- My electronic power steering failed. - My steering wheel would lock and not allow the car to turn. - It has been confirmed by an independent service center. They are having to replace the computer module steering service and steering rack and pinion. - No, it has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance. - The 2 times that the steering wheel would lock up, there would be a warning light for "service AdvanceTrac". This happened twice where the steering wheel would not move while driving, both within 3 days.

While driving the HVAC stops working, radio locks at current setting (cannot turn volume up or down, etc.), screen goes blank or locks, windows do not open or close. Their are multiple warnings about sensors not working. Malfunctioning driver assist jerks wheel when driving through a restaraunt drive-thru. Had the sensor replaced for the adaptive cruise control and it did not correct the cruise issue. The issue initially started with the monitor screen going blank randomly and then progressing to the above issues. This had been happening for the last 2 or 3 years before the above accured.

Travelling on the expressway I received a warning on my dash that my steering had failed along with other warnings. I lost the power steering and it was very hard to maneuver. I took it to a dealer that said it was electrical (software) and they had to reset it. Why???? My concern is it could have caused an accident if my wife was driving because she would not of been able to steer it. Or if I was in the middle of a turn or lane change. This is very concerning as I'm worried about a re occurrence.

The contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 MPH, the message "Steering Fault - Service Now" was displayed. The vehicle was later parked at the residence, and the next day while starting the vehicle, the power steering malfunctioned, and the steering wheel was difficult to turn in either direction. Additionally, the ABS and traction control features were inoperable. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V250000 (STEERING). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 33,170.

and cause in your description. am writing to formally report a recurring and dangerous issue with my 2015 Ford Edge, which is currently driven by my 16-year-old daughter. Despite reporting this problem multiple times, it remains unresolved and poses a serious safety risk. The backup camera activates while driving at high speeds, distracting the driver and creating a hazardous situation. The steering becomes unusually tight, making it difficult to maneuver the vehicle safely, especially during lane changes or emergency corrections. These issues are not only persistent but occur while the vehicle is in motion at highway speeds, significantly increasing the risk of an accident. I have video documentation of the backup camera activating while driving, which I am willing to provide upon request.

My vehicle previously had recall work, including power steering, but now I’m experiencing: * ‘Steering Assist Required’ warning, and the electric power steering is intermittently failing * Traction control and hill assist turned off * Headlights (and other lights) staying on even when the car is off * The vehicle pulls sharply to the left when braking * Despite multiple alignments and suspension/tie rod replacements, my new tires are wearing out rapidly

while driving at slow and or highway speed limit, while turning to the rightor left, the steering wheel avts as if being hung up?catching onto something. it takes a little harder pull to release it out of the turn causing the vehicle at highway speeds to almost be uncontrollable. This in turn causes myself and others to be put in danger. While searching the internet for possible matches to my situation, I was able to find using AI that multiple other owners/drivers had similiar issues. The fix is either a sensor replacement, gear box replacement, software update or all three with costs ranging from 500-2500 in repairs. No warning lamps/messages/or other symptons have occcurred prior to the incidents. They began appearing a few days ago. It has not been inspected as of yet. I am making an appointment for next week and will further update.

Since the day I bought my 2013 Edge I have had nothing but problems ranging from Backup Camera always has a distorted image, appears upside down or it will just be blank. For the last year I have had my car looked at, changed everything that could possibly be changed to now my car can be going down the road running 55-60 MPH and the car will just shut down and flash random warnings on the dash but the scariest & most unsafe part is how the steering wheel locks up or I lose power steering making it hard to move or coast off the road to safety. At this point I don't know what else to do. Questions below are asking for dates but unfortunately there are so many dates that my car does this as it happens almost daily so I will put date for the last day I drove it. Right now it has been sitting at a mechanic's place for the last 3.5 weeks.

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at slower speeds, the vehicle hesitated while accelerating with the accelerator pedal depressed, and the vehicle to respond as needed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle was consuming an excessive amount of fuel, with an abnormal burning metal odor entering the cabin of the vehicle through the air vents. The contact scanned the vehicle with an OBD-2 scanner and retrieved error codes for the Power Control Module, Steering Column Control Module, and Power Train Control Module. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed; however, the cause of the failure was unknown because the contact had previously cleared the error codes twice. The contact related the failure to Manufacturer Recall: 24E10; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.

Last year, the 2.0 ecoboost had a coolant intrusion. After 2 times ford dealer talking with someone in company, the repacerd egr valve, egr cooler and finally had a long block motor installed. Then a little while later had to replace transmission, then the steering box. My extended warranty covered this but it ran out at the end of May. I think I should be compensated either by extended warranty or money. Any of those problems could have resulted in an accident. First took to Lynn layton ford in decatur, took back a couple of weeks and could not get to it, took to eddie pruitt ford in hartselle, where they took care of the problems.

The power steering suddenly stopped working while I was driving. The steering became extremely stiff and difficult to control. At one point, the power assist abruptly returned, causing the steering wheel to jerk, and I nearly hit a pedestrian. It was a frightening and extremely dangerous situation. Brought the car to my mechanic multiple times, but the issue kept coming back. After 3 times, I brought the car to the ford dealership/ford mechanics and they confirmed the issue with the power steering was the fault of the rack and pinion. There was no indication of an issue prior to the power steering going out, however, as the steering goes out the power steering alert comes up on the cars dashboard, as wall as the loss of traction power.

I have had issues with this car since a few months from me getting it. My rear camera wouldn't work half the time and sometimes turns the images upside down. My heat and cooling system started malfunctioning and the driver's side doesn't blow or temp the same as the passenger side. It has been like that at least 2 of the 4 years I have had this car and have taken it in multiple times and spent thousands of dollars to get it fixed and it is still not fixed and no one can seem to tell me the problem. My car also restarts itself and it won't turn off. A couple of months into getting the car, my car literally shut off while I was on the freeway and I had to pull over. Restart it. I took it in to Ford and they said it was fine. Throughout the last 4 years, my car has restart itself without me autostarting it! It is not a push start car! The engine won't turn off half the time when I take the key out or it turns off then restarts itself and it won't turn off. My car won't lock when it restarts itself. I have also taken my car in multiple times for the electrical system. Reading that there has been multiple complaints about a lot of the issues I am having with my car, not only is it a major safety hazard, but Ford should have done recalls. It is quite ridiculous that they haven't when they are aware of multiple cars having these same issues. I have almost caused several car accidents because of the electrical issues and I don't feel safe driving my vehicle. I shouldn't have to keep spending thousands of dollars and the issues aren't resolved or they keep saying they don't know. There is clearly a lot of faulty issues with the 2014 Ford Edge model and there needs some recalls that need to be issued. My car should not start slowing down automatically on the freeway then shut down. I have had to replace my battery and alternator in less than a year of owning it with only 40,000 miles of it. There have been way too many issues to have had less than 100,000 miles on it.

Within the last year I have replaced the right and left inner and outer tie rods, bought 4 new tires, maintained alignment and shortly after replaced the power steering hose and the driveshaft. Knowing I maintain my vehicle well, I drove myself and 4 friends 900 miles and the power steering fluid began leaking again. Mechanic tells me the rack and pinion needs replaced.I can hardly believe all this is wear and tear but it certainly caused a safety concern for me and my passengers. Now, another $2000
