About a month ago, July 2026, i started to notice shaking bumping when car shifted out of first gear. Brought to local garage and they said needs new transmission.

2015 Ford Edge Colorado Springs, CO

The transmission in my 2015 Ford Edge completely broke at about 73000 miles. I heard a LOUD "clunk" sound at a red light, and the vehicle does not accelerate at all. The check engine light also came on. I had it inspected by a certified mechanic, and the entire transmission needs replacement. Apparently the particular transmission in this vehicle has an extremely high failure rate, and Ford needs to take responsibility for this incredibly expensive failure.

When I put my 2013 Ford edge in reverse the backup camera goes out for about 5 to 10 seconds or it just doesn’t work at all. And also I just paid $672 to have the drivers side door latch replaced because the recall had expired in November of 2025 the door ajar light would stay on and the dash would say place vehicle in park

There should be a recall on the sunvisors. Because it is a safety issue, because when the Sun is in your face and you can't see driving it can very well cause an accident or getting a ticket for not being able to see your speed that you're going, because you're so far up trying to get the Sun out of your face. You can't see any of the controls or your dashboard.. That is a safety hazard. My driver's side one is broken. I can't use it at all and I'm not paying $200 to get it fixed. That's insane on top of that.My passenger side is one is starting to break as well. Also, my car is very sluggish. When i'm driving, it is sluggish back and forth like it doesn't get good acceleration. There should be a recall for that.As well. I've also noticed when I'm stopped at a light, and I slowly let off the brake the car start to jump.

Component Failure: Engine - I am reporting a dangerous engine defect in my 2017 Ford Edge which involves the 2.0L EcoBoost I4 F DOHC 14v engine. My vehicle has experienced total engine failure due to coolant leaking into the engine cylinders. This is a known design flaw documented by Ford in TSB 19-2346, yet no safety recall has been issued for the Edge model. This defect poses a significant safety risk as it can lead to sudden engine stalling, loss of power while driving, and potential engine fires due to overheating. My vehicle started having issues with coolant levels in December 2025, which led to believe that it was the water pump. This was the first indicator that coolant was leaking somewhere. The repair shop replaced the water pump along with the thermostat and heater hose. Later that week the vehicle started stalling and left my daughter stranded. It was able to be jumped and driven to a shop where the battery was replaced thinking that maybe that was the issue. Within 24 hours the engine started backfiring which left my daughter stranded again. The vehicle was towed to the shop and water pump was replaced again under the warranty but the vehicle just kept backfiring and wouldn't start. It was towed to a Ford dealership where they said that it may need a new engine. Ford knew of the coolant engine intrusion issue and pretended that they didn't know what caused the engine failure and the only solution is an $8k new engine. This has caused an impact and financial burden. My vehicle is currently inoperable. I am facing a repair estimate of $8,000 – $10,000 in addition to all the prior repairs leading up to this catastrophic engine failure . My daughter was left stranded twice and other owners are being left stranded as well with dangerous, failing vehicles because Ford has not transitioned this TSB into a formal recall or Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP), despite the clear risk of engine failure at highway speeds. Vehicle Information Year: 2024 Make: Ford Model: Edge VIN: [XXX] Description of the Safety Issue I am submitting this complaint regarding the unexpected failure of the panoramic glass roof on my 2024 Ford Edge. The vehicle was parked in my residential driveway. As I began backing out of the driveway, I heard a very loud explosion or bang. I immediately stopped and inspected the vehicle. I discovered that the panoramic glass roof had shattered outward. There had been no collision, no rollover, no object striking the vehicle, and no severe weather. The vehicle had simply been sitting in my driveway before I began backing out. The interior sunshade was closed at the time of the incident. After the glass shattered, a substantial amount of broken glass remained on top of the closed sunshade and around the roof opening. I also observed that there was essentially no broken glass in my driveway, which suggests the glass failed from within the panel rather than from an external impact. This sudden failure occurred without warning and created a significant safety concern. Had this happened while I was driving at highway speeds with passengers in the vehicle or with the sunshade open, the results could have been much more dangerous due to falling glass and the driver's distraction. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this incident to determine whether similar failures are occurring in 2024 Ford Edge vehicles and whether this represents a potential safety defect involving panoramic sunroofs. Transmission has gone out after only having the vehicle for 2.5 years. It will cost $10,000 to repair and that is not feasible or right. The mileage is at 74,000 but the warranty expired at 60,000. Ford should be held accountable for building these vehicles with awful transmissions.

The motorized track assembly separated from the moonroof interior sunshade on my 2022 Ford Edge, leaving the sunshade drooping down in the passenger compartment. While my vehicle is just out of the standard bumper to bumper warranty period, I feel Ford Motor Company should issue a repair recall to all affected owners to fix this issue.

A month or so ago my car had a rough idle and the mechanic couldn't figure out why. Then last week my car lost power on the interstate, during rush hour. I'm lucky I didn't cause an accident as the loss of power was so sudden and all the traffic around me. Somehow I was able to safely pull over on the shoulder. I had my car towed and the mechanic found that the flex plate had failed and is cracked. As a result the car will no longer start. The recall letter that my mechanic found stated that a rough idle was one of the symptoms of a failing flex plate. My vehicle is 10 years and 3 months old but only has 93000 miles. The dealership said they won't cover it because it is out of date and their customer service line was no help. There were no warning lights or codes that appeared on the display screen. My mechanic found the issue by taking somethings apart.

Frequently, when the car is in reverse, the screen which shows the image from the backup camera goes blank while backing up. The screen typically stays blank for approximately 5 seconds and then comes back on. Sometimes I have to place the shifter in “park” and then return to “reverse” to get the screen to display the image. I have received a letter from Ford Motor Co. which describes the stated condition and offering to repair free of charge for vehicles that are not older than 15 years. However, the letter references only my 2015 Ford F150. I called the local dealer to see if my 2013 Edge is covered under the recall and the dealer stated it is not covered. Since my Edge is less than 15 years old I think Ford should have to cover all Ford vehicles which have the stated problem.

EGR Cooler is broken, which could have caused engine damage and potentially could have led to car catching on fire with my daughter and I in it. Vehicle had trouble starting, then white smoke started coming out of exhaust. My daughter and I were stranded, waiting for a towing company. Cost of repair is more than $2600. There were no warning lamps, messages or symptoms prior to the issue. This problem has been diagnosed by a Ford dealership. I spoke with Ford customer service and they refuse to pay for the repair. The following article describes current class action lawsuits against Ford on this issue: [XXX] "According to the lawsuit, Ford has known of the Ecoboost coolant leak problem since at least 2010, based on pre-production tests, early warranty claims, replacement part orders, numerous technical service bulletins and consumer complaints submitted to the automaker’s dealer network and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Nevertheless, Ford has “knowingly, actively and affirmatively omitted and concealed the existence” of the defect in order to sell more vehicles, the suit alleges. As for owners and lessees, the complaint alleges the drivers have overpaid for vehicles that increase their chance of being involved in a collision due to an engine overheating, catching fire or catastrophically failing, the lawsuit says." The backup camera works periodically. Over a year ago, I went to Fiesta Ford to complain but it would cost me over $1000 to repair the camera. Many rimes it will start to work and during my back up, the screen would go black. There were several times when this occurred where I almost backed into another car backing up at the same time. The message on the screen says camera currently not available.
