I purchased a set of 4 Kumho tires on my vehicle on 9-24-24 when the vehicle had approximately 62,710 miles. On [XXX] with approximately 78,922 miles on the vehicle, I was informed that all the tires were cracked, they showed me in between the tread and they said they needed replacement. The tires had significantly less mileage than the advertised treadwear warranty. I maintained the vehicle according to manufacturer recommendations and had regular tire rotations and inspections performed. I am concerned that the tires experienced premature wear, which could affect vehicle safety and require replacement much sooner than expected. I contacted the tire manufacturer regarding the warranty, but my concerns have not been satisfactorily resolved-to date I have not heard from them, I emailed them on. 6-1-26 as well as the Volkswagen dealership in North Attleboro were the work was done. I am submitting this complaint because I believe the tire wear may indicate a product defect or issue affecting consumers. Tire size 205/60/R 16/92H They were the Solus TA – 31 tire I have original receipts if needed. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The tire went flat as I was driving and when I had to change the tire I noticed that the tire had blown out on the sidewall on the inside of the rim of the car. The car only has 12,000 miles and I had a tire rotation done on my first oil change. I called the dealership to see if the tire was covered under warranty since I brought the car new for Steve White VW of Greenville, SC. They told me since I didn’t buy a warranty with the purchase of the car then it was nothing they could do about it. I brought a car thinking that the tires should be good until they wear out not blow out. Also I have TPMS light on as well as the check engine light is on in the vehicle. 205/55R17

205/60 R 16 I was driving on the Loop 101 South in Scottsdale, Arizona going highway speeds when I heard my passenger side rear tire explode. There were no preceding warning lights or tire pressure warnings before it happened. I pulled over and say that the sidewall blew out on both sides. There were no puncture marks on the tire that would have caused the blowout except for the sidewall failing.

We own a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. While driving at 55 MPH, he heard a loud Bang noise and experienced difficulty steering the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. We pull over to inspect the vehicle, We did not see any problems with the tires and they looked ok. But there was smoke coming up from the front passenger side. We were able to drive the vehicle another mile before more smoke was coming from under the passenger side. When we pulled over again we realized the right front tire on the passenger side was shredded. We called AAA. replaced the tire with the spare and went home. We called the VW dealer and took the car in. They said it was a front suspension coil spring that broke and punctured the right front tire.

TPMS failure on each tire and ABS went out immediately. Was on he highway when failure happened; had to use the emergency run away truck ramp to stop. Break pads seized on back left side causing damage to rotor that was just replaced. Only thing that saved my life was it was in the middle of the night.

The contact owns a 2017 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated while operating the vehicle, it was discovered that the horn was inoperable and there was no longer an audible sound while activated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. After retrieving the vehicle, the failure continued intermittently. After owning the tires for 35000 miles the tires started to split on all four. Shaking was notice about a week before 5/22/21 when i got up to 65 miles an hour on the interstate. Tread life was good on the tires and the tire shop helped me get new ones. I had no warning and I rotated my tires every 4000 miles or so.

THE HANKOOK TIRES I HAVE ARE BOLDING WAY TOO EARLY. THEY STARTED TO AT 32,000 FOR THE FIRST 2 TIRES AND 18,000 FOR THE OTHER 2. THE TIRES ARE RATED FOR 70,000 MILES AND I'M NOT GETTING ANYWHERE NEAR THAT. EVERY TIME IT RAINS I HYDROPLANE AND ITS NOW UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE MY CAR. I HAVE CONTACTED HANKOOK AND WAS TOLD TO GO TO THE PLACE OF PURCHASE. SO I GO TO VW AND THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ALL 4 BUT ONLY THE 2. AFTER SOME ARGUING THEY TELL ME TO DRIVE AROUND ON MY BOLDING TIRES AND WERE THEM DOWN MORE AND THEY WILL TRY TO GET ME NEW TIRES BUT I WOULD STILL HAVE TO PAY. THIS IS UNSAFE FOR A CAR DEALER TO TELL ME TO CONTINUE DRIVING ON THE, EVEN AFTER THEY SEEN HOW WORN DOWN THEY WERE! THIS IS ALSO THE 2ND SET OF TIRES I HAD FOR THIS CAR WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CAR ONLY HAS 52000 MILES NOW.

THIS VEHICLE CAME FROM THE MANUFACTURER WITH DUNLOP SP SPORT 01 A TIRES (225/40R18) (AUGUST 2012 PURCHASE). WITHIN NINE MONTHS (8800 MILES) TWO TIRES DEVELOPED SIDEWALL BUBBLES. AFTER CONTACTING DUNLOP, THEY REPLACED TWO TIRES ST NO CHARGE. AT THAT TIME, THE GOODYEAR/DUNLOP RETAIL STORE SLOWED ME TO PURCHASE A TIRE WARRANTY ON ALL FOUR TIRES. OVER THE PAST SIX YEARS AND 80,000 MILES, I HAVE REPLACED FOURTEEN (14) OF THESE TIRES UNDER THE WARRANTY AND HAVE HAD TO PURCHASE A WARRANTY WITH EACH REPLACEMENT TIRE. THESE TIRES ARE THE ONLY TIRES I HAVE EVER OWNED IN ALMOST 40 YRS OF DRIVING THAT HAVE DEVELOPED SIDEWALK BUBBLES. I HAVE OTHER TIRES FROM A DIFFERENT MANUFACTURER WITH THE SAME SIZE TIRE ON A DIFFERENT VEHICLE AND THEY HAVE NOT DEVELOPED ANY SIDEWALL BUBBLES. THESE TIRES ARE A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE RECALLED AND REPLACED BY GOODYEAR/DUNLOP. THE FIRST BUBBLE WAS 6/14/13 AND THE LATEST BUBBLE WAS 9/8/18.
