The driver-side frontal airbag/restraint system may have failed to operate during a collision involving a significant impact to the front driver’s side of my 2026 Honda CR-V. The vehicle was declared a total loss, but the driver’s airbag did not deploy. The seat belt locked and appeared to function properly. The insurance company has already taken possession of the vehicle, so its present availability for inspection is UNKNOWN. My safety was put at risk because the driver’s airbag did not provide additional protection during the impact. Following the accident, I experienced a concussion, dizziness/vertigo, and neck, shoulder, and back pain. The issue has not been reproduced or formally confirmed by a Honda dealer or an independent service center. I notified Honda that the airbag did not deploy, but Honda did not inspect the vehicle. No police officer, insurance representative, collision center, or other qualified person gave me an explanation or confirmed whether the airbag should have deployed. The vehicle was inspected by insurance representatives for the total-loss claim, but, to my knowledge, the airbag system itself was not specifically inspected. Whether any airbag or SRS warning lamp or message appeared before the collision is UNKNOWN. I do not recall receiving an airbag warning before the accident. The exact cause of the non-deployment is UNKNOWN and requires inspection of the vehicle, crash data, sensors, and airbag control system.

On March 30, 2026, a safety issue was documented regarding a 2018 Honda CR-V currently located at Crash Champions collision center. The driver-side steering wheel airbag module is entirely missing from the vehicle due to a physical loss/theft, rendering the supplemental restraint system (SRS) completely non-functional and leaving the vehicle unrepairable due to an indefinite OEM manufacturer backorder. Operating this vehicle without a primary steering wheel airbag leaves the driver completely unprotected by safety restraints in a frontal collision, posing an immediate, life-threatening hazard. This critical safety issue, along with the total lack of replacement part availability, has been officially confirmed and documented by Crash Champions, where the vehicle has been grounded for three consecutive months. Additionally, a State Farm insurance representative has physically inspected the vehicle and opened formal comprehensive repair claim #[XXX]. There were no warning lamps or symptoms prior to the incident, as this represents a total physical loss of the component; however, the dashboard SRS/Airbag warning light is now actively illuminated due to the missing module. Widespread manufacturer supply-chain backorders on these critical safety components prevent the vehicle from being returned to a crashworthy condition, leaving it indefinitely inoperable from a safety standpoint. Front passenger airbag light is on and I have been told it is the sensor. This has been recalled on other 2016 CRVs. I think more cars may be affected than those that are recalled.

1. Sometimes when my wife get in the passenger seat the airbag sensor light stays on indicating the the airbag is off. 2. Often when driving with adaptive cruise control on, the car suddenly brakes hard without cause . Sometime when a car in front of me turns right and sometimes if I pass a car parked on the street it will also brake hard for no reason.

I have been waiting for an airbag for my 2018 Honda CRV since November 2025. I have made contact with Honda Motors US Corporate offices 2 months ago and they are failing to give me an estimate as to when my airbag will be sent to my dealership in Chicago. They can not give me any concrete information as to when the part is even going to be manufactured. For the last 3 weeks they have given me zero concrete information. They are not providing me with a loaner car. My car has been unusable for over 6 months which is and the customer service representative suggested that I operate the car without an air bag.

Driver side door lock was broken. Car was broken into. Airbag (on steering wheel) was stolen. I am not sure if the alarm went off. Caused “Airbag System (SRS) Problem” warning light on the dash. Car was still drivable. This was during the pandemic so there was a parts shortage. Needed to replace lock, airbag, and clock spring. Took 2 weeks.

Systematic safety opponent failure - passenger side air bag. It deployed into my daughter's face. I took it to Hayward Honda for repair. No police, no insurance as of yet. The dealership is claiming that the impact occurred in the undercarriage, but no report, no pictures, no EDR data provided. This was simply a spontaneous, non-impact, faulty airbag deployment. I was able to continue to drive my vehicle with no problems. They had suggested I file a claim with my insurance, but I requested the information. I want to report this, for they still have my vehicle with no resolution.

am filing a complaint regarding my Honda vehicle being inoperable for over 2 months due to an airbag replacement part being on national backorder after the airbag was stolen. This is a critical safety component and I have been unable to safely use my vehicle during this time. Honda has acknowledged the part is unavailable and my case was marked “urgent,” however I have received very limited communication and no meaningful resolution timeline. I have also been told rental assistance is not being covered, leaving me without reliable transportation for months because a required safety part cannot be obtained. I am concerned about the length of time these safety-related components are unavailable and the impact this has on consumers who cannot safely operate their vehicles. I am requesting review of this issue and Honda’s handling of extended airbag-related part backorders
