When backing into my parking spot the front driver side tire blew at the side wall. Then a few weeks late the Rear driver side tire started to bubble at the same spot and was showing signs that it was getting ready to blow. The first one was immediately replaced under Kumho's warranty and then the second one was replaced on my dime. I feel that the other 2 tires could blow at anytime as the car only has 2800 miles on it and has not been involved in any significant impact or accident.

Tire blew out at low speed near residential area on the tire sidewall in a square shape approximately 3inches wide and 3inches long on each side. The blown out square area is still attached from the outer tire area like an open flap. The sidewall failed four inches in from the outer edge and ripped open. These was an Arizonian Silver Edition, all-season tire with the markings of M+5 205 / 65R16 95H and DOT U93P XYT 2022

P205 65 R16 Blizzak tires were purchased in December 2023, online and I had them installed same week. I spoke to the employee who stated as long as I rotated the tires at 5,000 miles, I can drive them all year. I went to Discount tires on Saturday to have my tires checked since I was sliding in the rain. The employee told me my front tires were at a 1 and 2, while the back tires are at 9 and 10. She told me to talk to the front desk about the tires. I went in and asked about the warranty I had purchased. The employee told me it does not apply and that I would need to replace the tires. I explained to him that the car doesn't even have 5,000 miles on it since the purchase of the tires and how did the front wear so quickly? I only started using the car more in March. He also told me it could be the alignment. I had that fixed 2 years ago and the car doesnt pull left or right. He stated that the tires will bald if being driven in over 40 degree temps. I have in the past used winter tires all year and never experienced this. These tires never made it to 5,000 miles. They should not be worn so badly in the front, that this had now cause my back breaks to grind. Not only do I have to buy 4 new tires, since I can't keep the back on there, but I have to eventually get new back brakes, that aren't even 2 years old. These tires should not be on anyone's cars if they wear this quickly.

I own a 2019 Hyundai Sonata with an original manufacturer set of 205/65 R16 95H Kumho Solus TA31 tires on it. I noticed around a month ago that all 4 of the tires have cracks in between the treads, mostly on the outer and inner treads of the 4 tread areas. These cracks are all around and significant. I am afraid to drive on them. I have brought this defect to the attention of Kumho tires over the phone and to the dealership I bought my car from. There is approximately 34,000 miles currently on my car. These tires are supposed to rated for 60,000 miles. They are trying to tell me that they will not warranty their tires with ozone or weather cracking over 4 years old from the date of the tire manufacture stamped on the tire. I believe this is not weather related. I believe it is a defect in the tire and they are trying to blame weather. Even if the problem is what they call "weather" related that should not preclude a consumer/purchaser of a vehicle with their tires on it from pursuing a claim. Their tires should be able to withstand any "weather" and if not they should inform consumers as such. This is a "safety" issue and should NOT be taken lightly. I would like the NHTSA to investigate this issue further. Thank you.

the Kumho 205/65 R16 treads are losing chucks of rubber on 3 tires with just under 17000 miles as of this date 7/24/23 and under 6 years old. ( their warranty states 60K or 6 yrs) Kumho will not warrant the tires in any way shape or form. Have tried to get some help from them since Jan of this year (2023) with no results. Also the service dept at the dealership tried to get me help but was not successful. Even after taking many pictures and information and sending them to Kumho. No help.

car began to pull like out of align but upon inspection by tire repair shop it was discovered that the tread was separating on all 4 tires. had 2 replaced at the time. After a few hundred miles the other 2 tires failed in the rear causing the car to shake violently. The contact stated when she approached the vehicle in the morning, the front driver’s side tire was flat. The contact stated she called roadside assistance who replaced the tire with the spear tire. The contact took the vehicle to the tire shop and the contact was informed that there was no failure found with the front driver’s or passenger’s side tires. The contact continued to experience the failure. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 16T017000 (Tires); however, the VIN was not included. The contact attempted to call the manufacturer but has not been able to speak with a representative. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

The contact owns a 2018 Hyundai Sonata equipped with Hankook Tires, Tire Line: Kinergy ST, Tire Size: 205/65/R16, DOT Number: (N/A). The contact stated that three of the four tires had failed. While the vehicle was in for a Vehicle State Inspection, it was discovered that the rear passenger’s side tire was deformed and wobbly which cause the vehicle to fail the inspection. Additionally, while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle started shaking violently. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and stopped the vehicle. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the rear driver’s side tire had experienced a blowout. Additionally, the third tire was discovered to be deformed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The tire dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.

215/55 R 17 My right rear tire has been losing air for at least 6 months. My tire pressure light is constantly on. I had my tire inspected and was told all 4 tires are compromised. The mechanic told me that my tires were wavy??? and that the tread inside my tires were damaged and I needed to replace all 4 tires. He also said my car would not pass inspection because of this defect in the tires. I feel my safety is at risk because of the inconsistent pressure that the tires may blow at any time.

I purchased (4 tires) 205/65R16 Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 for my vehicle in January 2019. In the past few months I’ve noticed a constant rumbling noise from the rear while driving. I have had my vehicle serviced for an inspection and oil change. Each time I received no recommendations during the multipoint inspections related to my tires. The last time I took it in I mentioned that I planned to purchase new tires and the mechanic looked at me strangely. He measured that my tire thread were at a 6 and he could not see any visible defects. Once the tires were rotated the noise moved from the back to the front. There is clearly a defect with the tire and it is out of warranty to be replaced.

WHEN REMOVING A FLAT TIRE, I NOTICED THAT SMALL CHUNKS OF RUBBER WERE COMING OFF OF THE TIRE. I THEN CHECKED THE OTHER THREE TIRES & FOUND THE SAME PROBLEM. SOME OF THOSE RUBBER CHUNKS COMING OFF WERE ALONG THE EDGES & SOME WERE IN THE CENTRAL PART OF THE TIRES. I CALLED THE MANUFACTURER & WAS REFERRED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, KAUFFMAN TIRES IN THIS CARE. THEY CLAIMED THAT THIS IS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE SO THEY STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE EXCEPT TO SELL ME NEW TIRES & OTHER CAR SERVICES. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THIS IS ABNORMAL FOR TIRES TO BE FAILING AFTER ONLY APPROXIMATELY 27,000 MILES. SINCE I'M CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY, I WILL BE REPLACING ALL FOUR TIRES BUT NOT WITH KUMHO TIRES. I CERTAINLY NEVER BUY THAT BRAND OF TIRE &, WILL CHECK TO SEE WHAT BRAND OF TIRES ARE ON ANY CAR THAT I WILL BUY IN THE FUTURE TO BE SURE THAT THEY AREN'T KUMHO TIRES
