FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL

In June 2026 the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe power shut down along with service engine light in two seperate instances while my son was driving at highway speed. I made the dealership aware and had the vehichle checked out. They said nothing wrong with vehichle. On July 25 2026 I was driving vehichle on highway and cruise control came on by itself along with service engine light. I had no power to accelerate. I had to pull over and shut car down before proceeding. I brought the vehichle to Paul Bailey dealership and they grounded the car on 8/7/2026 when Stellantis agreed to pay for a rental car.

2012 Jeep Wrangler Angleton, TX

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

The abs module on many of these vehicles has a known fault. You can’t find replacement parts, even the Jeep dealership can’t get them. Many ppl are driving around with faulty modules, on a waiting list for parts. I’m one of those people. All has been fine until I was driving toward 228 business in Angleton to turn towards Walmart. I was going about 45-48 and went to brake to slow down for the stop sign. My brakes were soft instead of firm and it locked up and skid on me. I didn’t hit anything but had someone been behind me it could have been different. It scared me. Now I’m scared to drive it and have no fix for it.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

Change the ending so it is completely accurate: The electric power-steering assistance and electrical/instrument-panel systems have repeatedly malfunctioned. Power-steering assistance failed while I was driving on August 3, 2026, and again on August 8, 2026. Each time, the steering suddenly became extremely difficult. I struggled to maintain control and pull over safely without being struck or causing a collision. This placed me, my passengers, and other motorists at serious risk. The Jeep also displays numerous warning lamps and messages, the instrument cluster and odometer malfunction, the radio loses sound, and reverse sometimes will not engage. Multiple electrical systems can malfunction simultaneously. Five people have witnessed these problems. Electrical symptoms existed when I purchased the Jeep in May 2024. Federico Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram inspected it in July 2024 at 44,780 miles. The dealer documented a disappearing odometer, multiple warning lights, failure to start, required jump-starts, and inability to turn the vehicle off. Federico diagnosed an internal instrument-cluster failure and replaced the cluster. Similar problems continued intermittently afterward and became substantially worse beginning July 11, 2026. Federico recently reviewed my video. A technician considered a possible wiring problem, but the dealership requires a paid diagnostic before confirming the cause. The current failure has not been physically diagnosed. Mopar received my report and video but has not inspected the Jeep or provided a technical determination. Police, insurance representatives, and independent shops have not inspected it. The Jeep has fewer than 65,000 miles and is available for inspection upon request. I limit driving as much as possible because I believe it is unsafe, but I have no other vehicle and must occasionally drive it for essential transportation.

2015 Jeep Wrangler New Windsor, MD

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

I was driving our 2015 Jeep Wrangler on the highway probably going around 60MPH and had a deer run in front of her and had to brake suddenly. The jeep skidded and fish taled slightly before coming to a complete stop and I avoided hitting the deer. The ABS system did not work. Ironically, the ABS and Traction Control lights had come on occasionally but would then go off. It's hit or miss whether these lights come on when you start the vehicle. We took the jeep to Barnes Automotive in Westminster Maryland and they diagnosed that the ABS module (Part 68259556AE) was bad and needed to be replaced. They said they tested it by clearing the error, but then after driving it around town, the error would appear again. They informed me that there is a national shortage of the part and they estimated there is a 90 day backorder. I can't wait 3 months to not drive the vehicle so they let me know just to be aware the vehicle will be ok to drive but to know that it doesn't have ABS if I need to make any sudden stops. Sounds like a very common issue with Jeep Wranglers.

