Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, and 2022-2023 F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, and F-600 SD vehicles. The windshield wiper arms may break, causing the wipers to fail.

Risk: Windshield wiper failure can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2022 F-Super Duty F250, F350, F450, F550, 2021-2022 F600, and 2022 F750 vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 24V957. Biodiesel deposits may form on the pump drivetrain roller components, which could lead to failure of the high pressure fuel pump.

Risk: High pressure fuel pump failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2026 F-150, 2022-2026 F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, Maverick, 2024-2026 Ranger, 2023-2026 F-600 SD, 2022-2027 Lincoln Navigator, Expedition, and 2026 E-Transit vehicles. When towing a trailer, the integrated trailer module (ITRM) may lose communication with the vehicle, possibly causing a loss of brake and turn signal lights, or a loss of brake function. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, " Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Risk: Trailer lights or brakes that do not function can reduce the driver’s ability to control the trailer and decrease the trailers visibility to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash.

The moonroof wind deflector clips may be inadequately attached to the moonroof frame, which can result in the wind deflector detaching from the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-350. The contact stated that while stopped at a traffic signal with his foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle suddenly accelerated as if he had applied the accelerator. The contact stated that his vehicle front end crashed into the rear end of the vehicle. The contact stated that he turned the vehicle off to stop it from continuing to gain forward momentum. The contact stated that he was able to restart the vehicle and pulled over. The contact stated that his lower front bumper was dented and had scratches. The contact stated that the vehicle he had crashed into had damage to the tail gate and rear bumper. The contact stated that no one was injured and both vehicles were able to drive away. The police were not called. The contact stated that prior to the crash the vehicle was having multiple electrical failures and numerous warning lights had illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be rebuilt. The vehicle repaired, however the contact stated that he was still having warning lights and that the vehicle was shifting roughly from park (P) to drive (D) or from park (P) to reverse (R). Additionally, the contact stated that the accelerator pedal was failing to respond when he applied the pedal. ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-350 SD. The contact stated that while driving approximately 40 MPH and pulling a trailer, the parking warning alert suddenly displayed on the dashboard, and moments later, a flashing check engine light was activated. While driving to the side of the road to park, smoke and flames began to come from under the passenger side of the front hood of the vehicle. The occupants immediately exited the vehicle, and the vehicle was engulfed in flames. The fire department was called to the scene and extinguished the flames. During the incident, the vehicle was completely destroyed, and the trailer had sustained severe fire damage to the front end. A police report was taken at the scene, and both the vehicle and trailer were towed away. No injuries were reported, but both the driver and passenger were severely stressed mentally from the incident. The cause of the failure has not yet been determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the incident. The failure mileage was 30,051.

STRUCTURE:BODY

The tailgate for my 2022 F-350 has opened while towing several times over the last two months. During one of these instances, the open tailgate struck and damaged my fifth wheel recreational vehicle (RV) trailer during a low speed left hand turn. The area where the tailgate hit our trailer is the battery compartment for our RV. If this where to happen at a high speed it has the potential to cause additional significant damage to a trailer and potentially cause consequential accidents while the vehicle is in motion. There was an open Customer Satisfaction Program opened by Ford associated with this issue and my vehicle's VIN (campaign # 21M05) in May 2022. Due to this alert, we brought our vehicle into a dealer in June 2022 (before towing our RV) and asked them to address this issue. At the time the Ford dealer declined to address the issue because there wasn't "a problem yet." The damage incident then happened and we brought our vehicle into a second Ford dealer (we were then living in our RV on the road so unable to return to our original dealer). They agreed (in writing) that there was an unintended tailgate opening while we were towing that caused damage, however they indicated that they didn't have an approved repair procedure from Ford at that time. We recently found out that Ford has since approved a procedure (on approximately 7/22/2022) and again brought our Ford into a third Ford dealer for repairs (8/11/2022). Ford is willing to fix the damage to the vehicle associated with this accident, however, they have been unresponsive regarding the consequential damages to our fifth wheel RV (bay door needs to be replaced with an estimated cost of more than $1,000). The fact that this keeps happening and that the tailgate is able to open while towing / while the vehicle is in drive is a massive issue. What if this happened while carrying a load on the highway? The contact stated that while in reverse(R) on several occasions, the rear-view camera was black. The contact stated that on one occasion while his wife was driving the vehicle and shifted into reverse(R), the camera went black, and the vehicle reversed into a cement pole. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the vehicle was not diagnosed; however, the contact was informed that the part to repair the vehicle was not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.

