Description of Incident: Immediately after purchasing this 2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid brand-new at an authorized Honda dealership in Maryland, the driver’s seat frame exhibited abnormal mechanical play. The seat shifts and rocks forward and backward during standard acceleration, braking, and turning maneuvers. The issue was brought to the selling/servicing Honda dealership in Maryland shortly after delivery while under factory warranty. However, dealership service staff refused to repair or replace the frame assembly, claiming the play was within normal specifications. The defect has persisted throughout the vehicle's operation. Safety Risk: The failure of the seat structure to remain rigidly locked in place compromises the integrity of the vehicle’s primary driver restraint system. Unintended seat shifting during sudden stops, sharp turns, or a collision alters driver posture, increases driver distraction, and potentially impacts the proper alignment of the seatbelt and airbag deployment zones. Confirmation & Inspection History: Reproduced/Confirmed: Yes, the physical shifting occurs continuously during operation and was directly presented to the servicing Honda dealership. Inspected By: Authorized Honda dealership service personnel in [XXX]. Symptoms & First Appearance: Mechanical rocking and play present from the day of purchase at 0 miles. No electronic warning lights or messages. Honda Automobile Customer Service Case #XXX INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My front passenger seat weight sensor is faulty and shows as "OFF" when a large passenger is in the seat. An independent service center has scanned and confirmed the faulty sensor. I see CRV recalls for both the sensors and airbags, but my VIN does not return a result.

The drivers seat causes pain in my lower back. The longer I drive, the worse it gets. I have tried every seat adjustment and lumbar support that the seat comes with, and nothing helps. I am unable to drive long distances in this car and it would be unsafe because the pain might provoke me to drive too fast or hit one of the pedals by mistake in an effort to get comfortable in the seat. This defect should be corrected.

After seeing the IIHS report on this 2024 Honda CRV rear seat safety issue shown in the crash test where the rear seat is deforming during offset crash I wanted to see if the NHTSA was going to investigate this issue further and request that Honda address this obvious safety issue. It would seem the rear seat is not constructed well or maybe the seat bracket is not strong enough for a good crash result and needs to be recalled. Please look into this matter please. Thank you. https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/honda/cr-v/2024?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19779867573&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI97z8zPbJkAMV3yNECB0eOQIoEAAYASAAEgJ99PD_BwE

For some weeks, the driver’s heated seat began to heat to excessive temperatures without me turning on the seat warmer. The seat heating system intermittently reaches temperatures high enough to cause painful burn-type irritation to my back and buttocks. I have experienced repeated episodes where normal seat heating settings produced dangerously high heat. I returned the vehicle multiple times to Townsend Honda for diagnosis and repair (repair orders are on file with the dealer and with Honda corporate). Despite multiple service visits, the dealership has been unable to permanently resolve the overheating condition. On 09162025 and 09222025 repairs or diagnostics were attempted but the defect persists. Honda corporate has since opened Case #15869482 for further review but I have not heard from Honda corporate till now.

NHTSA Recall Number -24V-064 - In the event of an accident front passenger frontal and knee airbags deployment. Safety Risk. I contacted Honda to resolve this issue yet I am unable to do so I was informed that to date no replacements parts are available to resolve this safety issue. They were unable to to provide a date for delivery of the replacement parts. I am following the safety precautions as I do not want an injury to occur in my vehicle. Is there a timeframe for the Honda to resolve this safety issue?

I received a notice in March 2024 regarding a recall for my 20 CRV involving a Seat Weight Sensor Circuit Board. I contacted my local Honda Dealer, Serra ,Honda Grand Blanc, Michigan to inquire about obtaining a time to service the recall. I was told at that time that they did not have the parts available and to call back in the fall to schedule. I spoke to the same dealership on September 27, 2024 and was told that they did not have the parts and had no idea when they would arrive. They continued to state Honda offers vague communication on when the parts will be available. This is unacceptable and is a definite safety issue.

