Safety issue with slider doors not opening. You can hear the sound of the locking mechanism noise continuing after attempting to open the doors. This will happen when it is very hot or cold weather. I think it might be the actuator. I have three toddlers and have had to climb over the front seats to get into the back seats!

Subject: Manufacturer and Dealer Non-Compliance / Obstruction of Federal Safety Recalls Vehicle: 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan Description of Problem: I am filing a formal complaint against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA)/Mopar and its authorized dealer network for active non-compliance, negligence, and obstruction regarding 7 open federal safety recalls on my vehicle. Authorized franchise dealerships have repeatedly refused to initiate the recall process, scan my vehicle's VIN, or open a formal Repair Order to place required parts on backorder. One dealership nonchalantly dismissed the safety hazards, claiming parts are entirely unavailable because the recalls date back to 2010.( United Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram at Jeep Ram [XXX]) Another dealership employee, Craig, used hostile and coercive tactics when discussing service terms, creating an intimidating environment that makes it a safety risk for me to physically bring my vehicle to that location.(Star Chrysler Jeep Dodge FIAT 21110 Jamaica Ave Queens Village, NY 11428) On July 27, 2026, I contacted Mopar Corporate Customer Care to escalate this dealer non-compliance. I spoke with agent Sam under Corporate Case Number XXX. Agent Sam actively obstructed my efforts to secure a remedy. He falsely claimed to be contacting local dealers to check inventory, but when I offered to call those same locations, conference, to verify his claims, he strongly resisted. I asked to speak to a supervisor to escalate the agent's deceptive behavior and the dealer denials, but I was told the supervisor was completely unavailable and could only offer a callback within 24 hours. Under federal law, safety recalls do not expire. Manufacturers and their authorized dealers are legally obligated to provide a free remedy, log vehicle details, and procure parts. Mopar Corporate and its dealer network are actively prioritizing standard brush-offs and administrative evasion over public safety, with 7 recalls. My rear passenger slide door has recently started buzzing when you press the unlock button. The lock itself will not move so it is not locking. We tried to get this fixed at our local dealership, they told us that it was under the 10y/100k miles warranty, we have 66k on the van. They then told us that they would have to remove a trim piece and they would break it and we would have to pay for it. Then, they told us that we were actually lied to and its not under warranty because the warranty is 3y/30k miles.

I can't unscrew 4 lug nuts on my rear wheel. I was able to remove just one bought extra tool try to remove them all. Material is like butter, not steel. How engineering could let material like that to be used. I found on the web that a dealer wonna $400 to remove that lugs....

The drivers side sliding door will not open. The local dealership checked it and says it is the door lock actuator that needs to be replaced. There was a recall on this part, but we never got a recall notice. The vehicle messaging system never indicated a problem. The passenger side sliding door has also had problems, but it still opens. It just makes a lot of noise when opening sometimes, and will close unexpectedly before it fully opens. Both of these problems pose a safety hazard.

The driver's side sliding door lock has seized up and will not let you open the door at all. It won't open with a remote or manually it is solid as a rock. The passenger side sliding door motor makes a horrible sound every time it locks or unlock. It did get stuck at one point , but then it unlocked. This is very dangerous when you have small children in car seats that you cannot get to. And because the door locks on the dodge grand caravans keep malfunctioning , you have to crawl through the back end of the vehicle , put the seats down to get to children in car seats to get them out of the vehicle. The cost to fix this is outrageous. Dodge grand caravan sliding door locks have thousands and thousands of complaints about malfunctioning, and not working. And needing to be replaced. Why are you not recalling this? This is a safety issue. Also , if this would have locked up when I was sitting in the back seat , I wouldn't have been able to get out because I am disabled. I would've been stuck in this dodge grand caravan. This is a safety issue that dodge needs to address immediately. When the door lock smell function and you can't get disabled adults out of a vehicle or small children out of a car seat that is a serious issue.

