FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

On June 20th 2026 while driving my 2023 Ford Edge SEL AWD at approximately 35mph on an active hwy (93 AZ NB in Wickenburg AZ) the vehicle experienced a sudden catastrophic loss of motive power and came to a sudden stop in a jerking motion. The vehicle completely disabled itself without warning in live traffic, presenting an immediate and severe safety hazard to myself and surrounding motorists. I was forced to stay in an immobile position impeding the flow of traffic and could not coast safely out of the way of hazardous traffic conditions and subsequently was almost hit by a semi-truck and another POV. The vehicle was subsequently towed out of the hwy with law enforcement present for safety and the local repair shop provided a quick analysis of transmission failure. About 2 weeks later, the vehicle was towed by AAA to another mechanic and subsequently an authorized Ford Dealership where through diagnostic evaluation and repair. The official scan log revealed a critical internal failure of the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) identified by Diagnostic Trouble Code P0600 (serial communication link failure). This total electronic communication breakdown immediately triggered an un-commanded cascade of secondary transmission performance faults, specifically P0751 (shift solenoid A Stuck off) and P2700, P2701, P2704, P27B2, P27B4 (transmission friction element application time/performance faults). The failure terminated in codes P073D (unable to engage neutral), P07E4 (unable to engage gear 7), and P07E6 (unable to engage gear 8) which locked the powertrain. Crucially, this sudden module collapse and cascading powertrain destruction occurred exactly 81 days following a mandated Factory Recall regarding the PCM was performed by an authorized FORD dealership on my vehicle. The engineering evidence suggests that a corrupted software flash or module disruption during the recall process caused the master PCM to issue erratic hydraulic line pressure commands, starving the trans

There should be a recall on the sunvisors. Because it is a safety issue, because when the Sun is in your face and you can't see driving it can very well cause an accident or getting a ticket for not being able to see your speed that you're going, because you're so far up trying to get the Sun out of your face. You can't see any of the controls or your dashboard.. That is a safety hazard. My driver's side one is broken. I can't use it at all and I'm not paying $200 to get it fixed. That's insane on top of that.My passenger side is one is starting to break as well. Also, my car is very sluggish. When i'm driving, it is sluggish back and forth like it doesn't get good acceleration. There should be a recall for that.As well. I've also noticed when I'm stopped at a light, and I slowly let off the brake the car start to jump.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I was dropping off my fiancée to her doctor appointment and while driving to park the car started to smoke profusely. I was unable to tell at first, but I quickly realized that there was a flame spouting from between the front windshield and underneath the hood of the car. I jumped out of the car and grabbed both my [XXX] and [XXX] out of the car and immediately started running towards the office. We weren't even a full 7ft away before the car was fully engulfed by the flames. The fire department came to put it out and it was towed away by our local trucking company where it's currently being held. There were no warning lights before this. FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I am filing a consumer complaint against Ford Motor Company regarding a known, severe safety defect in my 2013 Ford Edge 3.5L AWD. The internal water pump has failed, leaking green coolant onto the ground and threatening catastrophic engine failure. Ford designed this vehicle with an internal water pump that dumps coolant into the engine oil when it fails, hiding the defect from consumers until the powertrain is destroyed. Furthermore, the All-Wheel Drive Power Transfer Unit (PTU) is overheating due to a design that labels the fluid 'lifetime' and prevents standard servicing. I purchased this vehicle for $14,400 and have invested $4,000 in maintenance, and I am seeking state consumer protection advocacy regarding Ford's deceptive engineering practices."