While traveling with my fifth-wheel camper attached, my 2022 Ford F-350 Super Duty (6.7L Power Stroke) suddenly developed a complete no-crank condition. Prior to the failure, the vehicle displayed multiple electrical warnings, including U0100 (Lost Communication with PCM), High Engine Temperature, AdvanceTrac, Blind Spot System Fault, Hill Start Assist, and Pre-Collision Assist warnings. The vehicle ultimately became disabled and would not crank or start, leaving me stranded away from home while towing a trailer. Repair Description After troubleshooting the vehicle, I discovered severe internal corrosion inside the under-hood Battery Junction Box (BJB). The corrosion appeared consistent with Ford Technical Service Bulletin 23-2133 regarding moisture intrusion into the Battery Junction Box on certain 2020–2022 Super Duty trucks. I purchased a genuine Ford replacement Battery Junction Box from a Ford dealership and installed it. Immediately after replacement, the vehicle started normally and all warning messages disappeared. I retained the failed Battery Junction Box and have photographs documenting the internal corrosion. Safety Concern My concern is not simply the repair cost but the safety implications of this failure. The vehicle became completely disabled while towing a fifth-wheel trailer during travel. A sudden electrical failure affecting the Battery Junction Box can leave occupants stranded and may create hazardous situations if it occurs in remote locations or during travel. Because Ford has issued a Technical Service Bulletin addressing moisture intrusion into the Battery Junction Box, I believe this condition should be evaluated to determine whether additional action is warranted.

When the vehicle is moving forward, and rear camera is selected to visibly confirm the status of anything behind the vehicle, there is a giant black bar/box that states "full view not available" Clearly this is a safety hazard in the sense that I am unable to rapidly assess and determine the status of anything behind my vehicle, be it a trailer, a hitch mounted bike rack, or another vehicle. Ford should be required to remove all of these distractions from their software immediately.

Thankfully while traveling at midnight the head lights and tail lights remain on, just no interior lights during these Reboots. New batteries made no difference.

POWER TRAIN

While flat towing my 2022 Ford F‑350 behind a motorhome using Ford’s Neutral Tow Mode procedure, the vehicle suffered a catastrophic transmission failure. The Ford dealer documented this clearly on the service invoice: “HAPPENED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS FLAT TOWED.” After the tow, the truck had severe slipping, delayed engagement, high RPM with no movement, and a wrench light. The dealer confirmed fault codes P0741, P1744, and P27B4. The dealer found catastrophic internal damage: “fluid is burnt with metal debris… filter is packed with metal debris… torque converter has came apart and filled transmission with metal debris… it is catastrophic failure.” These components are available for inspection. The dealer also documented a low battery condition: “batteries. low state of charge.” Ford’s Neutral Tow Mode relies on electronic control modules that require stable voltage, but Ford provides no warning that low voltage can cause the transfer case to exit Neutral Tow Mode. This creates a safety risk because the transmission can be rotated internally without lubrication while being towed, which can lead to sudden drivetrain lockup or loss of control. The problem was confirmed by the Ford dealer, and the vehicle was fully inspected by them. The only warning symptom occurred after towing: wrench light, slipping, and no movement. There were no warnings during the tow itself. This failure mode is not disclosed by Ford and cannot be detected or prevented by the owner.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS

The right rear corner parking sensor on the truck has a 3 foot range. I believe these rear back up sensors normally should have a 12-15 foot range. I was backing up at an angle at slow speeds at hit a large brick mailbox. The mailbox is below the height of the closed tailgate. This could have been a adult or child. The sensor triggered but I did not stop in time. At 5mph a 3 foot distance is covered in .4 seconds. I replaced the bumper and the bumper cover as a result of this .

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

This is not a failed component, the issue is a design interaction issue. This truck when it gets stuck as it unfortunately very easily does even on wet grass goes into a traction control mode where the throttle is VERY damped but the issue is not only is the opening very dampened the closing is also VERY damped. This is made significantly worse by the fact that traction control cannot actually be disabled. There is a switch and it indicates it is disabled but the functionality remains the same. This combination means whenever you're working to get the truck unstuck, like yesterday when it was on wet grass you have to expect that the vehicle will suddenly accelerate as soon as it finds traction. normally you can counteract this by expecting to apply significant brakes as soon as it finds traction but if the front wheels are still on a slippery surface the ABS system will lose it's mind and essentially disable brakes as the vehicle accelerates violently backwards with the new found traction. This combination of software decisions makes it so you can very easily replicate an unintended acceleration scenario where the vehicle jumps back a solid 20' when this happens, not respecting any brake input given by the driver and certainly not respecting that the throttle was released long ago. The throttle closing should not be damped when traction control is running and the ABS system should not be behaving the way it does. I understand getting the vehicle unstuck from wet grass is not normal operation but that's what the traction control disable button should be for and Ford makes that button useless also. When taken together, all these engineering decisions make for a very unsafe situation that has zero reason to exist. I've attached pictures that show the overview of the situation as well as the characteristic ABS marks showing that it was disabling brakes.

2022 F350 SRW, King Ranch, Tremor Steering column began making clunking sound when hitting rough patches on highway. I then noticed that I was able to lift the steering wheel an inch or two up and also pull it towards me two to three inches and freely push it back in. Front facing camera, located in front grill, has inadequate water proofing, which eventually shorts out the camera and causing it to become inoperable. This creates a blind spot when backing up or driving in tight spaces with such a large truck. When the front camera blacks out, you lose visibility in front of the vehicle. This is a safety issue, because the size of the truck, how high it sits from the factory, and no visibility over the hood could cause a collision with low height persons or kids or property. Yes, this issue has been reproduced by the dealer. And there are numerous reports of people on message forums and social media complaining of this issue. There were no warnings of this prior to failure. One day the front facing camera simply stopped working, leaving a black screen for any camera views that include the front camera.