2017 Honda CRV, mileage on 1 Dec 2023 (44498).The passenger air bag warning light fails to to 'OFF' when a 112 pound person sits on the front seat. Auto dealer inspected the device on Dec 1, 2023 and re-initialized the seat weight sensor to factory parameters and advised it now tests ok. During Jan - June 2024, the warning light began to operate improperly. Auto dealer inspected the system on August 24 and determined the passenger front seat weight sensor reading was inaccurate and advised the entire seat frame with weight sensors be replaced. Returned to the auto dealer on June 18 to have the entire seat and weight sensors replaced to correct the issue. Current Mileage: 48692 on June 24, 2024. Cost to customer: Parts & Labor: $1558.78 The vehicle is not covered by a factory warranty, however, it would seem that an issue with an air bag should be considered as a recall, since the only person using the car was the driver, since we had no confidence that the passenger air bag system would work if there was an incident that required it to be deployed. We have to use a second vehicle whenever we travel with more that one person in the car.

The passenger side seat weight sensor assembly failed. It is available for inspection. The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by a certified Honda dealer. The airbag light stayed on beginning in December 2023. The SRS warning light came on in March 2024. This defect was subject to a recall of CRV’s manufactured from 2020 to 2022. We believe the 2019 vehicles were affected also and should have been part of the recall. Honda has recognized this problem and has reimbursed us $800 of the $1758.68 of the repair bill.

Drivers seat wobbles and feels unstable. Upon breaking you can feel the seat wobble. It was compared and inspected to another vehicle were same movement was detected based on the dealers service department. No other signs detected. The seat wobbling was detected and first felt 3 weeks after purchase.

Noticed one day that passenger seat had burn marks. Have smelt on occasion what seemed to be burning smells in the past. Don’t use the seat heater there since that was noticed. This is a danger.

I have 2017 Honda CRV. I observed that my driver sear cushion is deformed. I took my vehicle to Honda dealer they inspected and said my cushion is deformed and airbag is loose. I called honda and they said they will investigate the issue, they investigated the issue and came back with comments that seat frame is bent and due to vehicle is outside warranty they can’t repair it. I checked online and found that people reported same issue in 2017 and honda fixed those issues. see - [XXX] Now I feel many people like me would have same issue and possible that they even dont know that air bag is loose and I believe its a safety issue. I feel someone should investigate this matter. I found this site and thought of sharing this. I observed this distortion of foam cushion since I bought my car but never gave any attentions to take it to dealer for checkup. I deeply regret it and now I am worried that this loose airbag is a safety issue. I AM SURE THIS ISSUE IS WITH MANY HONDA CRV 2017 CARS AND DRIVERS EVEN DONT KNOW THAT AIR BAG IS LOOSE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE. when I was on the call with honda representative I felt helpless as they were like its your mistake , our dealer said its because of outside influence and we cant fix it. I bought this car as new and it was never in any kind of accident. THEY ARE NOT READY TO ACCEPT THAT IT’S A MANUFACTURING DEFECT. the lever on my back right seat will not release seat down. Needed to put a large item in my car and ended up having to tie it to the roof instead and drive very slowly on the interstate since my seat would not go down. did not feel safe and want to get this figured out asap since I am a furniture dealer. I popped the plastic "cap" off to see what is causing the issue... part of the white plastic piece of the upper lever has snapped off and that is causing the lever to not catch and seat not go down. I have not taken it anywhere yet as I can see what the problem is and believe those plastic parts are not sold separately so I suspect I need a whole new lever. There were zero warning signs or messages, lever just did not release starting a couple days ago. Thanks

My friend reached under the driver seat and felt a bolt under it. Turns out, it was one of the 4 bolts that holds the seats frame to the car. This was the right front bolt and it completely fell out! I checked the other 3 bolts still in, but the left front was also significantly loose! I had to get an Allen wrench and bolt them back in and tighten them! The passenger seat bolts were still in but also very loose! This is dangerous if I was in an accident my front seat bolts weren't tight and one was completely out, only holding the seat in 3 of 4 places!

Had my car inspected on Aug 5 everything was good and as I was driving down the road on Monday Aug 7 that afternoon and my airbag system (SRS) problem light came on we called the dealership on Tuesday morning and they said that we could drop it off and leave it on Wednesday and they would look at it when they got to it. So they called on Thursday and said it was u3000-49 internal failure of srs system also said found to be communication issue with the seat sensor which is made onto the frame and said the seat will have to be replaced If isn’t replaced and if I was to get in. Wreck the air bag or seat belt could not work properly and could result in someone getting hurt.
