A spike years after the car went on sale usually means a part wearing
out on schedule across the whole fleet — the kind of pattern no single

Recalls on the 2024 Ford Edge
A complaint is one owner's allegation. A recall is the point at which
the manufacturer or a regulator agreed the defect is real and dangerous
enough to fix for free — however old the car is.
Canada — Transport Canada
Canada runs its own recall programme, and its campaigns do not
always mirror the American ones.

Issue: Under certain conditions, the infotainment system could overheat. As a result, the rearview camera image may not display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Ford will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to eligible vehicles to update the APIM software. Alternatively, you may schedule an appointment to have the update performed at a Ford dealership.

The liftgate has a sensor so that you can place you foot under the vehicle to open or close the liftgate. The sensor is too sensitive and even if do not put your foot under the vehicle the liftgate closes on your head or shoulder when you are putting things in or out of the rear area. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:HORN
Good day. I purchased a 2024 Ford Edge SEL in March 2024. I would like to call your attention to the vehicle's horn. I was unable to alert a truck driver who was backing up that he was going to back inro my car. The horn for the vehicle is extremely weak, in fact too weak to be audible to a driver in front of you who has their car windows closed. It is inaudible in that instance nor is it audible over traffic noise or rain. In my case, the only thing that stopped the truck continuing its reversing was my vehicle - he couldn't continue moving. It resulted in $5,800.00 front-end damage to my vehicle.

Vehicle Information Year: 2024 Make: Ford Model: Edge VIN: [XXX] Description of the Safety Issue I am submitting this complaint regarding the unexpected failure of the panoramic glass roof on my 2024 Ford Edge. The vehicle was parked in my residential driveway. As I began backing out of the driveway, I heard a very loud explosion or bang. I immediately stopped and inspected the vehicle. I discovered that the panoramic glass roof had shattered outward. There had been no collision, no rollover, no object striking the vehicle, and no severe weather. The vehicle had simply been sitting in my driveway before I began backing out. The interior sunshade was closed at the time of the incident. After the glass shattered, a substantial amount of broken glass remained on top of the closed sunshade and around the roof opening. I also observed that there was essentially no broken glass in my driveway, which suggests the glass failed from within the panel rather than from an external impact. This sudden failure occurred without warning and created a significant safety concern. Had this happened while I was driving at highway speeds with passengers in the vehicle or with the sunshade open, the results could have been much more dangerous due to falling glass and the driver's distraction. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this incident to determine whether similar failures are occurring in 2024 Ford Edge vehicles and whether this represents a potential safety defect involving panoramic sunroofs. STEERING
Travelling on the expressway I received a warning on my dash that my steering had failed along with other warnings. I lost the power steering and it was very hard to maneuver. I took it to a dealer that said it was electrical (software) and they had to reset it. Why???? My concern is it could have caused an accident if my wife was driving because she would not of been able to steer it. Or if I was in the middle of a turn or lane change. This is very concerning as I'm worried about a re occurrence.

My backup camera began malfunctioning in November 2025. Initially, the image became distorted, and shortly after, the screen went completely blank with a message instructing me to contact the dealership. I did so and was informed that my vehicle was not included in the recall and that I would be responsible for the repair costs out of pocket. I referenced the 15-year rearview camera extended warranty that applies to non-recalled vehicles. The dealership stated they were unaware of this warranty. As a result, I contacted Ford directly and opened a case with the Automotive Safety Office in November 2025. Today, I followed up with Ford to check on the status of my case and was told there has been no update. I was also informed that because there is no CSP number associated with the 15-year extended warranty for Edge models that are not actively recalled, Ford cannot take any action. I was essentially told that the warranty “does not exist,” despite the fact that it has been widely reported by major news outlets and automotive publications. I was further told that if my vehicle were currently at a dealership, they might be able to help, but since it is not, they cannot do anything. Ford also stated that while the issue could potentially be recalled in the future, there is no action they are willing to take at this time. This is a known Ford defect, and despite extensive documentation and public acknowledgment of the issue, Ford is refusing to repair it.

On [XXX], while driving from Delaware to Massachusetts in her 2024 Ford Edge (purchased new in April 2024, now with roughly 19,800 miles on the odometer) on [XXX] in New Jersey, my wife experienced the cloth-panel shade of the "Panoramic Vista Roof" fall onto her. Obviously, this was a complete surprise and very dangerous to her in the control of the vehicle. She stated that about a week prior to the collapse of the shade, there had been some rattling coming from an undetermined area in the car. The Massachusetts Ford Dealer (Balise Ford - Wilbraham, MA) she brought the vehicle to stated the sunroof falling in was "not the result of a material defect." The dealership replaced the roof opening panel at a cost to us of $1120.00. The defective part was not obtained from the dealer after repair.
