On June 20th 2026 while driving my 2023 Ford Edge SEL AWD at approximately 35mph on an active hwy (93 AZ NB in Wickenburg AZ) the vehicle experienced a sudden catastrophic loss of motive power and came to a sudden stop in a jerking motion. The vehicle completely disabled itself without warning in live traffic, presenting an immediate and severe safety hazard to myself and surrounding motorists. I was forced to stay in an immobile position impeding the flow of traffic and could not coast safely out of the way of hazardous traffic conditions and subsequently was almost hit by a semi-truck and another POV. The vehicle was subsequently towed out of the hwy with law enforcement present for safety and the local repair shop provided a quick analysis of transmission failure. About 2 weeks later, the vehicle was towed by AAA to another mechanic and subsequently an authorized Ford Dealership where through diagnostic evaluation and repair. The official scan log revealed a critical internal failure of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) identified by Diagnostic Trouble Code P0600 (serial communication link failure). This total electronic communication breakdown immediately triggered an un-commanded cascade of secondary transmission performance faults, specifically P0751 (shift solenoid A Stuck off) and P2700, P2701, P2704, P27B2, P27B4 (transmission friction element application time/performance faults). The failure terminated in codes P073D (unable to engage neutral), P07E4 (unable to engage gear 7), and P07E6 (unable to engage gear 8) which locked the powertrain. Crucially, this sudden module collapse and cascading powertrain destruction occurred exactly 81 days following a mandated Factory Recall regarding the PCM was performed by an authorized FORD dealership on my vehicle. The engineering evidence suggests that a corrupted software flash or module disruption during the recall process caused the master PCM to issue erratic hydraulic line pressure commands, starving the trans

When I put my 2013 Ford edge in reverse the backup camera goes out for about 5 to 10 seconds or it just doesn’t work at all. And also I just paid $672 to have the drivers side door latch replaced because the recall had expired in November of 2025 the door ajar light would stay on and the dash would say place vehicle in park

While driving the HVAC stops working, radio locks at current setting (cannot turn volume up or down, etc.), screen goes blank or locks, windows do not open or close. Their are multiple warnings about sensors not working. Malfunctioning driver assist jerks wheel when driving through a restaraunt drive-thru. Had the sensor replaced for the adaptive cruise control and it did not correct the cruise issue. The issue initially started with the monitor screen going blank randomly and then progressing to the above issues. This had been happening for the last 2 or 3 years before the above accured.

My torque converter is malfunctioning, there are no warning lights, and my car only started driving differently very recently in the past couple of weeks. According to the Ford mechanic my car has been throwing error codes since early May. The dealership was able to confirm that this happens, and that my torque converter needs to be replaced. My car is only four years old and only has 75,000 miles on it. Ford refuses to do anything to help with this almost $8000 repair. They also issued a recall for the backup camera, update was pushed to my car that was supposed to correct it, my backup camera now goes black frequently when I am reversing.

*Initial engine startup rough idling and also after filling gas tank up, periodic stalling, Check Engine light come on, P302 Code misfire of cylinder #2, Disappearing coolant with no observable leaks, white smoke upon startups. I am bringing the car in tomorrow to Ford for an engine inspection/analysis. *The engine stalled on the Hwy. The vehicle will be inspected tomorrow to confirm long block flawed design. *rough idling and check engine light has progressively become more frequent over a prior of the last 2 years. Reported to service advisor on multiple occasions without resolution.

The check engine light came on while the vehicle was being driven during a vacation. This happened after the vehicle had a maintenance-required tune-up performed by the dealership on May 19, 2026. The vehicle was not having performance issues at the time, but I did not want to drive home with the check engine light on. The very next business day, I took the vehicle to the dealership for inspection. The dealership advised me that the vehicle had coolant intrusion involving cylinder 4 and that the engine would need to be replaced. Because this was a serious diagnosis, I then took the vehicle to another reputable automotive repair shop for a second opinion. That shop also advised that the engine needed to be replaced due to the coolant intrusion issue. This creates a safety concern because coolant intrusion can lead to misfires, engine damage, overheating, loss of power, stalling, or engine failure while the vehicle is being driven. I was more than 250 miles from home and had to avoid driving the vehicle because of the risk of further engine damage or possible failure on the road. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The issue was inspected by the dealership and by an independent automotive repair shop. No crash, fire, injury, or death occurred. The check engine light came on while driving during a vacation. No other warning message is known at this time.