Both of my sliding passenger doors have become stuck closed due to failed lock actuators. (The doors do not open when placed in the "manual" option either. They cannot be opened in any way.) This happened a few years ago, but my vehicle was past the original warranty period for any repairs, and there were no recalls existing. Last spring (2025), I received notification of an extended warranty period to have this problem fixed. The issue is that my vehicle was not eligible because by that point it was over 100,000 miles. Doors not opening renders the vehicle unusable or unsafe for any passengers besides the front seat passenger. I bought my Dodge Grand Caravan to be a family car, and I can only have one child ride safely with me. In the event of a wreck, passengers would be trapped in the vehicle. I have submitted this concern before, and I have written to the warranty company associated with Dodge. Dodge recognizes this is a common safety problem with the vehicles, as evidenced by the extended warranty for this issue. However, this is not a warranty concern; it is a recall concern due to safety.

2019 dodge caravan, have taken in for every oil change, we used manual to take in with mileage milestones, recently had tires on and a good look over before going on vacation. Transmission randomly failed us on freeway with 4 young children leaving us stranded.

The back up camera is inverted. It shows perfect on the screen. Just inverted. There is a known recall for other 2019 dodge vehicles for the same issue. NHTSA 25E052. How is the grand caravan not included in this. They are having the exact same issues.

So i purchased this van Oct 7.2025. From the day i took it. The doors and trunk going crazy openning on its own. Placing my kids and pets in danger. Alarm going off going crazy and locking our family in the van. Took up to 30 mins to get in and out. I had safe 2019 van soors werent electric never had this issue. Van just stopped in the middle of highway. I was almost hit by semi truck? I was so scared. I went into safeway. Last week. I came out all doors .trunk were open alarm .screamming. my dog was no where to be found. Thank God he had hid under the seat he was freaking out. Im so scared and nervous for our safety. Dealer showed me car faxx. I dont believe they knew about this. Claims it only happens with me but I do not velieve that. From the moment i took it. Wasnt working properly. Now asking me to pay for repairs i will never buy a used car ever again.

While driving, the vehicle will periodically shut down/lose all power. This appears to occur when a slight bump in the road occurs. The loss of power to the vehicle is obviously a significant safety issue. We have been able to restart it when switching to neutral and turning the key; however, this obviously isn't a safe solution while traveling down the highway with no power to the vehicle. This has occurred multiple times at varying speeds (30-70 mph) over the last few years - I am reporting it now as I was assuming/anticipating there would be a recall on this safety issue.

Transmission started shifting hard at 98K miles. It died at red lights on occasion. Took to shop and they replaced the transmission solenoid. That fixed it from dying at red lights but vehicle transmission is about to fully go out right at 100K miles. I will never buy another Dodge vehicle.

The lock actuators on my 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan sliding passenger doors are both frozen, so the doors are not able to be opened at all. The doors for the backseat are unusable, and passengers must climb in through the back hatch door of the van. My car began smoking from the engine (visible from the hood), and I had to pull my vehicle over. My children were unable to exit the vehicle in a swift manner, because they had to leave through the rear hatch of the vehicle instead of opening the doors next to their seats. This is extremely unsafe and seems to be a widespread safety risk with this vehicle. The company issued an extended warranty in 2025, but because my vehicle was purchased in 2018 and I commuted to my job, my vehicle is over the 100,000 mile qualifier now. It wasn't at 100,000 miles when the doors seized up. Dodge/Chrysler should recall this lock actuator part, because passenger safely should come first. An extended warranty that excludes drivers now over 100,000 miles is not acceptable. This defect could have caused my children to become trapped in a burning vehicle.

I am reporting an issue involving a Dodge recall repair and an improper charge related to that recall. My Dodge vehicle was serviced for a sliding door actuator recall. During the repair, the dealer informed me that the “sliding door applique” must be removed to access the actuator and that it cannot be reused once removed. They then charged me over $531.99 for the applique, even though the repair itself was covered under my extended warranty (XV1). The applique was not damaged or defective; it was removed only as part of the recall procedure. I believe this constitutes an unfair and deceptive repair practice — the part should have been replaced at no cost, since it was necessary to complete a recall repair. Dodge Customer Care (Case No. 94484317) denied reimbursement without offering any technical explanation or documentation. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether Dodge and its authorized service centers are charging customers for parts that are required to perform warranty or recall repairs, which could indicate a broader pattern of abuse.
