steering rack during low-speed maneuvers.I have contacted Honda Corporate, but they denied a repair because my specific VIN has not yet been uploaded to the 24V-744 recall database, despite the vehicle exhibiting the exact manufacturing defect (swollen worm gear/high friction) described in the recall. Numerous defects in my 2024 Honda Civic Sport. I leased this vehicle in January 2024 for 36 months (with a $4,675 down payment and $284.62 monthly payments). From early in the lease, the car has been plagued with serious problems. Below is a chronological list of the issues my vehicle has experienced: Gearbox replacement – Feb 3, 2025 (12,792 miles): The vehicle’s transmission/gearbox failed catastrophically and was replaced under warranty. Axle boots replacement – Feb 19, 2025 (13,384 miles): Soon after, the front axle boots were found to be defective (leaking) and were replaced. Climate control panel failure (moisture damage) – Mar 6, 2025 (13,892 miles): The climate control and infotainment panel stopped functioning due to moisture intrusion and had to be replaced. Refusal to diagnose vibration issue – June 27, 2025 (18,116 miles): I reported a persistent and concerning vibration during driving (which could indicate an unresolved powertrain or suspension issue), but the dealership refused to perform a diagnostic or address it, returning the car to me without resolution. Steering wheel damage & falsified report – June 30, 2025: During a service visit, dealership personnel damaged the steering wheel and then provided a false report that inaccurately stated the damage was pre-existing, instead of taking responsibility. Ongoing audio system malfunctions – (continuing issue): The car’s audio system suffers from frequent USB/Bluetooth disconnections, which have persisted despite multiple service visits. The car's lane assist is triggered at random during drives almost causing several auto accidents. Every one of these issues is documented through repair orders and correspondence.
