The windshield on my 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe appears to have optical distortion that causes significant glare and visibility problems when driving in direct sunlight. The windshield is available for inspection upon request. The problem affects my ability to clearly see the roadway, traffic, and other vehicles when sunlight hits the windshield. The distortion creates a wavy or blurry appearance that can be distracting and reduces visibility, creating a potential safety hazard while driving. The condition has been reproduced and confirmed by me on multiple occasions. The vehicle was inspected by Hendrick Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Wilmington, North Carolina, but warranty coverage was denied. The windshield has not been involved in an accident and there are no warning lights, messages, or other vehicle symptoms associated with this issue. The problem appears to be related to the windshield glass itself rather than any electronic system. The issue has been present for an extended period of ownership and is most noticeable during sunny conditions when light strikes the windshield at certain angles. I am filing this complaint because the visibility distortion creates a safety concern and I believe the windshield may have a manufacturing defect.

2024 Wrangler RHD. After being parked overnight pushing the start button clicks once as if the battery is weak. A second push of the start button the Jeep starts normally. Also, the clock resets itself 4 hours ahead. The HVAC temperature resets itself to 72 degrees regardless of where it was when parked. When shifting into reverse the backup camera displays a blue screen. Dealership is going to ensure software is current and check the battery. This is an ongoing issue.

The contact stated that while opening the vehicle's rear swing gate, they noticed that the rear windshield defroster grid was completely burnt and melted, with a scorched power wire leading directly to the glass terminal. first incident rear defrost tab would come on and get so hot it was burning the rear glass. major fire risk burning the components, reported to dealer, dealer replaced glass and component, no warnings, owner reported "smelling something burning". fire fighter found burned glass and component which was then unplugged. 2nd- hub centric ring loose and causing noise rubbing inside of wheel. owner states dragging sound from left to right at low speeds and one incident of vehicle not able to turn to the right. dealer replaced new hub ring. no warning alerts, major safety concern in regular operation of vehicle while driving could cause catastrophic failure and/or death. 3rd and 4th reported to dealer Sep 29, 2025 that transmission does not want to shift and when accelerating it feels like it does not want to pull. dealer reported no problem found reported to dealer march 26th 2026 that when accelerating and letting off the gas the vehicle makes a grinding noise and will jerk and jump. Also when pressing gas an letting off it sounds like it tries shutting off. dealer kept vehicle for greater than 30 days. dealer replaced rear end due to bearing failure and metal contamination which led to axle seal and bearing replacement for also being contaminated, dealer had to drill holes to swap over relocation bracket to track bar to accommodate lift. major drive train failure safety defect possibly leading to a catastrophic failure and/or death. no warning alerts 5th vehicle was returned with in the same week for major oil leak on back tires still at dealer ship waiting repairs. no warning alerts

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds with Hybrid Mode activated, the vehicle shuddered abnormally. The driver and passenger side sunvisors have both failed. The piece that holds the visor in place is apparently plastic and breaks easily, causing the visor to malfunction. This sounds minor, but not in winter when the sun is low on the horizon and blinding to the driver. The first visor I replaced was in 2021 (on a 2020 jeep). You have to replace the entire assembly (not just the part). Both sides have failed repeatedly. After driving around for months with the visors bungee corded up, to keep them from hanging and flopping around, I have now had my mechanic install after market brackets. This is a well known problem among mechanics that work on newer Jeeps. This may sound minor, but I do feel its an accident waiting to happen when driving towards oncoming traffic when the sun is low. Note that this jeep is primarily driven on paved roads - it is not being driven repeatedly off road in crazy conditions.

The attachment for the rear defrost failed. The wiring for the rear defrost was poorly attached (bad glue?) to the back window. With the lack of trunk, jeeps end up with lots of moisture spraying onto the back window and freezing. This poor design causes a hazard by limiting visibility to solely the side mirrors.

The contact stated that after using the remote starter to start the vehicle, the front window defroster was activated, and approximately 10 minutes later, the contact discovered that the front windshield had developed a 5-inch crack in the center of the windshield. I am reporting a defect with the driver-side sun visor on my 2019 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. The sun visor mounting mechanism is faulty and has broken/detached during normal use. Component or System: Driver’s sun visor assembly (hinge/mounting bracket near top left of windshield). Description of the Problem: While driving, the driver’s sun visor became loose at the hinge where it connects to the plastic mounting near the top left corner of the windshield. The visor then detached completely and was left hanging by the electrical cord, obstructing my forward view and creating an immediate safety hazard. Safety Risk: The detached visor blocked my line of sight while driving and could easily cause a collision if it occurs at highway speeds or in traffic. Additionally, with the bracket broken, the visor can no longer be used to block sunlight, increasing the risk of glare and impaired visibility during sunrise or sunset. Inspection and Confirmation: The issue was verified by a Jeep dealership; however, they stated that there was no permanent repair available other than visor replacement. This occurred several years ago while the jeep was still under warranty. Availability for Inspection: The defective visor is available for inspection upon request. Reproduction of the Problem: Based on multiple online reports and discussions found on Google and Reddit, this appears to be a common occurrence among Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles, specifically involving the driver’s sun visor detaching or becoming loose at the hinge. There are multiple videos/pictures of people complaining and asking how to fix the loose/broken clips for visors. Something more reliable that the OEM as it keeps malfunctioning. Warning Lamps or Messages: No warning lamps or messages were displayed prior to the failure. The visor detached suddenly without any indication.

The contact owns a 2016 Jeep Wrangler. The contact recently replaced the windshield wiper motor due to a failure of the intermittent speed settings not functioning properly. The contact stated that after replacing the wiper motor, the contact was only able to use the wipers on the fast speed setting. An independent mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle was taken to the shop for repair, or he could replace the wiper blade switch on the steering column. The contact repaired the vehicle himself. The contact stated that after the repair was completed, while driving out of the driveway at approximately 2 MPH, the driver's side front air bag deployed. The contact followed the instructions to install the wiper blade switch carefully. The contact was still only able to use the wipers on the fast speed setting. The vehicle was not repaired. The instrument cluster has went completely out. There is a currently open recall for 2018 - 2024 Jeep Wranglers (Recall #24V-652), but my VIN is not included. According to FMVSS No. 571.101 (Controls and Displays), you are required to remedy this situation as it is now a safety and hazard for the driver.

A small rock hit my gorilla glass windshield putting a extremely small nick the size of the tip of a ball point pen. You can't even see the extremely small nick on a camera. But the windshield instantly cracked and continues to Crack from this tiny nick. Is has cracked over half the windshield and can be felt on the inside as well. Now I'm stuck paying a ton of money and my insurance rates going up monthly to replace a faulty windshield that mopar knows is faulty and there have been several complaints and even a lawsuit over the windshield.
