See attached document for complaint. I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding the handling of safety recalls 25V572 and 25V544 on my vehicle, and to urgently request your assistance in having all repairs authorized at a local Ford dealership, due to the profound unprofessionalism and neglect I have experienced from the selling dealership, Pure Honda Ferndale. My vehicle is a 2016 Ford Edge Sport with approximately 101,003 miles. I purchased it from Pure Honda Ferndale just prior to being notified of these active recalls, after which the vehicle was understandably grounded. The core of my issue lies with the conduct of the dealership's management. Before the recall notice and the vehicle being pulled from sale, I was in direct communication with the General Manager, Mr. Sheldon Taylor. He personally assured me that he would resolve several preexisting issues, including arranging for a vehicle exchange or repairs. These issues include the dealership selling me defective and outdated tires and a rim package that no local tire shop will service, as well as a noticeable and hazardous defect in the SYNC system where the screen experiences complete blackouts, particularly when using the navigation and radio. However, once the reca ll was enforced, Mr. Taylor ceased all communication and delegated my case to a sales representative, who has since also ignored my repeated calls and the recall notices I have provided. I have been left with a vehicle I cannot safely drive due to the open recalls and an infotainment system that fails unpredictably, creating significant distraction and safety risk. The dealership that sold me this problematic vehicle now refuses to take responsibility for its prior promises. Given the complete breakdown in communication and the lack of professional accountability from Pure Honda Ferndale, I do not trust them to manage my vehicle's critical safety repairs or address this additional SYNC system defect. Therefore, I respectfully request that the NHTSA assist me in obtaining permission t

On 12-11-22 I had a flat tire. I went to put on the spare, following directions step by step, and placing the jack where the arrow points in the correct spot. I jacked my car up and once the tire was off, the car fell onto the ground bending the jack. I then realized the area the jack sits, along with other areas under the car are badly corroded. It's available for inspection, yes. This could have badly hurt me or my 4 year old who was near me had the jack flew out or my hand had been in the area. I am concerned if there are any other framework issues since the car landed hard on concrete. I also dont know if there is other hidden corrosion I cannot see that could pose saftey issues while driving.

Hi When engaged in Apple Play or Ford Car Play and an incoming call comes in the volume is like 20 and it scares the crap out of us. It's not the phone, as it happens with any phone we plug into the USB or use wirelessly vis bluetooth. Dealer says Fiord is aware but seems to me they are taking too long to fix. I can't help thinking people are going to get into accidents from becoming scared. You can manually turn the volume down while it's ringing but at that time it is too late. It havens every time we get a call since we have owned the car.

The Yakima roof rack system (base clips, towers and bars) were attached to the roof of my husband's new 2022 Ford Edge. Our Thule Hullavators and 2 eddyline kayaks were also on the roof rack. It was all secure and properly installed. After 90 min heading north on I75 the front passenger clip failed sending the entire roof rack flying. We pulled over immediately and one kayak landed, still attached to the bars, in the left 2 lanes of the highway while the 2nd kayak landed in the middle of the highway, close to the right 2 lanes. We ran out into the freeway to get the kayak out of the road and are very lucky that no one hit it, was hit by it or hit us in the process! One of our kayaks is a complete loss, the roof rack system, including the Thule Hullavators are also a total loss and there is damage to the roof of the car as well. We are working with State Farm to repair the car There was zero warning this would or could happen though afterwards we have been able to find complaints on the Better Business Bureau regarding this exact thing happening to other people! Needless to say we are very upset and saddened by the loss of our property. Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated as clearly there are others who have been harmed in this way by Yakima's product. More pictures are available if needed.

OPENING/CLOSING DRIVER SIDE DOOR; DRIVER DOOR AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON WHEN DOOR IS CLOSED WHICH LEAVES ON INTERIOR LIGHTS AFTER EXITING THE VEHICLE. IT HAS STARTED TO OCCUR MORE OFTEN WITHIN THE LAST MONTH, APPROX 85,000 MILES. WHEN THE DRIVER AJAR LIGHT IS ON MY DOOR LOCKS WILL NOT ENGAGE/INITIATE DURING DRIVING LIKE THEY SHOULD NORMALLY DO. CONTACTED USED CAR DEALER AND THEY SUGGEST THE CHARGE TO FIX CAN RANGE FROM 195.00-450.00, DEPENDING ON THE ISSUE, SENSOR REPLACEMENT ETC.....