2014 Jeep Wrangler Mt. Pleasant, SC

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

XXX lights on dash for abs, brakes, traction came on upon commuting home from [XXX] to [XXX]. I went to Honda Fredericksburg and diagnosis was C2200 failed and the part was on back order. Returned to SC and followed up with Jeep and local automotive services and part back order but able to drive without replacement and still awaiting product. XXX engine light on in addition to the continual abs, brake, traction lights as well as vehicle going into limp mode. Took it immediately to local automotive services shop and received ABS control Module failure is now sending error to other sensors to put Jeep in limp mode and inoperable. OEM Part still on back order and unable to obtain from Jeep. I contacted Mt. Pleasant Jeep dealership service department as well and unable to get the part. No part available and unknown timeframe which leaves me to garage the Jeep while waiting for a new part to become available. 2025 Jeep Wrangler Belmont, NC Crash

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS

On June 1, 2026, software update 68C was performed at the dealership on my 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. On June 6, 2026, at approximately 9:00 a.m., after driving the vehicle for about 25 minutes, I experienced a serious malfunction. While making a turn at a speed of less than 10 mph, the vehicle suddenly and without warning lost throttle and propulsion. It appeared to hesitate as though shifting between electric and gasoline power, and then abruptly and erratically lurched forward, accelerating to what felt like maximum speed. The Jeep struck a chain-link fence, which slowed its movement, but it continued to surge forward. I applied the brakes and attempted to maintain control of the vehicle, but it kept lurching ahead. At no point did the vehicle emit a safety warning, sound an alert, or attempt to stop automatically, even though it normally responds to obstacles when operating properly. I repeatedly attempted to place the vehicle in reverse, but it did not respond. I turned the engine off and back on several times, and only after more than three attempts did the vehicle finally recognize reverse, allowing me to back away from the fence. A man in a truck assisted me and contacted the police. Both the responding police officer and the assisting individual expressed concern about the potential danger, particularly because the vehicle is a 4xe. I am now extremely hesitant and fearful to operate or move the vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection and has not been inspected yet by dealership or insurance. I have it parked outside of my residence.

2023 Jeep Wrangler Garden City, ID

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS

The vehicle experienced a sudden, catastrophic, un-commanded emergency braking event while moving in active traffic.Despite the driver's seatbelt being securely buckled, the vehicle overrode its own safety programming, dropping all propulsion, violently engaging the electronic brakes, and forcing the transmission straight into Park at low speeds at an intersection. This occurred immediately after the vehicle received an official factory high-voltage hybrid safety recall remedy last month. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership, where a diagnostic scan logged a false 'Door Ajar / AutoPark' fault code. The safety system critically malfunctioned by ignoring a buckled seatbelt to execute a dangerous emergency stop in traffic. The vehicle is completely unsafe to operate on public roads due to an unpredictable brake and powertrain safety override defect. The manufacturer is currently refusing to provide direct-bill rental assistance while the vehicle sits undiagnosed on the dealer lot.

Just like many other people have wrote about, the ABS SENSOR is defective. The ABS light comes and the traction light does also. Jeep has been aware of the problem for 18 months to 2 years. There is no fix or replacement sensor in sight.

2021 Jeep Wrangler Williamstown, NJ

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING

My 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon (3.6L eTorque, automatic transmission) has had recurring drivetrain instability since about 2,000 miles while under factory warranty. It intermittently has high RPM flare during acceleration, delayed shifting, shuddering under load, and abrupt engagement. At low speeds (about 10–5 mph), it harshly downshifts, grabs suddenly, RPMs jump up and down, and it can feel like it will stall; it has stalled intermittently. Braking feels inconsistent, and at times it feels like the vehicle resists braking or surges before slowing. The forward collision warning/automatic emergency braking has activated with no obstacle present, and the power steering assist has been lost intermittently. There is also an engine tick and a high-pitched whining noise from the engine/drivetrain area. In January 2026, the transmission catastrophically failed and required replacement of the transmission, torque converter, cooler, and control module. The vehicle was out of service for over 24 days. After installation of a new Mopar remanufactured transmission and torque converter, the same symptoms returned. AAMCO has now found that the new torque converter failed, with metal shavings throughout the transmission, in the fluid, and at the bottom of the pan. I was advised that the vehicle should be sent to a Jeep dealership because no codes are currently present. I was also advised that the dealership may replace only the torque converter rather than the entire transmission, despite recurring failure and metal contamination. This presents a safety concern due to loss of acceleration, unpredictable torque engagement, stalling, unintended braking activation, power steering loss, engine/drivetrain noise, and repeated drivetrain failure. I have all the records if requested, file is too large to send in the upload area.