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The check engine light came on while the vehicle was being driven during a vacation. This happened after the vehicle had a maintenance-required tune-up performed by the dealership on May 19, 2026. The vehicle was not having performance issues at the time, but I did not want to drive home with the check engine light on. The very next business day, I took the vehicle to the dealership for inspection. The dealership advised me that the vehicle had coolant intrusion involving cylinder 4 and that the engine would need to be replaced. Because this was a serious diagnosis, I then took the vehicle to another reputable automotive repair shop for a second opinion. That shop also advised that the engine needed to be replaced due to the coolant intrusion issue. This creates a safety concern because coolant intrusion can lead to misfires, engine damage, overheating, loss of power, stalling, or engine failure while the vehicle is being driven. I was more than 250 miles from home and had to avoid driving the vehicle because of the risk of further engine damage or possible failure on the road. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The issue was inspected by the dealership and by an independent automotive repair shop. No crash, fire, injury, or death occurred. The check engine light came on while driving during a vacation. No other warning message is known at this time.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

On June 3, 2026, my 2019 Ford Edge (2.0L EcoBoost) experienced a sudden loss of motive power and stalled in the middle of a busy, high-traffic intersection. Before stalling, the vehicle emitted thick white smoke from the exhaust. This was a life-threatening situation as I was stranded in moving traffic. The vehicle was towed to Mike Burkart Ford, where it was diagnosed with an internal EGR cooler leak. This is a known issue documented by Ford in TSB 20-2234. Despite the safety-critical nature of the stall, there is currently no active recall for this component in the 2019 model year.

This is my wife’s car, I have already had to replace the evap hoses on this car twice due to faulty motor craft purge valves. I also replaced the charcoal canister before the second time I replaced the evap hoses so somewhere in the system there is a faulty part. Now at 80,000 miles my wife’s car is experiencing what many others are calling “shuddering”. How am I supposed to get anywhere in life when I just paid this car off and now I need a new transmission after I have done all services as specified by manufacturer.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Recently I have noticed, in my 2017 Ford Edge SEL, that my coolant level in reservoir has been low a few times with no puddling anywhere under car. I have read that this is a known issue with this vehicle that has the 2.0L ECOBOOST engine. What can be done about this? From what I have been reading, this a design issue that Ford knows about but has not offered a fix. The cost to replace the engine is more than vehicle is worth. Is there some financial assistance or full coverage to cover the cost for my vehicle to be fixed? This has been an ongoing issue starting with, shifting hard at times, coolant loss with no explanation, and rough idling after cold start.

2018 Ford Edge Langhorne, PA

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The vehicle experienced engine failure due to coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders. The issue presented with engine misfire, including diagnostic trouble code P0302, rough running, and coolant entering the combustion chamber. The condition was confirmed by a dealership, which determined that the engine has internal damage and requires full engine replacement. There were no external coolant leaks observed. This failure occurred at approximately 88,000 miles and was not consistent with normal wear and tear. The issue developed without significant prior warning other than engine misfire and rough operation. This condition may create a safety risk, as engine misfire and internal damage can lead to loss of power, reduced vehicle performance, or potential engine stall while driving. Technical Service Bulletins have been issued for similar vehicles equipped with the same engine, including TSB 19-2172, TSB 19-2208, and TSB 22-2229, which describe coolant intrusion into engine cylinders and require engine replacement. This suggests the issue is not isolated and may affect other vehicles with the same engine design.

Safety Complaint – 2019 Ford Edge Transmission and Engine Shutdown Issues To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint to report ongoing safety-related defects with my 2019 Ford Edge, which I purchased new. At 30,000 miles, the auto on/off stopped working and was not fixed. After approximately 50,000 miles, the vehicle began shutting off after refueling. At 68,000 miles, the transmission started shuddering during acceleration. There was no warning light, I just noticed that something was wrong. This behavior is extremely concerning, as it creates a risk of sudden loss of power while driving and could result in an accident. Ford is aware of these issues but has not issued a recall. I paid to have the torque converter replaced; however, the same transmission problem has returned. Ford has declined to provide further assistance. Additionally, the check engine light is now illuminated, which Ford attributes to a software issue. Despite multiple repair attempts and clear safety concerns, these problems remain unresolved. I respectfully request that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this matter, as the defects appear to be systemic and pose a potential risk to drivers. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