2007 FORD EDGE TRANSMISSION JOLTS AFTER DECELERATION AND PUSHING THE GAS AGAIN. THIS SOMETIMES ALSO IS FOLLOWED BY SLUGGISH BEHAVIOR. FORD JUST KEEPS NOT FINDING NOTHING "WRONG" EVEN AFTER INSPECTION, REPLACED PARTS, AND VIDEO OF THE EVENTS TAKING PLACE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF REPORTS OF SIMILAR ISSUES ONLINE. SOUNDS LIKE FORD NEEDS A RECALL BAD ON THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES! THIS EVENT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR HAS BEEN REPLACED. FORD SAYS NO PROBLEMS EXIST.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD EDGE. WHILE DRIVING FOR A PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME, THE FRONT END OF THE PASSENGER SIDE EMITTED SMOKE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED DUE TO THE AIR CONDITIONER PIPES BEING CLOGGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SENSOR INDICATES DOOR AJAR, PREVENTING OTHER FUNCTIONS OF THE VEHICLE FROM OPERATING NORMALLY, SUCH AS DOME LIGHT TURNING OFF WHILE DRIVING AND AFTER LOCKING DOORS, DOORS WILL NOT REMAIN LOCKED WHILE DRIVING AND OTHER RELATED FUNCTIONS. ISSUES CAUSES A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY UNTIL IT EVENTUALLY LOSES CHARGE, LEAVING DRIVER STRANDED. DOOR AJAR INDICATOR REMAINS ON THE ENTIRE TIME DURING OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE.

THE DOOR LATCH LIGHT STAYS ON DURNING DRIVE TIME, IT PREVENTS LOCKED DOORS AND LIGHT ON MIRRORS AND INTERIOR LIGHT STAY ON. I HAVE READ THERE IS MULTIPLE FORD EDGE DRIVERS WITH SAME SAFTETY ISSUE. THIS NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED ITS VERY DANGEROUSE DRIVING HAZARD IT PREVENTS DOOR FROM LOCKING DURING HIGH SPEEDS. ...UPDATED 08-06/15 *BF UPDATED 9/29/2015

THE DRIVER DOOR LATCH IS DEFECTIVE THUS FAILING TO NOTIFY THE SENSOR THAT THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY CLOSED. THE DOOR, ALTHOUGH CLOSED, REGISTERS OPEN. THE DOOR AJAR WARNING SOUNDS ON THE DASH BOARD, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON AND DOORS DO NOT LOCK. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE DEFECTIVE LATCH MAY AFFECT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BECAUSE THE DOORS INTERMITTENTLY FAIL TO LOCK. I BEGAN SEARCHING FORD FORUMS ONLY TO FIND THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE FOR MANY FORD OWNERS. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR CORPORATION ONLY TO BE INFORMED THAT THEY KNEW NOTHING OF THIS ISSUE. IT WOULD BE APPROPRIATE FOR FORD TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS ISSUE, REPAIR THE FAULTY PART AT THEIR EXPENSE, AND CONTINUE TO FOLLOW INDUSTRY STANDARDS BEST PRACTICES.

MY WIFE WAS GOING HOME AND TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. THE COLLISION AVOIDENCE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME, BUT SHE WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED FROM THE TRAFFIC BEHIND. THE VEHICLE NEVER CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. WE HAVE HAD THE SYSTEM GO OFF BEFORE BUT NOT TO THIS EXTENT. THE DEALER HAS HAD NO COMPLAINTS AND CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS THE VEHICLE ACTS UP.

<<I PURCHASED THIS CAR ON 3/31/15, SO THIS MAY HAVE BEEN OCCURRING PRIOR TO PURCHASE, BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED TO ME.>> WHEN CLOSING THE DRIVER'S DOOR, I GET A "DOOR AJAR" MESSAGE, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS FULLY SHUT. I CAN GET THE MESSAGE TO GO OFF IF I SLAM THE DOOR REPEATEDLY, BUT SOMETIMES IT TAKES TWO OR THREE SLAMS TO GET IT TO GO OFF. THIS CAN BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHEN I'M NOT ABLE TO GET THE MESSAGE TO GO OFF. IF IT OCCURS AT NIGHT, I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHTS IN THE CAR ON. I'M ALSO CONCERNED ABOUT THE DRIVER'S AIR BAGS BEING ABLE TO DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT, IF THE SENSOR THINKS THE DOOR IS OPEN. THIS PROBLEM REALLY WARRANTS A RECALL TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.
NHTSA complaint #10704029 — an unverified report by a vehicle owner.
THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HAS A BAD SENSOR. IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE DOOR AS BEING CLOSED UNLESS THE DOOR IS OPENED/CLOSED NUMEROUS TIMES, SOMETIMES IT WILL NOT EVER RECOGNIZE THE CLOSURE.
