From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited. The rapid burning can cause the inflator to rupture during deployment, potentially causing serious or even fatal injury to vehicle occupants. Risk: A separated or severed seat belt buckle strap will result in an inoperable seat belt, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Risk: Failure of the air bag circuit may prevent the driver's frontal air bag from deploying in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured March 20, 2014, to April 22, 2014, and 2014 Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured March 21, 2014, to April 22, 2014. Due to a software error, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may fail to learn the locations of the individual sensors while the vehicle is being driven. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate, despite the the tire pressures being within specification. Should one of the tires lose air pressure, the driver would not be notified of the change in air pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
Risk: If the TPMS light illuminates because the sensors cannot be located, it could mask an actual low tire pressure condition, possibly resulting in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.

Airbag
Issue: On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, may eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger-front airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. If the airbag inflator ruptures, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants or cause damage to the airbag assembly, preventing its proper function. Safety Risk: If the vehicle is involved in a crash requiring an airbag deployment, the airbag inflator could rupture and create a risk of injury. Corrective Action: Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to have the passenger-front airbag inflator replaced. Note: The Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. This recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk. It is expected that all airbag inflators will be replaced before their function would be affected.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while stopped at a red light, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact's vehicle was rear-ended. The contact's wife, who was the other occupant of the vehicle, was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle. The contact's wife sustained a dislocated left hip. In addition, the contact's wife had previously had a left hip replacement and undergone four left hip surgeries. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. A police report was filed; however the information was unavailable. The contact stated that three months after the vehicle was purchased, the ABS, traction control, and several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a failed ABS module. The contact was informed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were on back order. The contact stated that the order was placed almost thirteen months ago. The contact stated that the vehicle was almost rear-ended two times recently. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 110,000.

Oil Filter Housing cracked. Oil pools on top of engine and under intake manifold. Oil runs down the right side of engine - taking out an oxygen sensor in the process as the wiring harness gets soaked in oil. Oil ran down onto transmission and exhaust manifolds creating odor and a lot of smoke - not to mention the oil all over my driveway and street. Evidently, this is a known problem to the manufacturer. It is reported hundreds of times on this site and thousands of times on various internet sites. Clearly there are manufacturing problems that are at fault and creating serious safety and economic impacts to owners. Research across various platforms indicates that it is not a matter of "if this will happen," but "when" it will happen. Where is the accountability to the manufacturer? Why is NHTSA NOT doing something to protect the consumer and the public?

Was in a car accident in which my jeep wrangler sport rolled twice and the front end is smashed. The car adjustors reviewed it as totalled out. The driver, I was the driver, airbags did not deploy. Have had this issue since I believe 2020 or 2021. Either way a long time. This issue concerns the ABS control module failure. The warning lights (Brake, ABS and traction control) are lit showing unavailable / issue. The computer is throwing code C2200. The parts to repair are not available. Online forums show this is a big issue within the Jeep Wrangler community. It has been reported that Internally, Jeep has acknowledged the issue by placing new inventory on an "engineering review" hold after admitting that a massive batch of newly manufactured replacement parts had fatal software flaws.

XXX lights on dash for abs, brakes, traction came on upon commuting home from [XXX] to [XXX]. I went to Honda Fredericksburg and diagnosis was C2200 failed and the part was on back order. Returned to SC and followed up with Jeep and local automotive services and part back order but able to drive without replacement and still awaiting product. XXX engine light on in addition to the continual abs, brake, traction lights as well as vehicle going into limp mode. Took it immediately to local automotive services shop and received ABS control Module failure is now sending error to other sensors to put Jeep in limp mode and inoperable. OEM Part still on back order and unable to obtain from Jeep. I contacted Mt. Pleasant Jeep dealership service department as well and unable to get the part. No part available and unknown timeframe which leaves me to garage the Jeep while waiting for a new part to become available. ABS control module has failed causing the ABS system and the traction control to fail. I have no antilock brakes now. I have had issues with braking multiple times, especially in loose traction. ABS Module failure with no replacement available. Unit available for inspection. Vehicle can not be safely driven. Doesn't brake properly and not reliable on wet roads. Speed control non functional. Vehicle has been at dealer for months. Vehicle has been inspected by insurance and Jeep dealership. Multiple warning lamps are lit. First appeared after accident. ABS module replacements are not available per dealer.