Complainant: [XXX] Vehicle: 2020 Ford Edge VIN: [XXX] Current Mileage: Approx. 152,000 miles Target of Complaint: Ford Motor Company / [Don Chalmers Ford] Subject: Request for Goodwill Financial Assistance Due to Documented, Inherent Transmission Manufacturing Defect I am filing this dispute to request financial assistance/cost-sharing from Ford Motor Company for a total transmission failure on my 2020 Ford Edge. While the vehicle is past its standard powertrain warranty, the failure is directly caused by an inherent manufacturing defect that Ford has internally acknowledged and documented. The dealership has quoted $9,000 for a full replacement, an unreasonable financial burden for a known, pre-existing mechanical flaw. The vehicle is experiencing severe shifting difficulties, specifically when attempting to transition the vehicle out of Park into any other gear. A formal diagnostic inspection conducted by the authorized Ford dealership confirmed a total transmission failure. Crucially, the dealership verified that the vehicle's symptoms and mechanical failures match Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) 857 / 20-2190 (tel:857%20/%2020-2190). This internal Ford bulletin specifically addresses harsh engagements, shifting faults, and component degradation within this vehicle's transmission model. The dealership initially denied financial assistance because this vehicle’s specific VIN is not included in safety recall Campaign 20S47. I wish to clarify that I am not arguing a violation of a safety recall. I understand that Campaign 20S47 is a narrow, VIN-specific safety mandate. Instead, my case rests on the fact that the dealership’s own diagnostics verified the exact mechanical failure described in Ford’s internal Technical Service Bulletins. A TSB proves that Ford is fully aware of a widespread, systemic manufacturing defect in these units. The exclusion of my VIN from a safety recall does not negate the fact that my vehicle suff INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552

The safety system back up camera has been malfunctioning for 18 months. At times the image will be inverted, at times it will appear to be zoomed in very close, but most of the time it does not work at all. The alerts (beeping) that should be occurring when identifying a hazard do not work. The horn no longer works. Several times the entire electrical system will shut off and then reset. There have not been any warning lights on the dash to indicate why this is happening. My vehicle has not been examined by a dealer or independent service center.

I am wanting to share my concerns about my 2019 Ford Edge. My Edge has 64,500 miles on it and the transmission needs replacing; it is sitting in my back driveway. My daughter and I just made it home from a trip when the transmission gave out - when we pulled into the driveway, and it was still in gear, it put itself into park! We tried to put it in drive and reverse and again, as we were watching the gear dial - it put itself into park again! Before that, I had noticed some issues about jerking and revving up so I took it to the nearest Ford dealership - after hooking it up to the computer several times (while it was UNDER 60,000 miles on the odometer), the dealership told me that they changed a few things on the computer and 'it would drive like hell for a while, but it will get used to my driving and get better' !! After contacting them more, they told me that it needed a new throttle body. I wanted a second opinion so a friend trailered it to another Ford dealership and they tested the transmission liquids and told me that it needs a new transmission. (It was now over 60K.) Ford said that if I would pay them $4500, they MIGHT cover the other the $4500 for the new transmission. I had my Edge for about a year when this happened and now it has been sitting in my driveway since last summer!! I am still making the monthly payment on it, plus full coverage insurance for a pretty driveway ornament. My friend found paperwork regarding transmissions like mine having troubles (and he showed it to the local dealership - they did nothing) so I have been watching for recalls on the transmission. If you have any suggestions, etc please let me know - I do not have $4500 to fix my car...... When this all started, I contacted Ford and started a case on it. (8/26/24). Case #XXX. I was told by the dealership to start it myself and keep an eye on it; but when I called Ford regarding it - they told me that the dealership should be the ones doing this...... The contact owns a 2024 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the engine seized. In addition, the instrument cluster displayed a black screen with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle started. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a wiring failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure reoccurred and became a persistent failure. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times. The contact was informed that the failure could not be diagnosed. The contact stated that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. The contact received an unknown recall notification with a similar failure; however, the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The part behind the dashboard touchscreen for the radio went bad, they call it the APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module). It allows us to see the screen when in reverse among other things. They are incredibly common to go bad on certain model years of ford vehicles. Very expensive to fix as the module is programmed per VIN. The screen does not work, just stays black the entire time.

I am writing to express my concern with how Ford is handling Safety Recall 25S89. I have had numerous incidents where the camera has failed when backing up and have photos to document these instances. I brought my 2017 Edge to the dealership today and was told that it did not need replacement. So, it's "safe" to have the camera display a blank screen some of the time? I would think that the rationale behind a backup camera is that it is safe 100% of the time or it should be replaced. If a part fails only some of the time, is it considered a safe part per the NHTSA? I would really appreciate hearing back from someone at NHTSA on this issue and perhaps there needs to be review with Ford on how this is being handled.

The rear camera only works sporadically. It will work once in awhile or will work and then not work at all for awhile. So far Ford has not addressed this make and model as having a problem. One of our teenagers is the primary driver and this is unsafe.

Computer screen does not work all the time, and the backup camera does not work, and when it does, it will stay on while moving forward. The computer screen freezes up and will not allow me to adjust the temperature or the radio and other options that are normally on the screen.
